Can I sound like Chris Cain with tinex one plus or is mostly for hard rock/metal?
Is it good break up with the neck pickup or or mostly hard rock/metal with the treble pickup?
Can you get a slightly overdriven John Mayer or John Mayhal? Can I get a B. B. King or T-Bone Walker? Can I get a mellow Dicke Betts Jesica or is it just Whipping Post? A J. J. Cale or just a screeching Eric Clapton? Can I get a Hendrix Angel or just Purple Haze?
Tonex One plus just arrived!
The rumors became true today! Tonex One Plus or + just launched!
Are you buying one and replace your one?
It has also a massive price increase, basically as costly as the big pedal, so whats the catch?
It adds midi and Bluetooth and an App you can actually change presets or effects.
So think as it as the baby from the One with the Plug.
I'm going through intense choice paralysis with this, I do wanna feel like the Tonex is the better choice but I thought to ask you guys first..
Also, why doesn't the Tonex have a pitch shift feature? I really hope they add it at some point!
I do already prefer that the Tonex has an actual desktop editor software rather than having to use a phone app for the Nano Cortex
Tips for making it work live, in front of an amp.
Hello all! I’ve recently got the tonex one, the sounds are amazing for recording and I’m having so much fun.
Live it just seems to fall apart and I’m not sure why. For reference, there doesn’t seem to be much headroom. I’m trying to use the same amp in A and B and use A for rhythm and B as a boost and while it seems to work at home it’s not cutting the mustard when it’s out with me.
I’m sure I must be missing some trick here? Could I have the volume too high on the actual device? I’ve tried the input trim too. Is it better to set the amp loud and raise the volume from zero on each channel? Am I complicating things here.
Any help welcome.
Tonex SW update & new firmwares with improved noise gate?
It's good to see that the improved noise gate will benefit not only the Tonex One+ but also the other legacy Tonex hw.
Now, let's see how it's improved.
ToneX + Amplitube sounds...off? Tips please!
Hey everyone! New to the community.
Got ToneX Max + Amplitube Max. Loving ALL of the options and things sound...good...but I feel can sound better. Would love help from the community.
My setup:
Guitar > Interface (Scarlett Solo 4th Gen) > Macbook Pro (brand new) > Studio Monitors (Yamaha HS5s). Playing at 64bits/44.1k.
I do not use this into a DAW or headphones right now. I play out of the studio monitors and prefer that for now.
Issues:
Thinks sound OK, but hi-gain amps feel really boomy/muddy. Some are also scratchy or "clipping" but no clipping is actually happening. It's not my guitars, not my studio monitors. Playing through NAM is amazing so I think it's something with my settings with gain or something with my interface for Amplitube + ToneX.
Anyone use Scarlett Solo 4 and had the same issues and fixed it? Would love any and all tips here to optimize the tones.
Thanks a ton in advance!
Hey everyone!
Been using NAM and T3000 and loving the sounds I’m getting out of it. Looking to expand into using plugins of user created presets of band/song tones.
With that said, I’m a bit confused by the ecosystem and what to buy. To be clear, I’m looking to simply plug into my interface, find some presets covering artists/songs/tones I like on ToneNet, and play along with tunes through studio speakers.
What would I need to purchase to do this? I see Amplitube, I see ToneX, I’m not quite sure if I need both or what? Which bundle would be best?
If anyone can help me out I’d appreciate it a ton! Thanks so much in advance.
What headphones are you guys using?
I want to go for a closed back and was considering the beyerdynamic dt 770 pro x but now I've read the beyerdynamic 700 pro x are more neutral.
I don't need the headphones for music only for the tonex.
So what are you using and would recommend?
Any input is appreciated!
I ordered it new off Amazon, and the box was sealed, which makes this a really weird occurrence. The products must be the same size, because the Tonex Plug was fit in the box perfectly, to the point that I didn’t realize I had received the wrong product until I tried to set up the mobile app and realized the instructions don’t match the buttons on the product…
That said, I’m wondering if I “lucked out” and if this would be worth keeping? I am new to electric guitar. I’ve played a bit of acoustic growing up. I’m interested in learning and recording heavy metal tracks. Metallica, Sleep Token, Mick Gordon style stuff, you name it. Does anyone here know which would suit me better?
So much noise
I recently got a new audio interface bc I thought the the reason my tonex amp sim was generating so much amp noise (like not interference or buzzing but more of a hiss which changes tones if I change the amp model) was from the high noise floor from my shitty Behringer interface.
I run my signal through a pedal board into the audio interface into tonex and it has now started to sound like the amps are amplifying the noise from my pedal board - even tho I’m using a fender engine room power supply.
Is this to be expected with using these models or any amp sim models I general as it suck that the noise may be coming from my pedal board.
Hello, I'll try explaining my problem in case whether some of you or ik multimedia themselves can help with this issue since I can't find anything about it on the internet and I've already sent two tickets to the customer support and I still haven't received any answer other than a screenshot request, to which they didn't answer with a solution. I've recently bought a ToneX One limited green edition (Thomann exclusive, in case it's important for some reason), NEW (so no previous registrations), I registered it on the IK manager on Mac, it's correctly displayed on my "hardware" section, then I downloaded, installed and authorized the ToneX software. ToneX Editor won't let me use the app, it keeps saying that no toneX device has been registered and to do so inside the manager app. The pedal is correctly plugged in with its own usb-c cable, it turns on and even the ToneX Editor recognizes it's connected, but if I click on it, it says it's not registered, AGAIN. I tried everything: I tried re-registering the TonexOne, multiple times, I tried reinstalling the software, I tried restarting the Mac, I tried clicking on "restore purchases" in the app, nothing worked. As of now I'm unable to use the Tonex Editor at all, so I can't use most of the features of the unit itself, I can't neither update the firmware nor change my presets in the hardware. I may not be the most patient person, but this kind of experience with a freshly bought new unit and the software from a professional brand like IK multimedia is frankly quite frustrating.
I hope you can give me a hand, I really don't know what to do anymore.
I know this might be very widely answered and very subjective. But in your opinion: what are the best captures out there? In terms of realistic feel, indistinguishable from an amp? Clean, drive and high gain? Which ones I MUST check out?
Hi, yesterday I uploaded 3 captures of my 1973 Marshall Super Lead 100W with a 1960AX 4x12 cab to ToneNet. I love the cleans on that amp and I never found a tone I liked, especially for the strat.
That one to me sounds full even with single coils, does the Hendrix cleans to edge of breakup depending on the pickup volume, great with a fuzz face in front. It might be a little too dark, but I would love to hear what people think, it’s my first capture session and I mostly made it so I can gig with my preferred tone.
So if you are curious, look for jde322 as creator name in tonenet and please let me know what you think.
I don’t intend to monetize this, I am just trying to get better at capturing profiles.
The 3 tones are with the same settings on the amp, just different mic positions and volume.
Cheers !
Hello,
I am a fairly basic Tonex user - don't even have the SW installed - so I basically just use factory preset captures, maybe adding some effect here and there - My question is: Are paid captures that much better than for instance these SLO, JCM ones? Worth it to pay for them?
Thanks for any feedback on this.
Not sure if I’m on to something or committing blasphemy. 🤔🤦♂️
Hi, I’ve just bought a Tonex One and I want to use it with my analog pedalboard for an ampless setup.
My idea is to use OD/DS pedals in front of the Tonex, and all the modulations (chorus, delay, reverb) after the Tonex output. Then the last pedal, the RV6, goes directly into a DI box for the PA.
Is it correct? When I practice with the band I still need the DI box or I can connect to the mixer directly from the RV6?
Thanks
im also ok with using reaper to to add eqs, etc through an audio interface but ideally id like to use it with just a tonex one pedal. My guitar is a les paul style with p90s if that helps
Hi everyone,
I’ve been trying out ToneX CS to decide whether to buy the MAX version and use the plugins in Reaper. My main reason is pure laziness: I just want to be able to search for a specific song preset and try it out immediately.
The problem is that I’m seeing very few presets, and I’m not sure if it’s because of the version I’m using or something else. For example, if I search for Metallica, only about 7 presets show up. If I search for Muse, nothing appears at all... I’m used to the Spark amp's ToneCloud, where you can always find what you're looking for, but with this base version, I only see about 1,500 presets in total.
My question is: is this normal, or do I need to purchase the product to be able to see the full library of presets?
This software is not intuitive. I think that’s as much as I understood before grabbing a tonex one.
But right now I confused as hell.
I’m in tonex Editor and using it to click and drag presets from computer (software) to the A/B preset on pedal (hardware).
In Editor you can adjust the hardware preset (gain, volume, bass mid treb etc). but I can’t audition those live changes from the Editor app. As in, I can’t see anywhere to set up guitar input settings and listen to the changes I’m making live.
The only way to hear my guitar (gtr - tonex one - usbC - computer), is if I also open Tonex app.
however is seems as though if I do that, I’m hearing the software preset as it is inside Tonex app (not in Editor) plus whatever A/B preset on the pedal itself.
What in the world am I misunderstanding or getting wrong here?
TIA
Please be kind, or not. I’m grown. I can also cry without you finding out.
