Michael Jackson - 2 Bad , Maynard sounding vocal melody

So this is quite random, but I was listening to the song 2 Bad by Michael Jackson, and I noticed the chorus has a very Maynard sounding vocal melody... when he's saying "Too bad, too bad about it, why don't you scream and shout it"
Can someone go listen to it and let me know if they get the same vibe? I looked it up and found nothing, but I can't be the only person that noticed that

It's interesting to hear, made me wonder if there's any real musical inspirations going on between Maynard and Michael Jackson that they've never spoken about

I'm going through intense choice paralysis with this, I do wanna feel like the Tonex is the better choice but I thought to ask you guys first..
Also, why doesn't the Tonex have a pitch shift feature? I really hope they add it at some point!
I do already prefer that the Tonex has an actual desktop editor software rather than having to use a phone app for the Nano Cortex

So long story short, I wanted to upgrade my rig and buy a new multi effect pedal, so I was looking into the Line 6 pod go/hx stomp VS headrush mx5/flex prime, since these seemed like the best options for my budget...

My intended usage would be to have a nice rig for home recording and gigging, I already have a couple of pedals that I can integrate with whatever I buy, but I needed a good upgrade first and foremost. And the music I play ranges from alternative rock to death metal.

Then I started heavily considered getting the nano cortex instead after finding it's price to be in my budget as well!

I'm very down with getting a device that gives me a good and solid tone and worrying about effects second, the idea to have a good tone that goes with me everywhere sounds extremely attractive!

Then I stumbled across the Tonex, and far as I can tell it sounds amazing and costs a fraction of the price, allowing me to use the rest of my budget for an expression pedal and a foot contoller for more versatility and control in gigs.

But now I'm confused.. the headrush also has amazing amp sims with more effects and controls, the nano cortex sounds amazing and has an insane transpose/pitch shift feature, but can only be controlled with an online mobile app, which feels icky to me a bit.. while the tonex has an awesome desktop software, and also has a huge library of captures like the cortex with fraction of the price, but it has no pitch shift feature and minimal effects in return.. so now I'm extremely confused, and I've never tried any capturing devices like the cortex or tonex so I'm hesitant to try, even tho the Tonex seems like an amazing deal to me.

So yeah! I'm sorry for the long post but someone please help me out here LOL, if you guys have any opinions or experiences please enlighten me.
