Samsung notes sinc with Obsidian

I need help. I have a Samsung tablet, and I want the notes I write on it to sync with my Obsidian.

The problem is that Samsung Notes doesn’t have a feature to automatically export notes as PDFs—it has to be done manually.

And even if I do it manually, every time I export, it creates a new PDF instead of replacing the existing one.

Do you know of a solution?

I hate the new update

Is there a way to change the way the app looks back? I hate what they did to it.

[Academic] Short Survey About Writing on Tablets & Stylus Usage (2–3 min)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on a university project about tablet and stylus ergonomics and I’m looking for people who regularly write or draw on tablets to participate in a short survey.

The survey takes about 2–3 minutes and is completely anonymous.

I’d really appreciate any participation or shares. Thanks! :)

Is there any way to change the new icons?

I'm sure you guys already low about the new HIDEOUS icons. It's completely ruined my experience. Is there any way to change it back to the original version or to protest against this? If not, I'll probably switch to another app.

Just started using Samsung notes, I see it has one note backup, but not that good. Made me think without other Samsung devices it's not that cross platform. ( I use a Mac by the way, windows rarely).

I was wondering if there are other good notes taking aps, with decent pdf support. With Mac, windows apps and syncing support. I would prefer it to be on the cheap side, free or one time payment.

Let me know what you are using and any suggestions. Thanks!

Note application

Hello everyone. I used to use a Samsung smartphone and I've switched to a Honor. To be brief, I'm looking for a note-taking app that can also function as a checklist with checkboxes. While I could make do with the one on my Honor (because I really like it), I'm looking for a cross-platform app with a roughly similar interface. I've tried Keep and OneNote, but neither suits me as well as Samsung Notes or Honor Notes because I find both lack depth, especially with Google's move to Material 3 and Microsoft's for some other reason I can't explain. However, if anyone knows how to get the Honor or Samsung app on other Windows, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks in advance for any replies.

App update

What happened with the update? The new UX is completely shit, why do I have to scroll kilometers to find an old note?

Apart from the PDF integrations and so, what are the good things from the new update?

I'm hating it big time

I’ve been using Samsung Notes for a while now, and honestly, it’s one of the best apps available on Android. The latency, the integration, and the overall feel are top-tier. However, there are a few "missing links" that keep it from being the absolute best productivity tool on any platform.

If we got these 4 features, I wouldn't even look at another app again:

1. Tabbed Interface (Open Notes in Tabs)

While we can open notes in pop-up views or split-screen, having a tabbed bar at the top (similar to a web browser or GoodNotes) would be a game-changer. Switching between 3 or 4 different documents quickly without cluttering the screen with multiple windows is essential for deep work.

2. Bidirectional Linking (Backlinks)

We need the ability to create a "web" of knowledge.

Internal: Linking to a specific page or section within the same note.

External: Linking to a different note entirely.

Having a "Backlink" section to see which notes reference the current one would turn Samsung Notes into a powerful personal knowledge base (like Obsidian or Roam, but with handwriting).

3. Custom Outlines in Page Navigation

The current page navigation is okay, but we should be able to create our own outlines/bookmarks. Let us name specific pages or sections and view them in a dedicated "Table of Contents" sidebar. Navigating a 100-page PDF or a massive lecture notebook is currently much harder than it needs to be.

4. Standardized Paper Sizes (A3, A5, etc.)

Currently, the "infinite" or "standard" page can be a bit unpredictable. Adding presets for standard printable formats like A3, A4, and A5 is crucial for anyone who needs to print their notes or export them as professional documents. It ensures that our handwriting and layout don't get messed up when moving from screen to paper.

What do you guys think? Are these the main things holding the app back, or is there something else you’d prioritize? I really hope the devs are looking at community feedback like this!

Samsung "Notes" app

(New to this sub, tried r/Android but auto-removed, this sub suggested. Edit: helpful link to move it for me also helpfully removed all newlines.)

I've been using a Samsung A25 for a couple of years now, very happy with it. I use its "Notes" app a lot. Scratch pad, project notes/supplies lists, stuff I should remember but can't any more about cars, etc.

When I got this phone, Notes was a simple text memo app. It worked great. The store I bought the phone from even ported all my old notes to it. However, the app soon got upgraded to a full-fledged WYSIWYG word processor. Most of the added features are helpful. I now have section headings in larger font and bold.

However, it's gone overboard. It randomly decides that something I'm typing is a web link, and forever more it's in blue with an underline. I don't think it's going to make me replace the phone, but it is pretty annoying. Today's example, I'm typing in:

PVC Pipe: 1/2" grey conduit: 2x 90° elbows

and it decides that the _1/2"_ part is a web link. Now, if I focus on that for any reason, it gives me an error because it's not a valid web address. No shit, Sherlock. If I want to change that to 3/4" conduit, I have to focus on 'grey' and backspace to delete everything in blue.

Is there any way to turn off the "Create web links from random text" function? Failing that, is there a simple note-taking app I can install that will import all my current notes?

Unable to samsung notes log in on windows

Hey everyone! I recently got myself a new laptop and wanted to download samsung notes on it since I use it a lot on my tablet and phone. I installed both samsung notes and samsung account via the MS store but when trying to log in I just get an infinite loading screen. Looking around I saw an user that had this issue because they had uninstalled edge completely, which I also had done, but now after reinstalling it I still can't log in. Any ideas on how this could be solved?

Got myself a tab S10 Fe for note talking and reading pdfs. I know windows has an app for Samsung notes. And not for Mac os.

Are there any work around? People who are using Mac os how do you get around? Any tips?

I probably won't be running a window vm just for that since it might take too much storage. But I do use a Linux VM.

Thanks for any suggestions

Kinda disappointed that it's such a great app but cloud backup/sync solutions are becoming messy right now.

It's good they have added windows app. But still some of the users will be using other android devices, Linux and Mac os etc. other notes apps are mostly subscription based.

How are you going to deal with this situation afterwards?

Personally I just got the tab. Maybe I should just use it for handwriting notes, export them once in a while to a obsidian/similar apps to manage them. Or to drive to create a backup.

Any suggestions?

I opened the app today and now my list of all notes is different. Its always been sorted by date modified but now there are gaps between today and other days. Today just has one note and then a large gap. Is there a way to fix this?

I was watching videos on YouTube trying to get some hints and tips to use Samsung Notes and found this video that says that Samsung Notes had an update.

I was not aware of these three new features:

  1. Being able to import PDFs and Changing a note by long pressing the new note button

  2. Being able to create new tables

  3. Additional features for the pencil when using a stylus
