Burl Marx Var. made it to my Lowe’s for 29.95.

She was in saturated miracle grow like soil, but I removed as much as possible.

Is this a Philodendron Billietiae?

The stupid plant info card that came with it said “tropical plant”. Also is this soil too dense? I bought it today and haven’t watered it

Slow growth. Am I missing something?

I've had this plant for about a year now and although it is on a moss pole, it has not pushed bigger leaves and aerial roots barely go into the moss. Am I missing something? I believe it is healthy. Roots are good too. Help!

Setup and Lighting Question

My wife has always been the plant person, but a few years ago she got sick and wasn’t able to take care of her plants, and unfortunately most of them didn’t make it. Recently, I noticed her interest coming back, so I picked up a couple of Monstera Albo for her. After seeing the plants from the first seller I bought from, I got really inspired and excited, so I joined her and started looking for more plants. Now we’ve ended up with everything in the photos, plus a few more in another room 😅

That said, I’m still very new to this hobby, even though I like to think I have some plant DNA from my grandma and mom. I’ve been doing a lot of research and asking the seller tons of questions about how he grows his plants so well. One of the biggest things I learned is how important light is.

I started with a generic grow light from Amazon, but now I’ve upgraded to four Barrina TR40s, along with a T1S and a T10 Pro to better support the plants. The space I’m working with is a high ceiling area with four east facing windows across the staircase, roughly 9 feet by 3 feet.

Based on what I’ve learned, I set things up this way because I want bigger leaves and for them to face one direction. That’s why I’m using the T10 as a directional light, the TR40s as overhead lighting, and the T1S to help fill in shadows.

My question is, does it look like the T10 is being overpowered by the TR40s and becoming less effective? Would it make sense to add another T10 in the middle to fill that gap?

Any suggestions on how I can improve the setup would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy planting to all of us 🤗🌱

I’m just a beginner

Rather than spending a lot of money on plants I might kill, I have been buying off the reject rack at my local tropical greenhouse. I got her without any identification. I know she’s a philodendron but that’s it. She’s actually looking better than when I got her but I want to make sure she’s happy. I’m not opposed to dismantling her if that makes more sense. Any advice would be appreciated!

Philodendron Rust

grow light, watering top inch or two dry, no misting, soil aroid mix. I had a shelf of philodendrons. I added a yellow variegated variety and didn’t catch the spots on it since it blended in so well. I was getting different information from everyone, but due to the contagious nature of the spots I landed on fungus (rust) or bacterial. i know it’s contagious so I tossed all but these big beauties, and two smaller ones I can’t see any spots on. is there any coming back or should I just say my goodbyes. I’ve been treating with Captain Jack‘s Copper Fungicide, but philodendrons are my absolute favorite so I’m gutted if they can be saved. I’m not opposed to moving them outside to avoid further contamination, but I’m in Utah so summer is going to be a lot for them and they wont overwinter.

Help me save my beloved philodendron!

Hello, new on this group. I'm looking for advises on what would be the safest way to salvage my philodendron.

as you can see on the pictures the leaves are all yellowing, the stem is too long and croocked, and iven if I can see a small new leaf, I think she isn't well.

I'm debating between cuting the older leaves and let it be, or trying to cut the stem to propagate it and save what I can.

If you are on the team of cutting it, where would you do it on the stem?

Also as a bonus if you can help me identify it as I dont know the variety.

Thanks to all the people who are willing to help ! 😁

Mosspole stability

I extended the mosspoles today, each pot has 2 plants now, fertilized, plus a drip on top.

How do yall stabilize your poles? they are very wobbly. I want to keep them outside a for the summer again but I'm afraid the wind or storm will knock them over.

I’m questioning myself

I bought this at a local nursery (east of DFW) for $12 unlabeled. My initial ID is Silver Stripe but a few of the vines just don’t match a typical silver stripe, in my opinion. Is this just a fun silver stripe or is it something else?

Chop n prop or let it grow?

Had her for

Two years so far and I don’t know now if I should let her be tall or what benefits it will get with chopping. And then where do I chop?! Thanks!

What does this look like

My husband got a cutting from a friend but they don’t know what it is. Grows fast, very robust, red underside. The original plant had 12-18” leaves. I had guessed Mexican Philodendron.

please help save my princess

recently she has been having leaves pop out but not completely unfurling and they are getting stuck and then never coming out at all and then making new one. you can see the leaf in the back is browning, this just started so i know that she’s not doing great and im not sure what to do.

i’ve tried massaging her leaves a little bit sometimes and the only change we have made to her environment (that i am aware of) is moving her closer to the window

anything to try to save her would be great, i’ve had this plant for 4 years and i want to keep her going
