Looking to get my first bike in 10 years since my old Honda Rebel 500 with Biltwell bars got stolen on Bowery in NYC lol. The new Triumph 400 series (either scrambler or speed) checks every box for me, but the single cylinder worries me being stuck in TX. Would you go for it or go with the Yamaha R3 instead? (budget is $5K max)

👍

No rider should die without riding in Norway! Amen!

The first time I saw Norway, Oslo and around, it was already love at first sight.

Later when I traveled through the west coast, starting from Lofoten islands down to Bergen and Kristiansand, I found north Norway much much more beautiful.

It is insanely beautiful. I cannot literally find other words to describe it.

So, no rider should die without riding in Norway! Amen!

Ive got some work stuff in Denver, Colorado and decided to say fuck it I'll just ride there on my Kawasaki Z900 from Athens, Georgia.

I'm gonna head out tomorrow, but anybody know of some fun roads to ride besides just highwaying it across? Im thinking stay a night in Memphis, and another in either Wichita, Kansas or Oklahoma City before getting to Denver ~500 miles a day of riding.

I'll be riding all day for sure but don't mind a little extra detour here and there to make it a little more interesting.

Hello everyone, I have taken a week and a half off work and plan to go from Chicago to the PNW and back in 12 days. Is this an aggressive timeline? I have done Chicago to NC and back which ended up being ~ 13 hours in a day both ways but I haven't done that type of riding back to back to back. In your expirience is my plan below too hopeful? Additionally I have budgeted $2,000 dollars assuming I can get ~50 miles to the gallon. Are there any surprise expenses I should be expecting?

Background context: me and my boyfriend have been dating for almost two years now. When I first met him he had a bike, after two weeks of talking he got into a bike accident. He broke his tibia and he had a rough time in the hospital he was there for about two/three months due to his body rejecting the new skin and muscle that it was attached there. The doctors even told him that there was a chance of him losing his leg. The healing process was hard too, not being able to walk and being stuck in a bed for months it really affected him he had to be on a wheelchair and eventually in crunches. After that his leg hasn’t look the same, he lost completely sense of touch in that area, he can’t be walking around without a compression sock and ankle brace because then his foot starts to hurt. In cold season he also struggles with pain. During his whole journey I tried to be supportive. I stuck around because he was/is a great guy and even though I barely knew him when the accident happened, it hurt a lot seeing him in such a depressing state. I knew that his life wasn’t going to be the same and I thought I wouldn’t have to worry about him wanting to get another bike let’s not forget about the fact that he promised me and told me multiple times that he wasn’t planning on getting another bike but okay. Fast forward a couple weeks ago he started talking about bikes and how he misses the feeling of being on a bike and now I see that he’s serious about getting another bike. I can’t understand the feeling he talks me about because I have never rode a bike and I’m really trying to understand and be supportive on his hobbies but if something were to happen to him I don’t know what I would do I might sound selfish but I don’t understand why he wants to go back to something that can kill him anytime and even though he tried to reassure me that he is not the same reckless driver and would treat it as a side hobby I can’t be at peace because there’s also another bad drivers and accidents can happen. I’m aware that I can’t force him to do what I want but what am I supposed to do.

One of my Go To Rides. First pic going over on the ferry. Another Kawi, a Triumph and an "outlaw" on his lifestyle statement bike LOL. Yes, the word OUTLAW in big letters across the back of his bike. In case anyone didn't know. Goes with his half helmet with iron cross and lightning bolts. Ape hangers and obnoxious loud exhaust. pic2 looking out to Mutiny Bay and the Olympics. Very scenic area. Good hills with views. Pic3/4 Driftwood Park, Admiralty Bay, Olympics. Pic5 queuing up for the return ferry. 6 of us, 2 more came after I took this pic. I'll add on a few more scenery pics. Great riding day. Though quite a few deer standing around.

2 Day ELAN Adventure

Did a ride through the Elan Valley this week and put together a 60-second edit from the trip. The roads and scenery were ridiculously good — especially early morning before traffic appeared. The roads to Claerwyn are closed when I went but cut through the barrier and you can bypass the works.

Easily one of my favourite rides in Mid Wales so far.

Applecross pass Scotland under heavy fog

Applecross pass, highest, most famous part of NC500 route. Some think it is the Stelvio Pass(*) of Scotland.

It’s not that high, 626m, and the road itself is not much difficult. Difficulty comes from it’s a single track road. If a vehicle is coming from opposite direction, depending on where you are, you might have difficulty to stop. So it’s a bit of gambling instead of riding skills.

My intention was to skip Applecross pass since I thought it was an unnecessary risk. However the day before’s ride showed alternative way is not much easier and it means returning back and make the route longer. So I decided to take the pass.

It was not supposed to rain, but it started to rain. While climbing the pass I got caught with a heavy fog. Waited for some time but it didn't go away.

First two photos are at the top of the pass, next two are at the first spot I waited for the fog to go away. Next is how the top of the pass looks after passing it. Next few are the reward you get, the scene after passing the pass.

8C cold, rain, fog, need to go helmet’s visor open, not much fun at all!

Wow, I felt so much more veteran after passing it!

(*) No, this pass is no way close or similar or compatible to Stelvio Pass. True, Stelvio is one of the highest (2757m) passes in Europe, yet it has wide, well maintained two track road. It’s easy and joyful to pass.

Lake Wenatchee and Little Wenatchee Road and (closed to cars) NF65 Day Trip 05/07/2026

Fabulous day. Today's theme was "wenatchee". If you google "what does the place name wenatchee mean' one gets: "Wenatchee" is derived from the Wenatchi Salish Native American word (often transliterated from Yakama-Sahaptin as Winátsha) generally understood to mean "river flowing from a canyon," "water rushing out," or "roaring river," referring to the Wenatchee River's journey from the Cascade Mountains. Other interpretations include "robe of the rainbow," "meeting of the rivers," or "good place".

pics 1,2 Lake Wenatchee swimming beach

pics 3-6 Little Wenatchee Road, the bridge is over the White River

pics 7-13 from Forest Service Road 65. The last shot shows the closure. The gate has an opening for 2 wheelers to go thru. Had the place to myself. The river down below the road pic 11 is the Little Wenatchee River.

Dual Sport vs Supermoto in 2026 - Which Is BETTER? (I OWN BOTH!)

Supermoto versus a Dual Sport motorcycle, which is really better in 2026? Dual sport motorcycles are no longer limited to dual sport wheels with inner tubes which used to be its weakest attribute. There are new dual sport motorcycles that are better than ever and make it even more difficult to choose between getting a supermoto or a dual sport motorcycle. See my latest video and I’ll show you if a Supermoto or Dual Sport is better to get.
