Ive got some work stuff in Denver, Colorado and decided to say fuck it I'll just ride there on my Kawasaki Z900 from Athens, Georgia.

I'm gonna head out tomorrow, but anybody know of some fun roads to ride besides just highwaying it across? Im thinking stay a night in Memphis, and another in either Wichita, Kansas or Oklahoma City before getting to Denver ~500 miles a day of riding.

I'll be riding all day for sure but don't mind a little extra detour here and there to make it a little more interesting.

Does getting a permit actually pay off?

I've been fishing about 6 seasons in Bristol Bay now and considering to take the next step and get a permit. Im set up on a pretty nice operation and have returning crew.

Permit costs are crazy high and doing the math on adding an extra 10% from D-permit, it seems like its gonna take a lot of time before being back in the green. Unless the world ends, im planning to be coming back every season for the next decade, but still being in debt for it for over half of that's a tough call.

How does this all work? Actually getting a permit, what are best terms to negotiate with captain, and is it worth it in the long run at this moment?

I've been traveling around the world on motorcycles for years - and honestly didn't really wear much gear on these trips (I know I'm an idiot). But now been really looking into stuff that I can make my own.

I've got some contacts at a Pakistani leather factory that has extremely high quality leather and really cheap, but they've asked me for designs and what I want specifically.

Custom designs I've got in terms of aesthetics, but in terms of functionality, I've got no idea how to build something that'll protect me, last forever, and look good. Im thinking slot for backplate, integrated shoulder and elbow padding- but besides that I need ideas.

If you were to custom make a leather riding jacket (or gloves, pants, etc.) what are the main things you'd focus on?
