Mint account canceled automatically

No warning, rep says I need a phone number to put a ticket in for this. Mint owns my phone number, I don't have an alternative phone number. What the fuck?

Tired of paying $60 a month for T-Mobile. Is the $15 Mint Mobile plan worth it?

Looking to switch over because I don't use my phone constantly with data these days.

- I just use it to watch youtube videos sometimes

- I use my phone google maps GPS every day when I drive for work

- I only use and pay for 1 line.

That's about it...

So I feel like I don't need to be paying $60 a month for that with T-Mobile. I see Mint Mobile has each month for 5gb/month with unlimited text and talk.

- Is this legit?

- Can I keep my current phone and phone number? (I have an older Android Galaxy Note 8)

- Will the price stay forever being $15 per month?

- Do they send me the new sim card through mail? And how long does it usually take?

Time for Mint to lower prices for unlimited

Metro by T-Mobile, same parent company as Mint has much better unlimited pricing. Taxes and fees are included in pricing and you can auto pay monthly, not 1 year ahead.

I just wanna by a phone!

I've tried everything to buy a new phone on the website, and I keep getting an error. Can't use my CC, PayPal, or Affirm. I've even called customer service to order through them, but within a day or two, they just issue a refund. I've called my bank, and everything is fine on that end. They're not blocking the purchase. I don't know what else to do. I guess I'm gonna start looking at other carriers who might actually take my money.

Mint Mobile Secondary Number

Hi Mint family, I just recently moved from Canada to the States. I want to keep my Canadian number and add a US number as a secondary esim. Is this possible with Mint for a iphone 13?

Trying to renew my plan. Can't get into the app or chat live with support. Please help

My plan ended on the 20th and I've been trying to renew. When I go to sign into the app, it texts me asking if it's really me. I text back "ALLOW" and nothing happens. I can't get in the app to renew. I then go to the website to contact live support but the "chat with us" button does nothing when I click it. What do I do here?

Minternational fail in Korea.

Half fail? The cheapo text and calls option will pull down texts but you can’t reply to them in Korea. Sure glad we bought real e-sims for data. Not being able to respond is almost more frustrating than having it not work at all.

This always worked in Europe so I just thought I’d warn the other inmates.

Somehow used 3 GB in 7 minutes while browsing reddit?

Not downloading or streaming anything, just using the reddit app ate up 3GB in 7 minutes?

No Sim/SOS After Switching from AT&T

Recently switched from AT&T to Mint, whole process was smooth and I received email confirmation from Mint that "Your number transfer is complete." However, when I checked my number in Settings -> 'Cellular', it was still linked to AT&T.

After a few minutes, the number stopped working completely but was never transferred to Mint, the Mint SIM could not be detected by the phone (my lockscreen would show "No SIM" if I only have the Mint SIM inserted). My AT&T SIM can still be detected by the phone, but it doesn't work anymore and is also in SOS state.

My mistake was when creating the Mint account I used their "recommend strong password" feature where I assumed it was saved to my phone, but now when I try logging in there's no saved password. Since my number stopped working, I can't reset the password through verification code either. Have tried re-inserting the SIM multiple times and restarting my phone etc., but none of them is working.

My phone can only do physical SIMs and I'm wondering if it'd make a difference to just buy a new SIM card. Has anyone experienced something similar? Customer support has not been helpful and I've been stuck with no number for 3 days.

Thank you so much!

$567 a year for 5 years (Unlimited Phone + Home Internet)

We moved to Indiana a few years ago. We're in the country. Our only option when we got here was Starlink + Verizon. That was about $220 a month between both.

6 months ago Tmobile started offering the home internet. Its been great, about $155 a month between home internet and phone. Mints new offer is crazy cheap though. Everything runs off Tmobile so we get the exact same service/speed.

Its the $540 plan ($567 after fees and taxes) paid once a year. So about $47 a month if you do a breakdown. It also says that price is locked in for 5 years.

I highly recommend!! Saving $110 a month from Tmobile for the same service.

FLIP 6 Not Connecting to Networks automatically

My Mint Mobile is about to renew but I am at my wits end. I work in a dungeon so I need to keep WiFi Calling on. Fine. Works great.

However lately when I leave wifi the phone defaults to Emergency Calls Only. Toggling airplane mode would force it to connect finally. But now it connects to 5g for like a minute before losing network connection.

This is happening in a major city with 5g coverage. I tried reinserting the Sim. Restarting the phone. Changing apn settings, turning off wifi calling (did not help). Basically, this phone is only usable when connected to wifi.

Between downgrading my plan or moving elsewhere I am at a loss. I have done a network reset in the past but did not fix this intermittent issue.

Can't call voicemail

Hello, I've had this problem for awhile but it's gotten worse.

Basically, visual voicemail won't update anymore and I can't listen to the messages it shows (they load indefinitely.) When I try to call voicemail manually (holding 1, or dialing my number) it just hangs up immediately. Every other call works normally.

I have a Motorola g stylus 2022.

Customer service has not been able to help. I chatted, I called. Nada. I am thinking of ordering a new sim but idk if that would do anything.

The single worst customer care experience of my life, Ft. Mint Mobile

Over the past 24 hours, I have spoken to 10 different mint agents. 🫠

Context: I recently got a new phone and, since I was using Mint with a physical SIM, I decided to switch to an eSIM. During the process, Mint said they sent an activation email, but I never received anything. At the same time, the eSIM process deactivated my physical SIM, leaving me with no service at all.

Issue: When I contacted customer support, they initially couldn’t even locate my account. After some digging, they found that my account existed without a first name, last name, or email attached. I am not sure how their backend allowed for an account to exist, which makes their their claim of 'security' bs, as you will read later. Anyway, the rep guided me to update my name, but when we got to the email, it required a verification code sent to my phone, which I couldn’t access because my SIM was already deactivated.

"The Care": The above led to a cycle of 9 calls with different agents. Each call started with me verifying my identity (I think I might have memorized my IMEI by now). This was followed by some "verification" questions for whatever they were verifying, a couple of holds, partial troubleshooting, and then in the end I was told that I would get a call back within 1/2/5/10/20 mins or 1hr. I did not receive callbacks for most, and when I did, half of them were outrageously outside the timeframe they indicated. As a result, whenever I had to callback myself, there was no continuity between agents, and I had to restart the entire process every time.

"All they could do": On the ninth call, I was told they were unable to verify my identity and that I would have to wait 30 days before trying again for 'security reasons'. This effectively meant I would be without service for a month, with no workaround, no temporary SIM, and no alternative solution, despite having already paid for the plan. Awesome!

Resolution: On my tenth call, I finally reached a care supervisor who understood the situation immediately. They said the same thing about the 30-day thing. I was pretty agitated at this point and decided I was done, and asked for a cancellation and refund for the remaining time on my plan. Initially, this was denied, but after pushing further, they requested it as a one-time exception. I’m currently waiting on the refund confirmation. I would give them a shoutout if someone from Mint DMs me :)

The biggest downside now is that I will likely lose my current phone number, which I really wanted to keep, as everything is linked to it, and would have to wait whatever time for the new number. Any porting also requires waiting for the 30-day (business) period. Given the experience, I have 0 confidence that even after 30 days of waiting their verification process would work.

I actually like(d) Mint for its pricing and had generally acceptable service. But if there is one thing I would want to avoid doing rn, its to deal with mint customer care ever again in my life.

International capabilities

I'm considering switching to Mint Mobile. I split my time pretty evenly between the UK and the US, but primarily use my US phone. I wanted to see what people's experience has been like with the International pass, especially the data component. Any insight would be appreciated.

Mobile speeds

I switched from T-Mobile to Mint mobile. On t-mobile, I had 5GUC, but on mint mobile it is only 5g.

I swear I have seen screenshots with people rocking 5gUC with there mint mobile service. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Well, I downloaded a network info app and even though I am showing 5g icon, it states I am on LTE. So something seems off...

Here is more info. I have a Samsung S23 i bought through tmobile (physical sim). Had 5GUC the entire time. Switched to Mint (on an esim) and followed Mints directions and am only getting 5g (network info apps show LTE though yikes)

Trying to get back a lost phone number

My friend was out of the country and didn’t realize her payments weren’t going through, so her Mint Mobile account was cancelled. She just got back to the country and was told that since the account was terminated they could not get the number back and asked her to sign up for a new account and they may be able to recover it. My friend did that and they said it will take a while to activate so they’ll call us in a half hour or so. We didn’t hear back so we called Mint again and they, this time, advised us to see if we could secure the number through NumberBarn. We tried to search the number on their site and they say it’s not available. However, we’ve tried calling the old number we want to recover and it doesn’t appear to be in use. Any advice on other things to try would be greatly appreciated!!

Sending text to single number

I just got an eSIM for my daughter's iPhone. She can't send RCS, SMS or MMS to my android phone

Just my phone. It works for everyone else! I can send her texts. She cannot reply.

She can reply via RCS when she is in a group with another person, but not between us.

I have followed all the instructions in the FAQ, disabled everything on her phone, reenabled everything. Reset her Google messaging, etc.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Outages,feedback, and reviews for app

Recently people I have been sending text messages to have not been receiving links I send. After some digging I found that there was an outage in my area. However, to find this I had to be on a service call.

On this call I was made aware that there is no way to check these outages in the app, nor how long they will last for. I haven't been able to send links for half a week now. Not only can I not check these outages in the app, he said the only way to check them was to call customer service. EVERY TIME.

This is not great at all, so I figured I'd leave some sort of review or feedback. On the app? Nope can't do it there. Alright maybe the website? That seems reasonable. Also nothing. People using this service should not have to jump through hoops and maybe even be forced to create third party accounts just to leave any sort of feedback or see outages.

Going Nowhere Fast

I've had Mint Mobile for a year, great service and never a problem until now. I recently bought a new cell and since I wanted a stay on Mint, I stupidly bought the wrong Sim card in order to do this. I've called Mint many times in the last 10+ days to get them to send me the right Sim and never received it .. as a Senior I can't be without my cell. I've been transferred many times to the Tech department and in this time frame they tried to return my call one time (unfortunately my partner was driving when the call came thru but couldn't answer it).

Since im getting nowhere with Mint, I requested my Account and Pin#, so I can go to another carrier ... but guess what, they can't give it to me bc they can't get into my Mint account bc someone at Mint screwed up and put the wrong email on my Account ..... If THEY can't find a way to get into an account that they basically own and definitely screwed up, then who the h..l can !!!!!!!!! Sooo here again, I sit with no phone, sooo please tell me what to do ????????
