Final touches on my first PC (build) (second hand parts)

Already posted this build but now it's in its intended form with screen and way better cable management. Case, fans cooler, screen and power supply are the newly bought parts. Everything else was salvaged or bought second hand. (i5-10600, 32gb ddr4, RTX3080 10gb, lian li edge 850 gold, Arctic p12 value pack, 2x 970evo 512 + 256 + sata 256ssd) got this entire build for under 900 euro.

why are my cpu temps bad ?

I have the lian li a3 case with 8700k and 3 case fans but my cpu temps are really bad 90+ while my gpu temps are in the low 60s. maybe its the tempered glass version i have that causes this ?

It's not another A3 :)

Recently downsized from an AP201 (33L) to a Zalman Cubix (17L) for my living room "steam machine". For 60$ CAD I have no complaints, and with some quality of life updates (ie. front fan mount points, full side panel ventilation), Zalman has a real sleeper on their hands for unassuming, no frills, compact living room type PCs, imho.

My modest specs: Seasonic Focus 650W, MSI Pro B550M-VC Wifi, 5700X3D, RX6700XT (max gpu length is 275mm), Thermalright SI-100, 32GB DDR4 3600, 1TB M.2, 80mm fan as exhaust, 120mm as front intake (both static @ ~1000rpm).

I might clean up the cabling a little more at some point, but as none of it is visible externally I'm not exactly pressed.

CPU temps are generally mid 60's to low 70s depending on the game and settings, GPU temps are a bit higher.

Why is finding the best motherboard for gaming with X3D chips so confusing rn

Been planning a new build around an X3D CPU and thought picking the best motherboard for gaming would be the easy part. Yeah not really.

Like every thread says something different.  Some ppl say VRM matters a ton, others say it doesn’t for X3D.
Some swear by certain chipsets, others say it’s overkill. And then you throw MFFPC into the mix and now thermals + spacing become a whole other issue.

I just want something stable that doesn’t run hot or need constant tweaking lol.

How are you guys deciding on the best motherboard for gaming right now? Especially for smaller builds.

May I ask a question on my aio

I have a Lian Li a3 and a 360 aio.

https://youtu.be/92GjKtLKtPc?si=PLUCLWRBe4Rv6uP_

That's the one.
Like this guy says, to get the logo to face the correct way up, I would have to remove the rear exhaust fan and change the direction of the pipes.

I was just wondering, am I better off just leaving the aio logo upside down ? There shouldn't be any issues with that should there ?

Or is the cooling more efficient when it's around the other way and worth losing the rear exhaust fan ?

DeepCool CH270 Digital with a Noctua-build

Since the Lian Li A3 is on backorder here in Norway and I have a giftcard that's burning a hole in my pocket, I needed to find an alternative. Came across the DeepCool CH270 Digital and was instantly intrigued. But I had some questions that I hope that the hivemind could help me with.

My current setup and the one I want to transplant is a NH-D14-build with an RX7700XT for GPU and an R9-5950X as the CPU. The plan was to slap an NF-A12x25 G2-fan into the bottom and two in the top, and then then vertical-mount the D14 so the airflow goes upwards in the case. Also have some other 120mm Noctua-fans flopping about so was planning to use at least one of those in the side panel in order to feed the D14 more cold air.

The issue, however, is this: Would adding two exhaust-fans above the D14 hurt the airflow going upwards in the case, thus negating the use of the two top fans?

In addition, somewhat worried about the monitor-cables adding quite a bit of stress on the connectors on the GPU, and was thus contemplating using 90-degree adapters to alleviate this. How has others done this?

Motherboard Switch - 9800X3D died and I want to buy another one

https://preview.redd.it/g2p7tyjro7ug1.jpg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00febf7a7017946f878ce5479e7b06011ee69987

My 9800X3D died 2 days ago inside a AssRock B850M Pro RS Wifi.
The CPU is already on it's way to AMD and I managed to test the board with another cpu and It's working.

But I don't trust this board anymore and I want to replace it.

I nailed down to two options.

Sapphire B850M Pure/Nitro+

https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/consumer/mb_pure_b850m-wifi

  • Pros:
    • Cheaper
    • Looks great both White and Black
    • Has decent VRM
  • Cons:
    • Only has Wifi6e
    • "New" brand on motherboard space
    • Missing Curve Shaper (techpowerup)

MSI B850 Mortar Wifi

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B850M-MORTAR-WIFI

  • Pros:
    • Great VRM
    • Wifi 7
    • MSI support
  • Cons:
    • Price
    • Ugly green

My main problem with sapphire is that they are new, and with the MSI Mortar it is ugly.

What you guys suggest? any other option? around 200 €
