I have some pens expiring this year and don’t plan on using them
Would it be as to throw them away? I’m assuming I should take them to the pharmacy to dispose of?

Hey everyone,
I’m currently in my second week on Saxenda and using a 1.2 dose. During the first week I experienced quite a bit of nausea, and this week I’ve been dealing with headaches. Still, I’m motivated to push through.
My practice nurse did worry me a bit by saying that 2 out of 3 people regain the weight after stopping. Before starting Saxenda, I had already lost 12 kg on my own and managed to keep it off, so I’m really afraid of gaining everything back once I stop. I used to struggle a lot with “food noise,” which makes this even more concerning for me.
I would really appreciate hearing about others’ experiences and any advice on maintaining a healthy weight long-term without falling back into old patterns. ❤️
I just got the prescription, and I'm reading a lot of stories here where people stop at 1.8 or some other dose than the full 3mg. Have any of you had success with the full dose?
So, I'm early 30s, obese and unhappy, self consious and all the rest of it when it comes to how i look.
I used to weigh about 144 in my late teens....not I'm about 230.
I hate looking at myself in the mirror, actively avoid taking photos and I am the most self consious person when it comes to socialising...and my weight is making that even harder!
I had an over active parathyroid gland, resolved now but was there for about 10 years if not more. MEN negative but thats not to say some other unknown genetic factor was at play (they kept a sample to test in the future if this were to happen as its so rare at my age).
Anyways, My thoughts at the moment (although this could change any given moment i have too much time to think) is that obesity carries so many health risks anyway, whats the harm in trying the medicine?
How do i bring this up with my doctor?
Also, I'd like to get to a good weight by this time next year and spend this time getting my bkdy ready to start a family.
All tips and advice welcome!
Thanks!
Hey there, 41 year old male almost 42 6'1 230(probably a little over that). My weight has steadily been climbing for a couple years and I really press my doctor about glp 1. He seems reluctant to write one of the once weekly options and I can't afford it right now. He came back to me recently and said that he'd be willing to write victoza and that my insurance would cover it. From what I've read online the weight loss effect is relatively minimal. Two to three percent of body fat but I was hoping to hear from people's experience. I kind of was leaning towards telling him not to bother for that low percentage but sometimes people go farther on these medicines than the people in trials. My goal weight is to get back down to 208 but my dream is to get back down to 180. Can people tell me if they think it's worth it?
If I know in advance that a big meal is planned (holiday, celebration, etc) would it be best to skip the daily dose? Would it make me feel hungry again? I am currently on week2 of lowest injection and barely feel any hunger at all. Thanks
I lost 26kg myself, then started taking saxenda (to get my diet moving again) and it worked. I lost about 4kg more with saxenda. Now I have only 1 new pack left. 3 pens.
My daily is 2,4mg. Do I keep 2.4 for whole 3 pens? Or do I taper off slowly and reduce the dosing each week?
I've only been taking it for couple of months. Was only supposed to be a Kickstarter to continue my weight loss. Honestly I never felt liek Saxenda was doing anything. no side effects... kinda always felt like no effects at all. but I did lost 4kg more, so I suppose it either worked or my diet was better!
I don't want to risk it and have more hunger than I had before I started taking it.
What are your experiences?
