If you were in the Liar Game and knew the games beforehand, could you actually win?
I've been thinking about this for a while now, ever since I started watching the anime and reading part of the manga. If you participated in Liar's Game today, knowing exactly which games would be played because you've already read the story, do you think you'd make it to the finals and win the prize?
Sometimes I think that even knowing how the tricks work, the pressure of debt and being lied to would change everything.
Which game do you think would eliminate you? Or do you think spoilers would make it a piece of cake?
Ok, so we all agree that episode 6 was the best episode yet?
The animation was better, the direction finally improved, and the pacing was proper. I loved it, what a fun episode.
Something I Am Working On RN
Idk how the small of version of akiyama is supposed to be looking maybe some suggestions or references by you guys might help 🙂🙂
Mini Nao about to read peak for the first time
“This seems familiar.”
I wasn’t sure if i should paint her dress and flowers cuz it’s giving wedding dress 😭. Let me know what you think.
Contraband Game mistake?
I don't understand why in the 2nd pic, the part circled in red is said.
I thought the plan by Yokoya as stated in the 1st pic was to take the South's ATM card hidden near the North's ATM, withdraw everything, pretend to deposit it in the South ATM but actually hide it in the corridor, and bring it physically to the North side, so that in the end the money would be returned to the North side.
So why does the 2nd pic say the plan is to withdraw money from the South ATM, pretend to deposit it into the North ATM but instead bring it to the North side? There's no money in the South ATM to begin with.
Am I missing something here?
How should I feel about the Nao/Akiyama ship?
The title might sound strange, but is the question really interesting/serious to me? I mean, I know and understand that it’s perfectly normal for two adults character be shipping with each other, but their age difference…like, it's big, but not huge, BUT IN THE SAME TIME, Nao is 18 and Akiyama 28.. and uh.. I hope you understand what I mean by asking this question. Sorry if there has already been such a question in the community.
P.s: in comment corrected me about Akiyama's age (26–27), but it didn't really affect my question.
Minority Rule
Hey everyone, I recently finished an online multiplayer version of the Minority Rule game from the manga. So if you're up for it, try it out
Episode 6 preview images
Episode Title- Initiative
Fukunaga Yuji reveals himself to be "X" and declares victory. He explains that he had set things up so that he would be the last winner, and asserts that Akiyama will never be in the minority. Why was Fukunaga always in the minority and able to advance? Fukunaga reveals his trick and explains the structure of his complete victory. Nao is shocked and in tears at how her trust was cleverly exploited and betrayed. Everyone in the venue who heard the clever plan was convinced of Fukunaga's victory...or so it seemed, but only Akiyama was smiling knowingly. He understood that there was a flaw in the winning strategy, and in order to assess the situation, he had been focusing his attention on "one point" of each participant from the very beginning of the game. How did Akiyama see through "X's" scheme?
MIURA'S ACCENT!! (English dub)
I actually don't know why I'm so obsessed, just happy they gave an accent to someone I guess hahaha! So happy they gave it to one of the characters with more screen time too, can't wait to hear more of him~!
Welcome back to another Liar Game Monday, this week's episode covered chapters 10 to 13 still keeping that 2/3 chapters per episode pace. I just want to add that five episodes in and I'm still not skipping the opening lol.
Firstly, I've seen a lot of criticism of Nao's character, mostly from people who haven't read the manga. I understand some of the comments, as people are used to similar series, such as Tomodachi Game etc. However, I've always found Liar Game to be special because characters like Nao don't instantly succumb to the sadistic nature of the games and become consumed by the thought of victory and deceiving others. I assure you that Nao will develop as a character and devise her own impressive strategies. Her appeal lies in her rejection of the cruel nature of these games and her ability to maintain her morals. Would you change who you are for the worse if it meant obtaining large sums of money? I'm surprised that, in the first game, most people didn't find Nao's decision to give her prize money to the teacher more moving than naive. In any case, please keep watching I assure you the story will only get better and you have a balance with Akiyama who remains stoic and comes up with amazing strategies.
Secondly, I thought the episode itself was great, right behind episode 4 if I were to rank them. I think the character designs are looking better, and the animation is getting smoother. I thought Fukunaga was great, and her reveal went well. I always found it funny when Nao revealed her strategy to people, like the lawyer, and when she spectated the game, chatting with Akiyama about their victory( she's unentionally very funny).I liked the montages with Number 15; they really highlighted him as a super mysterious/scheming player. The S&M scene was pretty well done and made me chuckle a little. I loved Akiyama in this episode. You could see how locked in he was, taking a step back to think about strategy after sensing something was wrong.
Finally, my only criticism is the pacing. Condensing three voting rounds, each of which should take six hours, and a night break seemed too quick for an episode. However, I don't think it took too much away from the episode, but I would've liked to see more moments from the other team members and players during the round. For example, now as a new viewer, I would have been wary of Hitomi/Fukunaga because of her dialogue and screen time compared to the others. That aside, we got another Nao running scene, and the anime ended on another cliffhanger with Fukunaga's reveal. I can't wait for next week, as they should wrap up the Minority Rule game and I personally love how it ended!
Curious to hear everyone's opinion ☺️!
SPOILERS-
It seems Liar Game is going at a breakneck pace, covering about 3 Episodes per Game in order to give Contraband as much breathing room as possible.
I assume the next Episode will wrap the Minority Game up, with the Cliffhanger being either-
>!A- Akiyama saying he will take this Organization down.!<
>!B- Nao being greeted by the lawyer.!<
>!C- Nao deciding whether to go to the Revival Round or not.!<
After that, I think the Downsizing Game cliffhangers will most likely be-
>!Episode 7- Akiyama running to Nao's Rescue!<
>!Episode 8- Nao finally taking the lead.!<
>!Episode 9- CONTRABAND!<
So, I know a lot of people say that Nao's: "stupidity," Is unrealistic, but the thing is, I find that most of the stuff that she falls for is stuff that any average person would as well. In fact, if you DIDN'T fall for this stuff, I think that's actually a red flag on you.
I just want to like break it down.
>!A lot of viewers are trying to say that they would never fall for Fujisawa's trick, but I just don't think that's true. It's easy to SAY you wouldn't fall for it when you're literally watching a show called: 'Liar Game,' And you're used to watching a bunch of anime where characters who seem to be nice turn out to be traitors, but if this was actually real life, I just don't see anyone not falling for this. You're an innocent kid, only 18 years old, was raised in a sheltered environment by a loving father who told you to always stay honest and kind. Then, this whole dash of money falls into your lap and you're told that you're supposed to fight for it, until lo and behold, you find out that your opponent is a teacher who you genuinely trusted back in Middle School. You genuinely formed a bond with them, and they give the advice of stashing all of the money into a safe deposit box.!<
>!Really, the only thing that anyone we're doing that situation that differs from Nao would be to say that you would stash it in your own secret deposit box, but again, that requires you actually believing that Fujisawa would trick you, and up to this point, there's no reason to think that. You have a long history with this person, he's not a stranger, and he even goes on to say that this whole thing is probably a huge scam and explains in detail why he thinks that's the case and what he thinks is going on. So why exactly would you distrust him at that point?!<
>!I remember when I first read the manga, and I didn't even think anything was suspicious about Fujisawa at all UNTIL Nao had given him the money and there was a brief pause. It was like that pause was specifically there for you to have that Revelation that things might not go so easy, but viewers today seem so trained to just assume the worst of literally everybody, that they didn't even have a moment where they actually trusted Fujisawa. It's such a shame that newer viewers don't seem to have that tension that I had when I first read the manga. I remember genuinely hoping that Fujisawa was a good guy, until that creepy face he makes shows up and it becomes blatantly obvious that he's bad.!<
>!As for the lawyer thing, Again, I don't see anyone not falling for it. Sure, his advice was a little trash, but I've even seen newer viewers genuinely say that what the lawyer said was decent advice, so of course you would follow what he says and try to take some Independence and yell at the organization. That's intimidating you. And while you could just turn away when it turns out the lawyer is in on it, it would be scary, because if you miss this game, and it turns out that the legal system can't actually help you against these potential loan Sharks, then you're literally screwed.!<
akiyama, fukunaga, and nao voice actor are brilliant.
i wonder who would be the best fit for yokoya? someone with squeky voice? hehe excited to know who would it be.
I haven't read the Manga but what's wrong with this girl. The game is literally titled " liar Game" and this dumbass gets shock and starts weeping when people lie.
My boy akiyama is such a saint to tolerate this Women. She is as useful as chocolate teapot.
She thinks in binary without contradicting or cross checking her thoughts. Like mate, atleast sit down and think "what you are thinking atm".
She just have to follow akayama instructions word by word and she can't even do that and when plans don't go her way, she starts crying like a 10 year old.
Nah I felt bad in the first episode for her but she is such an annoying character. All hail to her sensei, she deserve this.
Tell me manga readers does she gets better at this game or the whole Anime is going to be akiyama carryjob?
Do you think the new Liar Game anime will adapt the entire manga?
I have my doubts about the pacing they'll use. Do you think we'll see a faithful adaptation from beginning to end, or do you feel like we're in for the dreaded "rush" to cram everything into just a few episodes?
Personally, I'm worried they'll sacrifice depth to the games because of the rush. What do you think?
