MIURA'S ACCENT!! (English dub)
I actually don't know why I'm so obsessed, just happy they gave an accent to someone I guess hahaha! So happy they gave it to one of the characters with more screen time too, can't wait to hear more of him~!

Just wanted to clear something up real quick about yesterday's post/community question: No USERS will be banned for saying anything negative about Nao.
The question is: should a rule be added that bans POSTS about Nao to be made if they offer nothing but insults or questions about if she gets smarter?
The only posts (posts, not people) that would be banned are the repetitive posts that just call Nao stupid with no nuance or real intent for a discussion about her character.
Since multiple people got the idea that people would be outright banned from the sub for not liking Nao I wanted this to be cleared up.
Please continue to leave your votes on the topic in the pinned thread.
I also want to be clear that unless you have a clear vote for either YES or NO, I won't count it.
Thank you all!

The song was recorded before the hiatus and will be used as the theme song for the documentary of the same name!
I wanted to find a way of doing a poll for this (my phone doesn't have enough space for the app) but I feel like there isn't time for that anymore.
The past week we've seen a massive influx in posts that very aggressively complain about Nao as a character.
Many have voiced that this is unconstructive and brings down the mood in the sub.
While there is nothing wrong with feeling annoyed about how certain characters act, it doesn't add anything to the conversation to have a new post calling Nao stupid every 12h, esp when there are a lot already.
So, should a rule be added that bans posts about Nao to be made if they offer nothing but insults or questions about if she gets smarter?
The alternative would be to create a megathread to discuss Nao's character.
This is a majority rule game.
I will give everyone a week, that is until May 14th, to cast their votes.
Please do not start arguments under this post, that is not what we're here for.
Thank you everyone for being here!

Since it's Liar Game Monday I just watched episodes 2 and 3 of the dub and have so many new thoughts and feelings that I want to share that may be helpful for anyone who is considering watching it!
Like some people have talked about before there are a lot of script changes from the Japanese version, but I honestly think this is necessary. The dub is essentially an adaptation, and when you adapt anything you need to make changes to suit your target audience. Just translating Japanese into English directly sounds very stiff, that's just now how we speak in English, so I'm mostly happy with these changes.
Now then, English Akiyama is really growing on me! While Japanese Akiyama keeps his cool monotone voice, English Akiyama is very playful in a way that I was unsure of before but am loving now! When Nao gets the invite for round two and he reads it out loud he says a cheeky little "Oh look, they've included a QR code this time!" and it was delivered in such a playful way that it made me laugh! Same thing when he calls Nao back on the phone and delivers the "What's wrong?" in such a parent or teacher way, it's a lot of fun!
On the other side of the spectrum the man who does Fujisawa really phoned in Episode 3 sadly. The first line of the episode is him yelling " I did it! I won the game!" and there is no energy in it at all, which doesn't work with the exaggerated facial expressions.
The people working for the LGT office are all very different from both the JP version as well. The three men who come to collect the money sound like bored summer workers, the lawyer sounds like a scheming salesman, and Leronira sounds like he is ready to break into a full MOAHAHAHAHA laugh at any time which is great!
All in all I'm getting equally excited to watch the Eng dub episodes as I am the new Japanese episodes honestly! It's like a completely new experience!
Miura had an accent btw, I think he's either English or Australian (He only says one sentence) so I'm really looking forward to that!
Seeing u/jugotochihaya's post made me curious what other moments from the manga everyone are looking forward to seeing adapted in the anime up until the end of the >!contraband game, !<since that's where we know this season will end =)
Big or small!
One that I'm very keen to see is >!when Akiyama first appears in the Downsizing game and sits on the windowsill looking all smug when Nao is crying.!< It'll be fun to see if they keep it that way since to me he was being extremely extra with that pose hahaha!
