Please help with swamp lawn

Hey all, looking for any help or advice on how to deal with my swampy lawn. The lawn is very mushy and seems high in clay. It retains water for days and I’m not able to cut the grass in a specific section because of how bad it is. There is nowhere to drain in the back and my neighbors don’t seem to have the issue like me. Do I need to get the lawn irrigated and raised with soil? Looking for any advice please and thank you!

Edit: I appreciate the recommendations of water gardens and trees but I am trying to keep the sun exposure and improve the soil to fully utilize my yard

My new Bermuda growth is turning light yellow - Phoenix AZ

My Bermuda new growth is turning light yellow. (Phoenix, AZ)

We just bought a new home and I've slowly been removing all the weeds in the Bermuda lawn for the past 4-5 weeks, which was quite a lot.

The empty spots that were all weeds are slowly starting to fill in now which is awesome. I put down around a lb or so per 1000 sq ft of 21-0-0 ammonium nitrate fertilizer to encourage growth and it seems like after a few days my new growth is now turning light yellow.

The established grass doesn't really seem to be affected. It was mid 70's when I put the fertilizer down and I watered it in well till it was all dissolved.

New lawn

I put new topsoil and used Jonathan Green Black beauty seed. This is 5 weeks post spreading I applied magical and starter fertilizer at the same time.
I’m hosting a graduation party @ the end of June and hoping this will fill in decently by then.
Should I be reseeding the more bare spots with annual to get it to thicken up or is it going to fill in? I’m in ct and have mowed it twice. It’s growing well where there is grass but it seems to be patchy.

Please Help Me

Long story short I've got 3 hyper kids and a wild dog and I have tried a lot to make my backyard decent to no avail. I want to get rid of those clumps of green grass. First does anyone know what they're called and how I can kill them? They have crazy strong root bases and suck up all the water. I have used probably a dozen types of weed killer and nothing kills them. I believe I have Bermuda grass under those and I need a type of fertilizer that isn't super expensive that will help that grow. Is there any type of grass I can plant or a fertilizer I can use on what I have to get the grass to grow with kids and a dog playing in the backyard? Any help is appreciated.

Windowpane design in grass

We planted this grass last summer and reseeded some patches in the fall. It's Jonathan green some kind of blend. I am in New York. So far this season I applied prodiamine as a pre-emergent which actually did a pretty decent job although it didn't touch the clover and assorted odds and ends that poked through. gonna apply spectracide weed stop.. I put down a very low application of milorganite a few weeks ago..I had only one bag instead of 2.5. Grass still didn't wake up or really change so about 2 weeks ago I applied sunniland fertilizer. I was left with this beautiful design.

I did research and can understand what might have happened. But what now? Do I try to make the light grass dark green or is it too dark. Did I over apply in the dark spots or did I under apply in light spots.

Is my goal now to fade the dark, or darken the light? I used a Scott spreader and it tipped over in the back hence the small nitrogen burn in the back, the dead circle.

I was thinking of applying one more bag of milorganite concentrating on the lighter areas. Its slow release and wont burrn. Will it darken?

Will it fix on its own?

I also plan on dumping 2 bags of lime As soon as the grass dries. This area has very acidic Soil and I have mos on the side of my house as well.. Will that help with the color or it's more of a long-term thing Will that help with the color or it's more of a long-term thing

I welcome suggestions. Thank youI

edit: I don't have a dog but deer and groundhogs/maybe raccoons regularly traipse across, and sometimes leave droppings.

What am I doing wrong?

I’m in southern TX, just moved to a new place, and the lawn care has been rough. I noticed there are a lot of June bugs here so I spread some June bug killer in the soil thinking their grubs were eating up the roots of the lawn. Next because of the clay I decided to core aerate and then spread a thin layer of compost into the soil to help with the soil quality.
I water twice a week, running two cycles each day; once at 3am, and again at 4am, the idea being that having two shorter watering sessions will allow time for the clay soil to better absorb the moisture. It has also been the rainy season here, so it’s getting a little extra water every now and then, and I keep the mower up on level 4 but still seems to be the same cruddy color it was in winter and seems to not really be growing in at all, just staying half alive. Pretty sure the grass is Bermuda. I’ve been working at trying to cultivate this lawn for about 2 months now (basically since the growing season began) while preemptively spraying weeds over the colder months to get a head start on getting rid of weeds. I have successfully exterminated 98% of dandelions and 100% of the thistles that way. Anyways any tips and advice appreciated.

Yard has come a long ways in 3 weeks

I’ve been watering 3 times per week, put out Triple 13 right after first pics were taken. Didn’t get it put out evenly in some areas I think I need to check the calibration of my spreader. But the yard has greened up nicely so far. In Arkansas

First two treatments down and the yard is looking pretty darn good compared to previous years. Wish I could find some previous years photos. Haven't fertilized my lawn in about 8 years though. I have a fairly large dog and 3 kids so I gave up on the bare spot seeding this year and did fertilizer.

What kind of grass is this? It’s growing great! But of course the only area I don’t want it to.

Hi all, I’m new to gardening and would like some advise please.

Moved into house at the end of last year and just got a lawn mower two weeks ago. I gave the garden a mow and it seems I have potentially cut it too short (see pic)

I was recommended getting some miracle grow to help remove the moss and get the grass healthier.

Do you agree that it’s needed?

Unknown Weed in my St Augustine - Phoenix, AZ

This crap seems to be widespread in about 25% of my backyard lawn. With temperatures settling in to near or above 100° I’m not sure what to do. I would appreciate any tips. I’ve had this lawn for 25 years and I Overseed annually with rye grass. I noticed some last year but it appears to be getting worse.

(Eastern Pennsylvania)

Purchased this home about one year ago and decided to hire the same small lawn guys the previous owner used. Last year they re seeded the whole yard and now there are tons of yellow straw like patches popping up all over. Yesterday we decided to take matters into our own hands and I pulled up some of the soil in a couple patches and found a decent amount of grubs but it doesn’t seem like a full infestation. There also appears to be any hills scattered around.

I could use any help I can get as this is my first yard to take care of on my own. Can the grubs be the main culprit here or do we have another issue at hand?

Can anyone recommend a game plan to bring this yard back to life?
