I don’t know if you guys remember a little while ago when there was a hoarding situation that overwhelmed the Kitsap County animal shelter, and U/KickinCoyote was generous enough to offer beadwork for anyone who donated to help the animals.

I donated and let u/KickinCoyote know, and just said some general things that I enjoy so they could just have some idea of what to do creatively for the beading.

I received it today and I am smiling so hard. The sand dollar keychain, the heart connector, the lanyard that fades from the color of the sand to the waves to the ocean to the sunset.

It is absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t be happier!! Especially knowing the donation went to the animals and u/KickinCoyote was gracious enough to donate their time and supplies and skills to create something so beautiful that sums up all of my favorite things in life. Thank you for your heart, for sharing your skills, and for ultimately saving who knows how many animals lives with your post. 💕

Thank you so much!!!

Mother’s Day medallion - my second medallion attempt

Finally finished my second ever medallion, and got it done for my mom just in time for Mother’s Day! I’ve been so inspired by everyone’s amazing work in this sub that I thought I’d give it another try. I’m still kinda starting out, and I definitely learned so much through this process. I KNOW there are many different choices I would make if I ever redid this 😂

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing Indigenous mothers out there. You carry the world on your shoulders, and we would be nowhere without you!

My first time beading

My son requested beadwork for his gustoweh. I couldn't find what he wanted so decided to make it myself. It is obviously not done but I may have found a new favourite hobby.

What my son wants me to bead for his graduation.

Should I add the white splotches? I’m not sure if I want to because if I add them they won’t look like splotches, they’ll look like spots.

Hi all, my Auntie is looking for the artist who made this beaded set. She has part of the set, but is looking for the crown. All I get in my search is an Etsy page that doesn’t exist anymore.

Thank you!

Hi, I am very new to the bead scene and want to try incorporating some of my Salish and Cree heritage into my work. I am non status and have been struggling to get in contact with either side, in the mean time I wanted to find other ways to connect and understand my roots.

Is there any rules I should be aware of, like certain colours to avoid with certain patterns. On top of that any explanation on why certain patterns or colours are used would be greatly appreciated. From what I could find online they don't give much reason for the patterns or colours, just a big no no to dream catchers.

I'd appreciate any advice and guidance.

Does anybody have a recommendation for where to buy porcupine quills? The suppliers I know/trust have been sold out for a while, so I'm trying to find an ethical source to buy from online in the meantime. I'm located in Canada and would like to buy from a site here.

Wanìshi thanks!
