Mother’s Day medallion - my second medallion attempt

Mother’s Day medallion - my second medallion attempt

Finally finished my second ever medallion, and got it done for my mom just in time for Mother’s Day! I’ve been so inspired by everyone’s amazing work in this sub that I thought I’d give it another try. I’m still kinda starting out, and I definitely learned so much through this process. I KNOW there are many different choices I would make if I ever redid this 😂

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing Indigenous mothers out there. You carry the world on your shoulders, and we would be nowhere without you!

Found in Eastern US. Is this lambsquarters? Not too familiar with foraging this one. What are the tells between young lambsquarters and young nightshades?

I know this is wisteria. Found on the East Coast in the US. Has a wonderful scent reminiscent of a butterfly pea flower and grape. It seems to meet the requirements for American wisteria, but I just wanted to get confirmation for this over other wisteria species.

Does anyone also know anything about the edibility of the flowers (I DO NOT plan on consuming, just curious)? I know the rest of the plant and bean pods are poisonous, but I was curious about the flowers.

My great uncle made these a long time ago and gave them to my cousin, who just gifted them to me. I love them, so I thought I’d share!
