Baby in egg hasn’t had his first thought yet

so I have a clutch of hognoses, the first one pipped yesterday (the baby in the bottom left side) and I slit the eggs today so all the babies could come out when they’re ready (my first clutch so I wanna give these guys the best chance of survival incase any of them had lost or were missing an egg tooth).

The baby in the top middle apparently wasn’t appreciative of the help though and just made another one himself, and honestly it’s hilarious that hognoses still have the exact personality of a hognose even when they’re like an hour old lol.

included other pics of the first baby to hatch when he was a bit further out (he‘s not very brave yet and got frightened when I went to look at his siblings, I can’t blame him, again he’s less than a day old)

My boy's not eating :(

Hello, I want to first thank everyone who offers advice in advance. I got my boy Sammy almost exactly a year ago (1 year on the 15th) and I was so happy because he was a fantastic eater even though I had heard boys were especially picky. I had originally wanted a lady for that reason, but I fell in love with him and wouldn't trade him for the world. But back to the actual problem. Sammy ate through the winter and everything was going great, until 7-8 weeks ago he started to refuse meals. I mostly tong feed him, unless he doesn't immediately take it and then I drop feed him. I've tried countless things to get him to eat; putting him in his log and then putting the food at the entrance so he has to slither over it, putting him in a separate container, scenting with tuna. I understand that the cold weather can make the hogs go on strike, but it's been warming up where I live and I thought that this is wake up time for them.

As for my husbandry, his basking spot is about 92°F, his warm side is about 84°F, and his cool side is about 74°F. His tank is clean, and his water is always filled and fresh. He has lots of silk leaf clutter and 4 hides scattered through his 20 gallon enclosure. He weighed 48g just before the last meal he ate, and he weighed 47g today. He's not lethargic, and he actually likes my music so he comes and watches/listens when I clean my room. His humidity looks good too. I'm just not sure what's wrong.

Oh, and here's pictures of Sammy and his tank.

Teeny tiny baby

This is the first scaley love of my life, Mesa. He is a teensy tiny little guy hatched in August of 2025. When I got him in the middle of February, he was 8 grams. Now, he’s hanging around 10-11 grams depending when I weigh him, and I know people say if they’re eating and drinking and pooping, their weight isn’t all that important.

I have yet to see him shed. His size concerns me, and I don’t know if a little less than 2 months is an abnormal time frame to not see a shed. As for eating, he is relatively consistent, we did run into a hunger strike from March 18th - April 7th, but he did eat on the 7th. He is a little lavender and I am just in love with him. Does he have an okay prognosis with life? He is active, likes to burrow, and I’ve seen him drink as well. Any advice is appreciate. I do also plan on scheduling him a vet appointment for an overall check.

Edit to add, basking temp is around 90, cooler side around 76. Humidity hangs around 40%.

Feeding choice help needed

My hognose snake (3 and a half year old) has always had issues with feeding. there was a time where he would only eat salmon, and he would always randomly refuse food for 2~1weeks even when he’s not shedding.

he NEVER eats frozen mice, we have to get a living one from local reptile stores .

But recently, he finally began eating normally (mice once a week). Should i attempt feeding a frozen mice or will that mess things up again?😞🤔

Axanthic, 50% Het Sable 🔵

Last years hogs are getting to nice sizes now. Eating regularly on F/T fuzzies, and as you can see, they have no complaints! 😁
