Upgrades stopped

I've been flying blue gold or (mostly) platinum for the last 18 years or so. Sadly in an order which means I will not get platinum for life. Anyway, I've noticed a steep decline in the amount of times I get upgraded in recent years. Around 10 years ago it used to be very very common for me. To the point where it would happen almost every single air France flight. Now it basically never happens. Has anyone else noticed this?

Question about Platinum and the 300XP for the year after

Hi everyone

Just a quick question here that got me confused, and that I had trouble finding an answer for

I'm currently platinum until the end of July 2026

I already have 305 XP so my account says ''Congratulations, Platinum kept because 300XP reached before 2026-07-31.''

Now my question is: what would happen if I earned more XP by, for example, buying some SAF?

Will it add more to the rollover, or would it be a waste?

Meaning, on 2026-08-01, would I start at 0 XP again, or would I have even more added on top?

Thank you for helping a confused person out

Understanding reward fares

Can anybody explain how you can ever receive the quoted fare in terms of miles? Whenever I try and book one of these return fares it turns out to only be one way so it ends up costing double. I don’t understand why they show some as one-way and some as return if they are all one way?

Seems like on BA with avios I can quite easily find actual reward flights easily, which cost relatively few points/miles, but on flying blue it seems to make no sense.

It seems like there is a new policy as of this week that you can extend your expiration date simply by shopping in the portal, even for something very very inexpensive.

I want to make sure I am not crazy in thinking that they would extend my expiration date for the huge amount of miles I have before I buy something.

The website says

Extend the validity of your Miles or explore ways to spend them

You can extend the validity of your Miles for 2 years when you complete a flight with Air France, KLM or one of our 32 airline partners around the world. Or you can use your Miles to book a reward ticket.

If you're not ready to plan your next journey you can make each day a journey of its own with Flying Blue! Shop at the Flying Blue store

Thanks

I’m a bit confused about how choice benefits work and hoping someone can clarify.

If you reach 600 XP, you get a bonus of 20 extra XP. But when the year resets, only up to 300 XP can roll over. So does that mean the extra 20 XP just gets lost if you’re already near the cap?

Am I misunderstanding how this works, or is that actually the case?

Help Lap Infant Price Crazy on KLM

adding a lap infant to the business flight. i now understand that they price it on the most expensive ticket available. You can buy a ticket for about $6k in business so it should be $600 but they want $1300 because the most expensive ticket is $13k. is there anyway around this to get a fare that is less expensive than them pricing based on most expensive fare? I've read they price is off refundable business J fare. hopefully there is some better option?

Is there any way to get discount on Air France ticket?

I go to France from Korea once a year.
And I always bring my small dog in the cabin, so it’s much more expensive.

And I’m thinking to go to France at the end of May, the tickets are so expensive because of the war.

Is there any way I can get discount?

I have a sibling who is flight crew, but her airline doesn’t allow pets in the cabin. So not available.

Flying blue silver on Korean Air

I’ve been researching and couldn’t really find a concrete answer.

I have Flying Blue Silver and planning to take Korean Air for ICN-Manila flight. Since Korean Air is part of Skyteam, is the perk an additional bag or just additional kgs?

Any input would be much appreciated!

I’ve been experiencing this issue consistently whenever I try to log in to my Flying Blue account. I tested multiple browsers and checked my spam folder, but the PIN never arrived. As a workaround, I created a new account using a non‑Gmail email address, and I was able to receive the PIN immediately. This makes me suspect the issue may be related to Gmail addresses, though I can’t say for certain. If you’re not receiving your PIN, try using a different email address... it worked for me. Hope this helps!

The challenge: I’m looking to buy flights for a trip with some friends with my miles. My girlfriend would join me at the end and we would come back together. She doesn’t have enough miles to book her flights and I would like to pay part of her flights with my miles.
We also want to book our return flights together so we can book the same class at a good price.

What’s the best way to approach this? Transfer miles? The family transfer option?

I'm traveling in a month with my 10m old and we'll likely be travelling one or more times a year going forward, so I would like to set up an account for him before he turns two. He's booked with a child 2-11 ticket so he has his own seat as opposed to the infant lap ticket. When I booked, I just input the wrong year of birth then called to change it, so can I do the same with the flying Blue account since it wont let me make an account for a child under 2?
