M/41/6’0” [72kg/159lbs] (5 years)

41 years old
183 cm (6’0”)
72 kg (159 lbs)

Training 4 days per week in my home gym. Posting a current physique update and my current routine. Always interested in constructive feedback, especially from other lifters in their 40s.

Main focus has been consistency, recovery, and staying lean while gradually improving overall shape and strength.

A weak point seems to be legs/glutes despite working them regularly.

Current routine includes:

Chest / Shoulders

  • Dumbbell incline bench press (20° and 45°)
  • Dumbbell incline flys
  • Behind-the-neck press
  • Dumbbell overhead press

Lower Body

  • Landmine belt squat
  • Bulgarian split squat
  • Romanian deadlifts (RDLs)
  • Hip thrusts
  • Weighted calf raises

Back / Pull

  • Weighted pull-ups
  • T-bar rows
  • Unilateral T-bar rows

Arms

  • Preacher curls (EZ bar)
  • Preacher hammer curls

Cable work

  • Cable lateral raises
  • Cable reverse flys
  • Cable tricep pushdowns
  • Cable face pulls

Core & Cardio

  • Criss-cross sit-ups
  • 160 minutes of LISS weekly on the elliptical

19m amateur bodybuilder

Yo bros. Been training since I was 11, now I’m 19. Feels like I’ve hit my natural limit genetically despite training/eating seriously for years.

For guys who made the jump from natty to gear: was it worth it?

4 Weeks Out from NIFMA contest.

My first ever comp. Currently sitting at 77kg this morning. Started at 120kg 18 months ago. Might be a bit off the mark but going for it anyway. Severely depleted atm

Prep has officially started, 16 week out🔥 height 5”6.5 weight 87.4kgs

Still getting used to the posing trunks as they only got them a week ago😂 and posing will require tweeks as the weight comes down

Currently in a health phase until the last week of June, and a septoplasty operation pencilled in on the 25th of June😅

Probably around 9-10kg to chip off, with anticipated loaded weight being around 82kgs, which is very close to my classic weight cap🤞🏻

Very excited to test myself in PCA and NPC to see how I stack up! The top level UK amateurs are only slightly intimidating😂

1 year apart, and worked up to 500calories more. This is after having lost over 100lbs in previous years.

How do you determine if you have a 6 pack or an 8 pack? I am not sufficiently lean to see all my abs, but what does it seem like from this picture? Is the big blocky structure under my belly button 2 more abs? Do I have the potential for an 8 pack?
