A former SIA executive who became Air India's CEO has stepped down. How much is Singapore Airlines losing constantly for their ownership of 25.1% in Air India?

> Air India's chief executive officer Campbell Wilson has resigned as the airline deals with challenges, including financial losses and the aftermath of a deadly crash last year that killed 260 people.

> Wilson, whose term was set to end in 2027, will stay in the role until a successor is appointed, Air India said.

> A former Singapore Airlines executive, Wilson was brought in to lead a turnaround after Tata Group bought Air India from the Indian government in 2022 following years of losses.

> The airline said that Wilson told Air India Chairman N Chandrasekaran in 2024 that he wanted to step down in 2026 and that he had been working to ensure the organisation was "on a stable footing for the transition".

How much is Singapore Airlines losing constantly for their ownership of 25.1% in Air India and how many years has that been?

Anyone left corporate to start a business in SG?

Greetings to fellow redditors :)

I've graduated from university in 2023 and have spent the past three years working in a sales role.

The truth is - I don't hate what I do. It's stable, structured, and I've learned a lot. But at the same time, it doesn't quite bring me a sense of satisfaction or fulfillment. It feels like something is missing, even though everything looks "right" on paper.

For as long as I can remember, I've always imagined building something of my own. I've realized that I'm naturally drawn to work where I can be more hands-on. Where I'm involved in the process end-to-end, not just one part of a larger machine. The corporate environment has its strengths, but I often find myself craving more ownership, creativity, and direct impact.

I've been seriously considering starting something small. Perhaps an e-comms business or even an F&B concept. (Something that doesn't require a huge sum of capital) But being in SG, I've also heard all the practical realities. The market is competitive, costs are high, and it's genuinely hard to make it.

At the same time, I've heard just as many stories-people who tried, failed, and had to start over.

People who eventually felt pressured to fall back into the same system they were trying to step out of.

Would greatly appreciate any first-hand experiences or thoughts shared 🤝🤝

What do i do if my girlfriend is out of my league?

My gf and I are both 17 this year, starting poly in diff schools. I’m going NYP and she’s in TP, and what I heard from my friends is that TP is a very party culture and hookup culture school. And I have to admit my gf is very conventionally attractive, way out of my league, and I don’t know how to deal with her possibly getting hit on by other guys in her new school. Help please.

How to protect myself from an opportunistic follower/stalker?

I have had several run-ins with a man who works near my residence (identified by his uniform). For at least 2 of these encounters, he would stop to follow me, often loitering around the neighborhood shop/ wherever I am running my errand, but it was always a ‘grey area’ because these are populated spots/ public spaces. Today, we cross paths again, and I saw him from the opposite direction. As usual, I made a conscious effort to walk by the back gate of my apartment so that he doesn’t spot where I live. However for the first time, I spotted him from the corner of my eye as I entered the back entrance. Am feeling quite shaken up, because 1) he made a u-turn from his original route, and made a considerable distance towards a residential only area 2) he now knows where I live. What can I do to protect myself in the future ?

Local SG colleagues and managers rather side with new CECA hires to pwn other Sinkies in workplace politics

They are more threatened by and afraid of other local Sinkies than the new CECA hire to the extent that they would rather side with that CECA to pwn other Sinkies rather than help their fellow Sinkies.

They go ask their new CECA hire to stir up political drama for their fellow Sinkie colleagues, and make life as diffcult for them as possible, including spying on their fellow Sinkies and catch any mistakes (no matter how small) they might make etc.

Of cos the CECA will have no qualms 'helping' out to pwn other Sinkies.

They hope they can turn the CECA and their fellow Sinkie colleagues against each other.

How do u call such a person that stirs such shit, especially when its involves a forigen national against your own local sinkie?

Is buying things from Taobao really better than just using Shopee?

I have friends buying all sorts of stuff from Taobao like shirts and furniture etc, but all of these things can also be bought from Shopee, and many of them ship from China also.

Since everything’s from China anyway, is there a difference? Plus I heard Taobao need to arrange for shipment or storage?

Why do developed economic Asian countries like Singapore, China, Japan , Korea etc have stressful childhood?

Compared to our eatern counterparts, it seem that we have very cutthroat competition for students for education and work. For instance, SG have psle, O Levels, A levels etc and psle at a young age.

Our western counterparts are having fun playing around, having parties, doing meth and having fun while we have to study for psle.

And even though everyone studied and passed these examinations, getting a job offer isn't really easy especially with this economy. In China and Japan, you have to work very long hours from 9am to 9pm. in japan after work, you have to go drinking with your boss and collegues and you cant refuse it coz it will.affect your job.

This all seem very toxic. Western countries have very good work life balance. Why are Asian countries not implementing any labour laws or good wlb?

Can someone enlighten me?

Arranged shopee return, but no courier pick up. Am I going to get my refund?

Hi, I bought a table via shopee and topped up extra money for installation. Seller turns out to be in China and despite claiming he had arranged installation, nobody came. I requested a refund through the dispute centre and shopee agreed. Pick up was arranged, I left my items outside my door, but it has been 2 days and nobody came. Went through different live chat agents to complain but all I got was a bot-like generic respond like how they will prioritise my pick up, and claimed if the return lapsed, I can still “reraised” the refund. Tried to call but the call will always get cut off.

Now I’m not confident that shopee truly prioritise my pick up. Besides going down to their office to bang table, what other resolution do I have just to get back my $200+?

Is there room in Singapore for a Filipino herbal tea brand?

Would you buy a Filipino herbal tea brand in Singapore?

Not the usual matcha or bubble tea, this would be more like pandan, lemongrass (tanglad), ginger, butterfly pea, etc. Mostly caffeine-free and positioned as a wellness drink. The brand also highlights sustainability and supports farming communities in the Philippines.

Curious to hear your honest thoughts:

Is this something you’d actually drink, or does it feel too niche?

Do you think Singapore’s tea market is already too saturated for something like this?

What would make you try it—taste, health benefits, branding, price?

Where would you realistically buy this (Shopee, cafés, supermarkets, etc.)?

Be as honest as possible—even if it’s negative 🙏 would really help with understanding if this idea is viable.
