Small crochet business potential?

I’ve done a somewhat “soft launch” of some my crocheted handbags just for fun one night (i.e. just thought I’d run a few ideas through chat and created an instagram page). I’ve had about 10~12 orders over a span of a week and a half. Could these clutch handbags have potential for me to really invest in starting a small business? I’m honestly struggling to commit to starting something like this and don’t know if I should. My husband hypes me up but he’s my husband, it’s kind of a requirement 😂🥲

Second photo shows example of hardware. I’ve been giving inquirers options of gold or silver along with preferred length of chain (photo examples 2 & 3).

Please be nice. 🥲

Hi everyone! I am looking to make this cardigan to wear during the spring and summer when I want to wear less than the zip ups I usually wear. I was wondering what kind of yarn would be best to make this out of? I live in California is where it gets into the 100s so a nice breathable yarn would be nice. I’ve heard that weight 3 yarn is good, and also natural fibers like cotton and bamboo, but I’m struggling to find both in one yarn, especially a yarn with a cute color. So should I prioritize yarn type or yarn size more for something like this? I really don’t want to have to order online because I’m picky with the way things feel, and there are no locally owned yarn shops near me, but I do have access to a hobby lobby and a Micheal’s. Any help at all will be amazing, thank you!

I really want to make these cute critters, plus others that I bought from this seller on Etsy. But I'm not sure about the yarn. I've never used chenille before and I've heard horror stories about how awful it is to work with. I'd consider myself slightly better than beginner, but definitely not intermediate. I've done a couple Woobles, several scarfs, a couple half finished blankets (I swear I'll finish them... someday) and some coasters.

So my questions are:

  1. What would you suggest for yarn for these critters?

I strongly suspect I'll need to frog at several points. Have you used Wolan's Bunny Baby yarn or KingCole Yummy yarn? Does it work up easily? If not chenille, what type of yarn should I be looking for?

  1. Where should I go to buy the yarn I want?

I'm in the US. There's a Michael's and Hobby Lobby by me, but not really anything else. Any online stores that you'd recommend?

Thanks so much for your help!

I have the orange and teal clover stitch markers, and I have some I bought from Amazon in a much larger quantity. The Amazon ones I got serve their purpose, but at the time I bought them, I didn’t realize some markers might be “harder” or less flexible than others.

Now I’ve lost enough of them (LOL) that I’m ready to buy some new ones, and I’m hoping not to repeat the same mistake. Worst case, I will buy more Clover ones, but they only come in packs of 20 and I need…. Many markers sometimes.

Does anyone have any direct links to locking stitch markers that are “soft” or more flexible like the Clover ones? I believe I’m looking for a “medium” size marker.

I hope that description makes sense lol, some are easier to open and close, and some open farther, resulting in less snags on my work. The more rigid and cheaper markers also don’t open quite as far, so they’re more likely to catch my stitches while I’m removing them.

I do also use Bobby pins (big and mini lol!) but am looking specifically for the little oval padlock shaped markers right now!! TIA!

Hoping for some guidance. I'm making a rectangular purse but I'm having trouble with getting my corners to be a clean 90°. All single crochet. This is the base and I've slipped stitched on the top to start the walls. I've pulled this apart 3 times as my corners aren't coming out right. I'm doing two sc with chain 1 between. Seems right but I may be doing too many stitches. When you get to the SC at the end, do I skip the last sc and do the two single crochet+ chain right in the corner? Then skip the SC after then continue? It's hard to explain. Thank you!

I'm currently struggling with this pattern on Instagram and I have no idea how to do the 2nd edging (it's the green one in the pattern photo)

And the pattern there is supposed to be (dc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, tr, picot, picot, tr, dc) but no matter how I improvise the pattern (see pictures 3 to 5) I just can't get the result to look like the picture

And if anyone ask why did I skip some of the stitches: I thought since I was starting from the front loops of R7 (which is 84 in total, since that's the amount of "heads" of the stitches from R6) so I thought I was supposed to make 7 repetitions of 12 stitches, which makes 84 in total. But as you see in the pictures, idk what I'm supposed to do with the picot stitch (I know how to do the picot stitch in general but not how to apply the picot in this specific pattern/project)

I was wondering what everyone does to help minimize neck pain and poor posture. I’ve started making sure I sit at my table so my arms are up but still finding myself looking down a lot and having more neck and shoulder pain. I do try and stretch and move but even with that I get achy. I love this hobby and I want to be able to do it for years to come. Wondering if those pillows or stands are worth it or just any advice is welcome! Thanks.

Help with absurd pattern of crochet kit of frog from five below

I’m relatively new to crochet. I’ve made a couple of small amigurumi pieces. Ive also made a blanket, and I’ve been working on granny squares lately.

My best friends daughter wants to learn how to crochet, and got a kit for her birthday. I want to make some videos for her to walk her through how to make it so they gave me the kit. I CANNOT make sense of this pattern.

It would be amazing if someone could tell me if there is a way to make this frog out of the absolute trash instructions provided. Or tell me if I’m crazy and I should be able to figure this out. If possible, I’d like to make the tutorial videos and use this as a lesson that you can’t trust every pattern and you have to improvise sometimes.

Best yarn for crochet summer tops/tank tops — cotton or bamboo?

Hi everyone! I want to make some lightweight summer crochet tops/tank tops and I’m confused about which yarn to choose — 100% cotton or bamboo yarn.

I’ve read mixed opinions online. I mainly want something that: feels soft on the body, is breathable for hot weather, works well for lightweight tank tops/camis, doesn’t become too heavy or saggy after wearing

This will also be my first wearable project, so I’d really appreciate beginner-friendly yarn recommendations too.

Would you recommend:

100% cotton

100% bamboo

or a cotton-bamboo blend?

Also, if you have any favorite yarn brands for summer wearables, please share them!”

Help! Which is the inside and which is the outside?

I'm using chenille for the first time, and doing yarn under for the first time. It's (hopefully) going to be an owl when I'm done. Which is the wrong side and which is the right side? I need to BLO for my next round so I'm stuck. Thanks for your help!

How to make a blanket bigger from original pattern?

I found a tutorial to make a blanket but want to make it bigger all around. It’s a Suzette stitch with a shell border. The instructions say 84 for the original chain and 81 rows. Multiples of an even number is what the instructions say but I don’t understand multiples. Can I just add 10 chains to the original 84 and then 10 rows? How will that affect the border?
