After the 2.1 update - 7X

This is for those of you who own a 7X that experienced driving the car both pre and post update. I'm in New Zealand and yet to het the 2.1 update.

What is have noticed tho, tjat the ride quality is exceptionally poor on cruise control. It isnt smoot and feels like the car is jerking like it is accelerating and braking to maintain speed.

I notice this as I also drive a Polestar 2 and the ride quality in that car is perfect.

I did wonder if this is related to all drive versus front wheel drive in my Polestar.

Another thing is the vehicle distance when on adaptive cruise control. It just doesn't seem to work at all - just keeps a really big distance between me and the car in front which i see other cars on the road to change lanes and take that gap.

Cheers.

PSA: How to turn off ACC/NZP

I had a reply to my comment on another post, stating that many people are complaining about the jerky nature of disabling ACC/NZP. I do not know how many people actually encounter this issue, but for the sake of your cars, please read ahead.

They stated that they were using the brakes to disable it, which resulted in too much braking and that they were using the accelerator to cancel it out.

This is not the correct usage; the system treats this as emergency braking; as it should.

The correct way to cancel ACC/NZP is to move the stalk upwards once. This will cancel whichever system you're in.

It will only engage reverse if you're stationary.

Hey there, everyone so I am in the market for a car in Bangkok, Thailand and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this particular brand I’m looking at their Zeekr X model standard and flagship is what I’m caught in between i’m open to another car or another brand recommendation. There is one more other brand that is MG 4 2026 it’s much cheaper than the one I’m looking at I mean if it’s as good as car or if not better then why not I went to do a test drive, but there was none available. I’m really picky about suspension and when the car is on the road, I want to be as soft as it can get in my range. if anyone has any experience with these two cars, please help a fellow human out, thanks!

Zeekr UAE Software Update

I've purchased a 7X performance and it is currently on version 2.0.3 here in the UAE. Really happy with the car so far, but facing some minor issues:

  1. Remote AC Turning Off Upon Arrival - I expect it to stay on when I'm physically entering the car.
  2. Air-Conditioning Settings are Reset - After adjusting the vent direction and flow mode, the vehicle doesn't remember it the next time.
  3. Wi-Fi Password Memory (iPhone Tethering) - I connect to the Wi-Fi from my phone, but need to enter the password every time.

When will the UAE see the latest update? I’ve heard Europe is already on 2.1.2. At this rate, their cars will be flying while mine is still trying to remember its Wi-Fi password. Help a neighbor out!

Insurance - Zeekr7x

Hi All,

I have a Zeekr 7x on order (ordered start of April, due for delivery in July).

I'm doing a self-maintained novated lease for the running costs so will be sourcing my own Insurance.

A few questions:

  1. People with a novated lease, do you have Gap Insurance? If so, is it through the same car insurer or a different insurer?

  2. If no, are there insurers out there that will increase the agreed value to cover the gap. Looking at RACV and a few others the agreed value seems to max out at around $80,000 for a Zeekr 7X AWD. However, on a 5 year lease the total finance payments + residual equate to roughly $99,000. Wondering whether it is a better option to try to find an agreed value quote of $99,000 for the first year (and then drop down to the total owing for year 2), or whether specific gap insurance would be cheaper?

  3. My main worry around the value is that from a bit of information I have sourced, some insurers offering new for old replacements in the first 2 or 3 years, seem to be indicating that under their PDS, the wording of "same make, model, engine size" does not qualify for a Zeekr 7X AWD if a facelift model with a 900kw engine comes out to replace the 2026 Zeekr 7x. Does anyone have any further information on this? Any confidence that the vehicle would likely be replaced new for old in these policies?

  4. In these policies, if the new vehicle is not easily attainable within a few months, it seems like they will fall back onto agreed value / market value. This seems extremely likely given the wait time on EV's (and in particular Zeekr's).

I just don't want to pay for new for old or be stuck in a situation where a total loss claim is denied for a new for old and then be stuck at an agreed value or market value and have potentially $15,000 - $20,000 out of pocket to pay the financer.

Any advice or real life situations where this has come up with the insurer or novated lease would be greatly appreciated.

If you owned your car before the 2.1 update, what difference have you noticed to the power steering in comfort mode or in any other mode, after upgrading to 2.1?

Suspension failure /9X

My car had been parked in my mother in laws driveway for 10 days while I was on holiday. On coming back this bump stop was near the left side front wheel.

Is this an actual Zeekr part that somehow fell off? Or did by random chance someone driving by lose a bump stop and it rolled next to my car?

Any help is much appreciated!
