Title : [Xiaomi 17 Ultra / Leitz Phone] Critical bug Telephoto lens motor freezing / not moving anymore Please report it officially

Hey everyone,

A critical bug has been confirmed on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra (Global) and the Leitz Phone Edition: the telephoto lens motor stops working, causing the lens to no longer move.

This results in the camera being unable to focus at zoom levels above 3.2x and in some cases, the camera app crashes entirely after clearing cache.

We got confirmation today that Xiaomi is aware of the issue and their team is investigating. The fix priority depends directly on the number of official reports they receive, so every report counts.

How to report (takes 2 minutes):

- Open the "Services & Feedback" app (pre-installed on your device)

- Describe the issue: telephoto lens not moving / camera unable to zoom above 3.2x

- Attach a screen recording or logs if you can reproduce it

The more of us report it through official channels, the faster it gets escalated and patched.

Don't just comment here please take the time to submit a report.

Thanks 🙏

WiFi keeps disconnecting randomly on my Xiaomi 17

Hi everyone, I've got a Xiaomi 17 in the last months and I keep getting disconnected from my WiFi randomly during the days.

My router is WiFi 7, and it works well with my other devices too.

Many people said that they have the same issue, so it's not hardware related since it works flawlessly with Android Auto, older WiFi and WiFi Direct.

I've tried to set MLO, Band Steering off, WPA3 only and static IP but still this problem occurs.

I reported it via the Feedback app but the support replied to me to provide more log (which I sent again with a video) and still no response.

Here is the video recorded of the problem: https://imgur.com/a/QFnp1bJ

Hello

I bought the Ugreen Finder Pro compatible Android + IOS but I can't connect it to my Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, I tried to check sone answers through AI but nothing working so far.

So it's just due to the Chinese rom and its restriction or I am missing something else ?

Thanks for your help

Hello, I have some questions considering the chinese and global versions. The base global Xiaomi 17 is way more expensive compared to the chinese Xiaomi Pro or Pro Max. I'm looking for a good upgrade but seeing the prices makes me want to go for the Xiaomi 17 Pro more.

I don't use Android Auto, any AI features or Hey Google. My concern about the chinese versions is if it will have issues on apps like YouTube, Instagram etc. and banking apps. I'm based in Italy right now if it helps, bank I use is revolut.

What's most important to me is a reliable battery, no camera lag or any obvious lag when using apps. I don't really like big phones so the pro max really is probably not what I'll be going for, unless the other ones have some big issues. Apart from debloating it, I don't wanna tamper with it.

So... Should I get the Xiaomi 17 global version, the Xiaomi 17 pro, or even the pro max? And why?

If anyone has experience with any of these phones please share it, be it positive or negative!

Xiamoi 17 von Galaxy S22

Hi!

Xiaomi 17 Global display issue. When l press sound buttons the screen glitches randomly. It also rarely happens while scrolling. It is brand new. I tried updating and factory resetting but no luck. Anybody had this kind of problem?

I will try to keep it short. I decided to try the 17U mainly due to the New Super Hi-Dynamic Range Camera sensor as I use a Phone Camera to Make a lot of Video Content so I want the best I can get.

I previously/currently have a Samsung S25U which is my main phone. Also this is Not my First Xiaomi Phone - I had a Poco X3 Pro which was quite good for a cheap phone.

Here's what I liked on it better than my S25U In real Life: Nothing... 😞

-Even tho it had much larger battery than my S25U, the battery life was identical on both 😞

-Even tho the camera sensors on Paper are great, In real life the Camera experience felt half-baked and the results were kinda hit-or-miss. Especially the video recording wasn't very reliable compared to my Samsung. The Autofocus was like 20x worse on it than on S25U.

-Microphones for video recording felt really bad and the overall video recording didn't felt reliable for the work that I do.

-The pictures were kinda OK, but I didn't liked the Heavy AI usage for the zoom- it made them look weird..

Overall Since I'm mostly a Video guy this Phone felt like a Downgrade when it comes to cameras compared to my S25U

-The software probably was the next biggest let-down. It overall felt like something that you would get on an Entry Level Phone - not an Ultra Flagship with very high price tag. I thought it's going to be better than what I had on the Old Poco. However it simply felt half-baked and not very well polished.

-Coming from a Very Slim Phone, the Bulk of the phone felt crazy and the massive camera bump definitely isn't helping the phone in any way when it comes to the comfort.

In the End, I decided to get my Money back and returned the Phone. I think the hardware apart from the Bulk of it/microphones is decent but the Software/Optimization/lack of polish of it is the problem. It simply did not felt like a flagship Experience even tho it has Monster specs.

I know this is not a Positive review of this phone but I wanted to share my real-life impressions in-case it helps someone anyway.

Thanks!

Xiaomi 17 Pro Battery - from 100% to 40%

I took my phone charger out at 100% at 11:30, now about 10 hrs later its at 40%.

About 4-5 hrs screen time max today

The rest idle.

Ive noticed alot of drain but might just be hyperOS is bad at battery optimisation.

PS its Sunday today i mostly cleaned my room and did not use the phone too much.

Since the 17 pro max is Chinese version only I don't hear much discussion about so I'm posting in case anyone wonders.

Im in the US with tmobile and I have been getting frequent software updates. No issues whatsoever with the phone. I knew android auto wouldn't work but I don't use it.

Hello, I bought a Xiaomi 17 Pro about 3 days ago and I'm really impressed with it, but there are a few things that leave me with doubts. The camera doesn't seem as good as it appears in videos. How can I improve it? What settings should I adjust to make it work better? Also, the battery drains quickly; it runs out much faster than a 6300mAh battery. I get it at 100% in the morning and it drops to 20% in the evening. Also, how can I personalize my phone even more? I've seen some people use the back screen however they like, so I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me about some customization options I can use on my phone. Thank you for your support.

Hi guys, Im new to Xiaomi and got a x17P and its so far good. However the notification and the chinese bloating apps quite bother me to make x17P my main phone. And I just found out that there is EU rom for it but needing your help before making decision. I want to know more that

  1. This EU ROM is official from Xiaomi or 3rd party? Network working well?

  2. Is it global? Working well with all the Google service and notification, remove all Chinese app?

  3. Can it update OTA or I need to manual flash whenever there is one update?

  4. I will need to unlock bootloader, flash rom, then relock it to use banks and other app right?

  5. Any recommendation or caution?

Xiaomi 17 vs BMW i4 Digital Key

Anybody have any real world experience with compatibility between the 2?

It's i4 so NFC digital key, not UWB digital key plus.

Xiaomi 15 is on the BMW list, but took about 9 months after release to get the necessary Google Wallet Digital Key updates. Xiaomi 27 already has the Wallet APIs, so I don't know if it will just work, or requires a further active update for acceptance by BMW. The last BMW list I've seen published was Decent, so Xiaomi 17bwasnt wven released then to include.

Thanks

Hello everyone! I need help with the 17PM, when this update was released, it downloaded, but it got stuck at the "Extracting Package" part. Then when I restarted the phone, it's stuck here at Getting info...

I noticed also that before I updated it, the file size showed around 700 plus megabytes, now it's just down to 547MB

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
