I will try to keep it short. I decided to try the 17U mainly due to the New Super Hi-Dynamic Range Camera sensor as I use a Phone Camera to Make a lot of Video Content so I want the best I can get.
I previously/currently have a Samsung S25U which is my main phone. Also this is Not my First Xiaomi Phone - I had a Poco X3 Pro which was quite good for a cheap phone.
Here's what I liked on it better than my S25U In real Life: Nothing... 😞
-Even tho it had much larger battery than my S25U, the battery life was identical on both 😞
-Even tho the camera sensors on Paper are great, In real life the Camera experience felt half-baked and the results were kinda hit-or-miss. Especially the video recording wasn't very reliable compared to my Samsung. The Autofocus was like 20x worse on it than on S25U.
-Microphones for video recording felt really bad and the overall video recording didn't felt reliable for the work that I do.
-The pictures were kinda OK, but I didn't liked the Heavy AI usage for the zoom- it made them look weird..
Overall Since I'm mostly a Video guy this Phone felt like a Downgrade when it comes to cameras compared to my S25U
-The software probably was the next biggest let-down. It overall felt like something that you would get on an Entry Level Phone - not an Ultra Flagship with very high price tag. I thought it's going to be better than what I had on the Old Poco. However it simply felt half-baked and not very well polished.
-Coming from a Very Slim Phone, the Bulk of the phone felt crazy and the massive camera bump definitely isn't helping the phone in any way when it comes to the comfort.
In the End, I decided to get my Money back and returned the Phone. I think the hardware apart from the Bulk of it/microphones is decent but the Software/Optimization/lack of polish of it is the problem. It simply did not felt like a flagship Experience even tho it has Monster specs.
I know this is not a Positive review of this phone but I wanted to share my real-life impressions in-case it helps someone anyway.
Thanks!
