Finally got it!!

After thinking about it for way too long, I finally booked and got delivery of my X440T last week.

Already done around 780km and getting it serviced tomorrow

The performance has been really great. Extremely smooth to ride and way more refined than any of my friends expected it to be.

Anyone planning to buy a bike in this segment should definitely test ride the X440T once.

Helmet Locking Problem

Guys, in my bike, I do not want to have a backrest as I like it without the backrest, but the back side is open like I can’t put a helmet lock in it and lock my helmet and put it on the back seat, as I am in college, so in parking, I need to keep my bike and lock the helmet there only, but where and how should I lock it? Like I am thinking of doing it on my handlebar, but the pipe lock looks ugly af there, and even if I do it, I’ll have to keep my helmet on tank, which can scratch my bike… I am so confused right now. Just help me with the helmet lock thing and doesn’t damage the bike in any way. Also, I can keep it in the side of the bike using a lock as people can scratch my helmet with their bike in the parking. HELP ME😩😭

Need Genuine Advise!!

I'm Planning to buy the HD X440T in the next 15 to 30 days from Capital Harley Davidson Gurugram.

This is what the financer quoted me for EMI option (IDFC first bank) and I also I calculated what is the total interest I'll be giving.

He was giving 11% on 50k down-payment so i told him that it is too much then he said that if you give 65.5k down-payment we will give you 4.99% flat interest. So I agreed in that because I thought it was good.

Now I need experienced guys suggestions that is it good because I'm new in this.

And also I think the showroom is charging more for insurance(ICICI LOMBARD) and extra charges but for insurance he also told me to go for another insurance if i don't want to get insurance from the showroom.

Now guys can you please help me out and advise me to keep things in mind.

Thanks in Advance!

What other (cosmetic) mods can I do my bike?

So I installed the moto torque crash guard (it's a pain in the ass, please do it only if you have the right tools), the rhino racing slip on exhaust and my engine guard has been delivered, I'll soon be putting it on my bike.

I'm looking to buy some good bar end mirrors and I'm also looking for other cosmetic mods.

Also please if anyone knows where I can find a suitable performance air filter then please lmk, I'm desperate.

Finally got this Red Beast 🔥

Hey guys, I had purchased the X440 T last week and so far its really great.

The deep raspy exhaust with pops and bangs is such harmony to the ears and the acceleration is just 🚀

Btw, i had also noticed that the heel plate is purple in colour. Did it change color or is it normal??

Let me know if its the same case with your x440 t

Good backrest

Anyone has their X440 attached with a back rest?

If yes, I would like your opinion on buying one please.

I’m looking for one, so it would be little comfortable for the pillion. Always thighs are going numb after an hour ride.

I know they are very different bikes but they are example of 2 different approaches followed by 2 global brands

When the Harley-Davidson X440 was launched at ₹2.3 lakhs with service costs similar to 350cc bikes in this segment, people in this subreddit heavily criticized it for not being a “true Harley” and called it “Hero-Davidson.” They also labeled it overpriced, even though it was only about ₹25,000 more expensive than the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

Global Harley-Davidson motorcycles are often infamous for their unreliability and high maintenance costs. Compared to that, the Harley-Davidson X440 has proven to be quite reliable and relatively easy to maintain.

Fast forward to 2026: BMW G 450 GS launched as a “true BMW” with BMW-level pricing and service costs. Now, all of a sudden, the same people in this subreddit are complaining that its maintenance costs are too high.

Some were even suggesting the imported Honda NX500, which costs about ₹2 lakhs more than the G 450 GS, arguing that it would be cheaper in the long run.

TL;DR: Most people in this sub are wannabees and crybabies .they want everything to be cheap while still expecting the quality of premium products.

Need Opinions on 2nd Hand Harley X440 deal.

So I am getting a 2nd hand deal on Harley X440 S variant, matte black colour. It's a 2024 manufactured bike, so around 2 years old, driven around 5k kms. The owner mentioned that the shocker once broke because of pothole, but he got it fixed with original parts from hero authorised service center. The front brake, when applied in a stationary position gives some screeching sound, but when riding, it doesn't give any sound. The owner mentioned that mostly because of the shocker accident, the oil was leaking and that went around the brake pads area. He has tried to get it fixed but he says the sound still persists. The bike has some 2-3 touring accessories installed as well. Other than that, condition looks fine. He's willing to sell it in 2 Lakhs. Thoughts on the deal? Should I buy it or leave it? And if I should consider buying it, what all things should I keep in mind?

Thanks!

Is PPF necessary or mandatory for my x440t?

Hey everyone,
I recently got a new x440t and keep hearing mixed opinions about Paint Protection Film (PPF). Some people say it’s essential to protect the paint from scratches, chips, and weather damage, while others say it’s not really worth the cost.
So I wanted to ask:
Is PPF actually necessary for a new bike, or is it just an optional luxury?
Does it really make a noticeable difference in the long run?
Are there better or cheaper alternatives (like ceramic coating or regular waxing)?
For those who skipped PPF, did you regret it later?

So I was ready to buy the 400x(350) it seemed to tick all the boxes , comfort , suspension, engine refinement, soft off-road ,etc - basically I wanted an all-rounder and it is.

And then I rode the x440t, just to cross it out of the list , and man that was a very good engine. I was giggling for a fair bit of the test ride.

Logically the scrambler makes more sense, but harley's engine is just too damn good and I'm genuinely confused,if i should go with the harley.

And mind this the only reason for this is for the engine's character, because on every other aspect the scrambler is objectively the better bike.

I think the basis of the confusion, if I think about it boils down to fomo

Update- Booked Harley X440T in Dec 2025 – Dealer Delaying for Months. Need Advice & Alternatives

Things somehow got even more frustrating after my original post.

After escalating the issue to Harley-Davidson India customer support, they shared contact details of multiple authorized HD dealerships in Chennai and asked me to proceed through them for booking the X440T.

I was later contacted by Marina Harley-Davidson, Chennai. During the call, they informed me that they can only provide temporary registration, I would need to handle permanent registration myself at Puducherry, and most importantly, they claimed they cannot generate the HSRP number plate or RC book through the Hero Connect system for a Puducherry registration.

This honestly did not make sense to me because interstate registration is legally possible in India and many brands seem to handle it without this level of confusion.

At this point, it genuinely feels like either dealerships are unwilling to support interstate registration and are trying to push customers back to their “home” dealership ecosystem, or the Harley/Hero dealership network is simply not experienced enough in handling interstate registrations.

What disappointed me more was the cancellation experience. I contacted Radjamani Motors, Puducherry, and requested cancellation of my original booking since I booked in Dec 2025 and still have no confirmed delivery timeline. I was then told that I need to physically visit the showroom and submit a written cancellation request in person. This is despite the booking payment being made online, and most communications/document collection happening digitally over WhatsApp.

The entire process has honestly taken away the excitement of buying the motorcycle.

I still love the X440 itself as a product, but the dealership and ownership experience around it has been extremely disappointing.

At this stage, I’ve started looking seriously at alternatives:

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 / Royal Enfield Scram 440 / Honda CB350RS

Would genuinely appreciate inputs from owners of these bikes, especially regarding:

long-term reliability, highway comfort, refinement, and dealership/service experience.

At this point, a smooth ownership experience matters more to me than the badge itself.
