4mg

Hi everyone,

I started the 1.5mg in February and felt amazing and had zero side effects and began losing weight and was super excited. it also really helped with my anxiety and depression and ive honestly never felt better. I was traveling basically the entirety of March so I just kept with the 1.5mg bc it was still working. However, it eventually stopped curbing my hunger as much and we decided to up to 4mg. I took one day of 4mg and immediately was throwing up and couldnt stomach any food or water for 4 days and stopped taking the pill. Its been a week and I feel like my stomach is finally recovering. i was completely wiped out, i barely left my bed and i know some of these effects were due to the dehydration but ultimately I want to keep going on 4mg but I'm terrified of having that experience again, its also not possible bc i need to be in my office every day. anyone experience anything similar and have any advice? :(

I took my first pill 2 hours ago and I couldn't even finish my protein shake

I was drinking a premier protein cafe latte as my first "meal" of the day I almost finished it but I got full. Is the pill working already or just placebo? Also how am I going to get a lot of protein in if I can't even finish a protein shake?

Just started 1.5 pill! When should I expect to feel/see a difference?

Hiya, I just started the pill this am! Yay! I’m currently around 240 hoping to go down to 170 or so which is my regular resting weight - I’ve always gone up and down 15 or so pounds but the big gain came after I started (and have since stopped) Nexplanon. I go to the gym and eat healthy af, just too much of it/don’t know when to stop.

When should I expect food noise to quiet? When should I expect to SEE results? Were there any side effects that took you by surprise/you wish you knew about sooner?

Thanks in advance! Very interested in hearing other people’s testimony.

Coming up on 8 weeks experience

Hi! Just wanted to provide some updates as I have two more 4mg pills left. Overall, this has helped dare I say cured my BED. I struggled so much this past year with work stress, adjusting to living alone, etc. in September, my long term partner broke up with me because they weren’t attracted to me. Which as you can imagine is extremely painful. I’m 27 and really thought I would be with that person. While it’s fucked up, I did gain a considerate amount of weight and was disassociating from it for a while. I knew I had a problem but it wasn’t something I was addressing. I tried to do it the “right” way after the break up and was killing myself with exercise , however it didn’t last long until I fell right into BED habits again.

In late February I saw the infamous ro commercial and thought to give it a go- I’m done with not being secure with in my own body. I started on 2/28. I am now almost done with 4 mg and wanted to provide a bit about my experience. I have lost a decent amount (I think around 14 pounds) I try not to weigh myself as I have been lifting and working out too. In the first month, it was almost instant that my BED habits stopped. I feel so free of having that voice in my head which is great. However, on 4mg I’ve been having some acid reflux (I can deal with it) and have been pretty tired. I suffer from insomnia so being tired isn’t all so new to me.

I did have pretty bad constipation up until a few weeks ago. Now it’s shifted to the acid reflux. I will say this page has been really helpful (I had never posted on Reddit prior) in not feeling alone on this journey.

Today, I put on a skirt that had previously fit (was extremely tight) and felt it fit normally. I can actually wear it comfortably. I am trying to not be so hard on myself because I also want to still live my life (go out, drink occasionally), and I’m going on a two week Europe trip in three weeks so I want to be realistic about my progress thus far.

Anyways, that’s all!!!!!

Increased Hunger

This week I just moved up from the 1.5 pill to the 4.  Although I still can’t eat much during each meal, I’ve noticed an increase in hunger and food noise.  Anyone else experience this?

12 weeks & 20 pounds lost

Female, 5’5, SW 194, CW174 2 months @ 1.5mg, 1 month @ 4mg

I don’t track calories, protein etc., just try to make healthy choices and drink lots of water. My goal has been to lose 1-2 pounds a week per my doctor’s advice. Biggest side effects have been fatigue and constipation. Staying on 4mg for month 4.

Quitting the pill because the diet works better?

So I've been on the starter 1.5 dosage. When i started the pill i revamped my diet to a strict 2100 calorie high protein diet. I know the pill isn't doing much as its the starter dose but just this change in choices and consistency is showing results. I cut all fast food and all processed snacks. I'm sleeping better and my clothes are getting looser by the day. As results pour in and my body feels significantly better i wonder, Has anyone taken the pill and gotten off of it because the diet and habits changing is enough? I'm not sure if my will power will change off the pill lol

Side effects can sneak up on you.

I'm on week 2, day 3. Minimal side effects so far. No weight loss yet. I had chips and queso and a margarita as a treat to myself a few hours ago. I walked for an hour after that to try and help digestion.

I am so uncomfortable. My stomach is visibly distended and I'm burping so much. I wish I could just puke and get it over with. I hadn't really felt much in the way of the medication working until this. Yay, I think?

Wrapping up month three on 1.5- down 23 lbs

For those of you considering staying on a low dose- I highly recommend it! I’ve continued to lose weight (although more slowly now) on the lowest dose and plan to stay on the lowest dose (1.5) until I reach my goal (18 lbs left to lose!!). Here is the BIGGEST change in my behavior, and I want to share it all with you. Don’t eat after 6 pm. Just stop. And don’t eat until 10 am. The pill allows me to fast like this, and it has made all the difference. I try to eat healthier foods during my eating window, but I do have sweets on occasion (like a cookie here or there). I’ve learned this works for me, and I couldn’t have done this without the pill quieting my hunger cues. This way of eating is sustainable for me too. I hope this helps some of you as you decide whether to increase your dose and how to best use the pill to change your eating behaviors.

Any interesting/weird reactions from family or friends who you might have shared that you’re on the pill?

I’m curious if anyone had interesting reactions with their family or friends when they shared they are on the pill. I was dreading sharing it, and was also canceling a lot of plans to hang out because I wouldn’t be eating the same. Eventually I told my parents, and was expecting all kinds of judgement but they were laughing about it and found out my mom was on a form of it as well, for many years, and that’s why she’s been able to maintain her shape for so long! (She is also diabetic). I felt a bit annoyed by that because my mom was always the one telling me to lose weight and showing off she is slim in a toxic way, but it’s been many years since I cared about her opinion so I let that slide 😅 Now when I visit them they try to make foods that aren’t fried, don’t force larger portions etc. My mom has been trying to make it a bit competitive regarding how much weight I’ve been losing vs how much she is and I am vague in responses and avoid that.

I expected my sister, who has always been in great shape, to be supportive but I have been experiencing more weirdness with her. I let her know before I visited her for a few days, and she was kind of resistant regarding simple things I asked like hey just get me some Greek yogurt so I don’t have to carry an ice box with me. She kept pushing to eat at unhealthy places, and I told her she can eat whatever she wants but I will be careful with what I order. She told me I was eating way too less and was forcing me to order more, because if I’m hungry later she won’t make food at her place 😅 We’re both into working out but I do cardio and strength usually, while she does just strength. I was telling her I’ve been more cardio focused since the meds, and she got really really upset and said that’s horrible for me and she’s in the medical field and she knows a lot better etc.

I didn’t want to engage in that so once she finished talking I just smiled at her, and called my husband and son to ask how their day was going. She must have realized she over reacted and she immediately tried to be nicer.

I know all this makes it sound like my sister is kind of toxic but I overall had a great time visiting her and staying over, just whenever it came to the pill she was acting weird about it. I don’t want to hear her say I should come off it or engage in further discussion so I don’t talk about it with her anymore.

In praise of magnesium

I am just here to say that if not for magnesium, I don’t think l would have made it this far. As soon as I started on 4mg, I really felt that slowed digestion. One magnesium pill in the evening, usually just every other day, has really kept things moving for me. As a bonus, my dietitian told me that it’s great for relaxation and is probably helping my sleep too.

[Gross Sorry Lol] I thew up this morning and my lunch from yesterday was still there

I’m just over 3 weeks into 1.5. I’ve lost almost 10 lbs which I imagine is mostly water and inflammation. I’ve been eating very little, but still eating.

Yesterday I had half a chipotle bowl around 2 pm. This morning, due to unrelated reasons, I threw up and there was some of my lunch. I didn’t eat dinner. Has this happened to anyone?

How long until Novocare contacted you?

My PC sent a prescription directly to the Novocare pharmacy. I got a text saying they would be in contact, but that was five days ago and I haven’t heard anything more. Anyone know how long it typically takes? Tia

3 months in and 50 pounds down

SW - 399 CW - 350 GW - 280

I stepped on the scale this morning and couldn't believe it. To say it's been an exciting journey is an understatement. I'm almost to my last week on 9mg before I titrate up to the 25mg.

For me the key has been the gym. I go 5-6 days a week and grind. My main goal has been to not lose muscle mass so I power lift fairly extensively. No cardio but I use my lifting as my cardio and move fairly quickly between sets. I'm a former college football player so I just use the same mindset I had then and it's been really fun.

As far as side effects I don't have any other than occasional constipation. My appetite is and has been non existent on a consistent basis since starting the 1.5mg. That's been the most rewarding part of the journey for me - the food noise going away. There's times when I have to remind myself to eat.

In regards to diet I'm only focusing on high protein and low carb. I'm pretty sure my body is in ketosis which has been nice because my energy levels haven't been destroyed from the caloric deficit.

I hope all of you keep pushing on and seeing the results you're hoping for. I can't wait to check back in in another month to share where I'm at.

Started my journey 🤞

I started my journey 3 days ago I’m on the 1.5mg I guess is a starter dose at first I had mild heartburn no other side effects so far hunger noise still there but for some reason eating a bit more I will assume it will go away over time , urinating more often but I’m also drinking a lot of water

I tried Zepbound injection back in September also a started dose but since I’m paying everything out of pocket I decided to give wegovy a try because of the cost

I know each experience is different so let’s hope for positive results in the upcoming months 🤞

Uncomfortably full on 4mg

I’m almost done with my 4mg bottle and have lost 12 lbs! While I’m happy it’s working, 4mg has been interesting. Food sounds repulsive to me, and I get soooo full on just a few bites of food. I see my PCP tomorrow for my next refill. I wonder if I should stay on 4mg another month? 9mg sounds like it would be brutal lol

Excessive tiredness?

2nd month on the pill! Results have been great so far, down about 28 pounds through the first two doses. Upped to 4mg for the second month and starting to feel really tired on a daily basis. Any others experiencing this?

My Biggest Non-Scale Victory

Started the pill a little over a month ago. For my entire life I've been overweight and insecure in my body, lacking confidence. Gained a lot more weight in 2020, specifically in my arms bc I was no longer active. Looked down one day, saw the stretch marks and how big my arms were, and vowed to never wear tank tops again. It's been over six years since I've worn one in publics. 99% of the clothes I own have some sort of sleeve to hide my arms. I wouldn't even wear tank tops around the house bc I hated how my arms looked so much. My arms have been my biggest insecurity for the longest time now.

I've been working out consistently for over a year, but the pill has been a major catalyst in boosting my confidence. My arms are still not slim/toned by any means, but we are getting there!! I wore a tank top out in public for the first time in six years. I don't hate the way my arms look anymore and have treated myself to new clothes & purchased several tank tops. I'm so proud of myself.

I love how supportive and positive this community has been! Wanted to share this to show others who just started their journey that this medication isn't just a weight loss drug, but also a mindset shift and confidence booster ❤️❤️
