Your voter information could soon go public. What Utah voters need to know

I’ll start by saying it’s odd that this is being removed at all after being added; allowing residents to make their voter records private was a great idea that many states don’t have. SB 153 really slid under the radar but this seems like another miss from the legislature.

Mostly I find it wild that ALL “Law Enforcement Officers” are one of the at-risk groups being allowed to retain the privacy. Law enforcement officers are by definition public servants. As Don Draper says, “That’s what the money is for.” If someone isn’t ok with that, maybe law enforcement isn’t for them. I’m happy they didn’t try to include politicians in the list (though I suspect the “public figure” title will be generously applied).

Transferring to American Fork for the hiking

Hi! I work for Amazon and have requested a transfer from Florida to American Fork Itah. I have been to Utah several times and have explored the mighty 5 and several state parks and decided I want to make Utah my home for a year so I can hike on my days off and travel throughout the state. In a single woman in my 50’s with a ton of solo travel experience and would appreciate any dispersed camping or possibly room for rent on the weekends situation’s as my Amazon pay is not going to cover the expense of the cost of living by myself and still being able to travel. I work midnights so I would be an ideal house mate for someone working days as I would never be underfoot and could help care for any animals while I’m home. I work 4 days a week and will be traveling 3 days a week. I’m literally only moving to Utah for outdoor recreation! My dad has Alzheimers and I’m afraid I’m racing the clock to see as much as I can see before the disease comes for me. Any information or ideas would be welcome. No negativity please!
