So I was applying for a summer internship and all and one offered me something that seemed kinda new and interesting to me.

I mainly do backend stuff and work with java and spring boot, and in this internship offer i will be working on a reverse proxy implemented from scratch using netty and migrate from http 1.1 to http 2 and also make it compatible with k8s ingress, and guided by a mentor of course. What do you think? Is it better than some regular crud project?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice or feedback on my situation because I’ve been struggling to re-enter the job market for several months now.
I hold a diploma in International Management from Tunis, and a Master’s degree in Consulting & Digital Transformation from SKEMA Business School , also worked in Paris in two consulting firms, mainly on functional consulting projects.
After that, I decided to return to Tunis. I had two job offers at the time: one from Deloitte and one from a startup working on generative AI. I chose the startup, but unfortunately the experience didn’t go as expected, and I left after around 8 months.
Shortly after, I had to undergo a medical surgery, which also slowed down my career momentum. Since then, I’ve been actively looking for a job for about 6–8 months, mainly in roles like:
Functional Consultant
Junior Consultant
Digital Transformation roles
However, I’ve been facing repeated silence or lack of responses despite sending many applications.
To clarify my profile:
I am not a purely technical profile
My strength is more on functional analysis, business consulting, process optimization, and adapting solutions to client needs and market contexts
Any advice, feedback, or even criticism is very welcome. I really want to get back on track professionally.

I’m about to graduate with a Computer Science degree in Tunisia, and honestly, I feel lost about what direction I should take next.

Over the last few years, I realized that I’m not fully passionate about the idea of spending my whole life coding in front of a screen or staying a salaried employee forever. At the same time, I’m also attracted to business, entrepreneurship, commerce, and more dynamic fields like real estate and sales.

Right now, I’m considering several options:

• Continue improving my software engineering skills seriously and try building an international career in tech.
• Work for a few years, save money, then move into entrepreneurship later.
• Skip the traditional software path and directly enter business/commercial fields.
• Apply for a Master’s degree abroad.
• Continue a Master’s in Tunisia (although I’m not very convinced by the value of it).

My biggest problem is that I don’t have a clear vision yet. I feel stuck between “build a stable tech career first” and “take risks early and explore business opportunities.”

For people who have already been through this phase:

• Did you ever feel disconnected from software engineering after graduating?
• Is it smarter to first build a strong technical career before moving into business?
• If you were 22 again in my position, what would you do?
• Do you think international opportunities are worth chasing early?
• How did you discover what you actually wanted long term?

I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from developers, engineers, or entrepreneurs who went through similar confusion early in their careers.
