Lillypads in Thailand
I'm going to phuket. It was one of the best times of my entire life.

Worked Remotely from BKK- 20 Days
I worked remotely from Bangkok for 20 days Here’s my experience & tips:
• Prefer Don Mueang over Suvarnabhumi airport: smaller, less crowded, immigration done in 15 mins. 2 lounge available; carry priority pass.
• Stayed in a studio apartment (kitchen + laundry) in a society with gym, pool, co-working space. Area- Sukhamvit 71.
• Rented a scooty for the full trip. Indians technically need an IDP (via e-Parivahan site), but no one checked in Bangkok (more common in Phuket/Krabi). Paid 1500 per week rate.
• Pattaya is 2 hours from Bangkok, cheaper than Bangkok. Sea-facing rooms are 💯 worth it.
• Thailand has become more expensive. What was 200 baht earlier is now 350+ (noticed across my last 3 trips).
• Platinum Mall shopping tip: inflated pricing + fake discounts. Negotiation is tougher now.
• Charles & Keith is cheaper here vs India.
• VAT refund tip: Ask for VAT form at the store. Get it stamped before security on airport. Collect refund after security at VAT counter. Not applicable at local shops / Platinum / MBK
• Don’t miss:
- Jodd Fairs Night Market! Great vibe, great food, less chaotic than the popular ones.
- Art gallery lanes in Chatuchak weekend market.
• Best massage: C Care franchise. They know their shit.
• Thai people being rude to Indians?
\- Our society’s vending machine never worked with cash. The guard would always offer to pay online and take cash from me.
- A store worker once offered me a sanitary pad when I didn’t realize I’d gotten my period. Small things, but very thoughtful.
• Bangchok fuel stations had long queues for refill (cue- Iran conflict). Grab and bolt made delivery expensive.
💯 would do it again!

misleading "TDAC Scam Alert" on tdac.agents.co.th
If you are researching about fake TDAC websites on Google you can see this high ranking page on their website, which is very misleading. They insinuate that their website is an official option for submitting the arrival forms in Thailand and that is not true.
Why is the Thai government allowing this misinformation on .th website domains?
I’m fairly certain that Immigration police already warned tourists not to use any websites for submitting the TDAC besides the official government website?
Chiang Mai Burning season
Should we cancel our trip to Chiang Mai next week, April 14th - 20th? We are dumb and did not realize prior to booking it was burning season lol! Should we be going to another place?

Ban Pa Bong Piang – Chiang Mai (The Emerald Carpet)
When the algorithm tells you it's low season, you look at this.
Because you can't talk about Green Season without paying homage to Ban Pa Bong Piang. This isn't just a rice field: it's considered one of the largest rice terraces in all of Thailand.
And during this time, this precise season, the entire valley transforms into an unparalleled phenomenon.
As far as the eye can see, the mountains are covered in a majestic, emerald velvet carpet. It's a panorama so vast, so saturated, it will take your breath away.
I guarantee you: in any other season, you won't see anything like it. If you come here and see this wonder, you'll understand the truth: the rainy season is not the low season. It's Thailand's true high season!

I stayed at the hig hotel for 14 days and checked out today. they're accusing me of breaking the tv, but i never even turned it on. now they want $200 or they’ll hold me here. i need urgent legal advice on how to proceed pls
Phi phi boat tour and fly out of phucket the same day?
As the title says, wondering how feasible it would be to do an early morning private boat tour perhaps 4 hours or so in phi phi and have enough time to take the ferry back and catch an evening flight at around 8PM in phucket to go back to Bangkok? I would spend the night prior to the tour and my departure in phi phi, thanks!
Exchange Rate - Getting Baht After Thailand Arrival
Hey Folks,
So heard some say you need to have 20k baht physically on your person when arriving by air, has anyone actually been asked to show / produce this?
I wasn't asked the last time two times I landed in 2024/2025 but believe things are tightening up this year?
I ask because the EUR > BAHT exchange rates in my country are abysmal anywhere I look, It's so much cheaper to to it over there. Would it suffice to show the Thai Baht amount in my Revolut on arrival if questioned?
I'm entering on a tourist Visa and and all within alowwed limits so shouldn't be any questions

Krabi travel map for this summer
What tips and tricks do you have for coping with the heat in southern Thailand?
Hi! It seems to be extremely hot all over Thailand. Bangkok is unbearable.
But for those of you in the island areas (Trat, Krabi), how are you dealing with this heat? Does the sea help to cool things down? Or is the water warm too? Can you stay in the shade on the beach, or are you constantly looking for air conditioning?
Please share how you manage so the heat doesn’t ruin your vacation.
We’re heading there in a few days. Can’t wait!
Be aware of this possible real-estate tactic in Thailand
If you have any experience with renting property in Thailand or even communicating with any realtors, you start to realize that most of the listings are just for generating leads. That specific unit might not be available, images might not be accurate, even prices might be lower, to attract you to it. It's not like America where most of what you see is what it is. However the more i communicate with realtors I notice this pattern where they'll tell you the listed unit is available at a specific price that looks appealing, then in no time they'll tell you its no longer available. Then they'll show you a downgraded unit at that specific price you're looking for, or they'll show you a similar style and size unit, but at a higher price. I could be wrong, however you gotta be very cautious in a country where people are very nice and are not confrontational. It's a touristy country, so you're often getting played so they can take your money. Even though what they're taking isn't properly significant to you, but it is when you get comfortable and ish starts to add up. Always negotiate unless the deal is already lower than market value. BE CAUTIOUS OF EVERY FUCKING PENNY THAT LEAVES YOUR POCKET!

Google Maps and the Bangkok MRT
Was taking the MRT to the Chatuchak Weekend Market and while doomscrolling, noticed that at the top of the screen Google Maps was updating how many stops remaining till I needed to get off the MRT.
Never noticed that before, and was surprised to see that.
PS Google was wrong and the exit to the market is exit 1 and not 2
