Build list:
- Magpul M-Lok forend
- Magpul barrel clamp
- Surefire M600DF w/ Arisaka M-Lok mount
- EOtech 512
- Defender Tactical minishell adapter
- Defender Tactical mag follower
- Esstac shotgun card
- Magpul SGA stock

Coming from a Mossberg Maverick 88, the 590 felt a bit heavier but just as reliable. Ran every tested shell type, including 1oz minishell slugs, without issue. The action was wobbly but very smooth. Magpul parts added a good deal of modularity. Fun setup!

Slug range day

Took my Mossberg 500 police trade in out to the range today. ~25yd grouping with Federal Premium Truball slugs, not too bad for just using a bead I think. They certainly hit high from point of aim at 25 though.

Building a Remington 870 from scratch

For a while now I have been considering building a fun/home defense shotgun from a stripped receiver because I didn’t want to buy a full gun and then have to “throw away” too many parts that I won’t end up using. Well recently I pulled the trigger and impulse bought a stripped 870 wingmaster receiver off of gunbroker for $52 and it turns out after buying it the gun was manufactured pre-1968. I am aware of the ejector and shell latches looks issues some older models have. I have done my research and I am confident I can “easily lol” replace those if needed.

Does anyone have any other advice for a project like this?

Also, I forgot to mention and I know this is a “concern” for older model 870’s but I already figured out it is a 2 3/4” frame.

Mm gun ban buys

Hey all, sorry for what is probably a repetitive post. I'm fairly new to guns in general and have not purchased any shotguns yet. With mn doing dumb shit around gun laws, I'm trying to aquire those items which will possibly be unavailable.

I have been doing some looking regarding shotguns, looking for something suitable for home defense, robot dogs that check my social credit score, drones, that kind of thing. It seems there are a few variations between tube fed vs mag fed, semi vs pump amd length of barrel.

Currently eyeing a a300 as something that would provide quality and flexibility but want to see if there is anything I am missing.

I see some have the pistol style grip as opposed to the more traditional shotgun setup, any major advantages or disadvantages to either?

I know they want to ban mag fed shotguns which makes we want one.. are they decent or more of a novelty?

Barrel length for something like clays vs home defence? Can they be swapped out generally or just buy the whole gun for specific use?

Any information is welcome, thanks

Well, another custom build finished.

This took way too long because of all of the production stuff we had going on.

Want one of these in Canada?

We need your help!

We need you to post ,share , tag sage international to get their attention.

We have tried several times over the last few, year to get a hold of them to place and order for the shotgun stock, but no one ever gets back to us.

We built one of these for @arm.and.gun a few years ago.

But rumor has it he had to do unspeakable things to get one of these stocks...

Got the Magpul SGA on my new 1301

Have a SGA on my 590 and now the 1301 matches. For me, the grip puts my finger in a much better position to reach the trigger as well as feeling a bit better in the shoulder. I have a couple Kick-EZZ recoil pads coming...people seem to like them.

Install isn't bad. Having a vice is helpful. There are a couple solid videos on YouTube showing step by step.

Tools used: Phillips screwdriver, pliars, 7mm wrench, provided Allen wrench, 13mm deep socket with extension.

Aridus Industries shipped the combo out the 1st business day after I ordered it. Had it two days later. Buying the combo was a nice convenience and saved a few bucks.

I stole the surefire from the 590 since the 1301 is my new hotness. I do like the Viper on the 590 and leaning towards getting the Viper green multi reticle for the 1301.

The SGA comes with spacers to extend the length of pull if required. I'm a fan.

Had some work done to my 1897 Winchester had a tune up on the internals for reliability. The barrel cut down to 18.5 and re crowned, I added a big brass front sight bead. I chopped the stock down and added a decelerator pad with a LOP at 12.5. She’s light and nimble points great and takes down for easy storage currently only running low recoil buck and slugs through her.

Remington 870 getting a new look!

Stripped the whole thing in and out. Using Duracoat can spray paint, used in the past for rifles with tremendous results, very durable. She will be coated inside too to avoid rust. Ordered new furniture, light, optic, ect…see results on my next post.

Virginia Assault rifle ban impact on shotguns?

Would 7+1 tactical shotguns like Mossburg 940 Pro be allowed? The stated limit according to VA ban is 7 rounds but does that exclude the one in chamber?

I’m looking to mount a Holosun 507 Comp on my A300UP and looking around to see what options I have. I’ve found the Scalarworks and GG&G mounts and I was wondering why the Scalarworks is so much more expensive? Is it worth it over the GG&G option given the price difference? Thanks for any input/feedback!

Recently got the itch to put a rail and optic on my Supernova. Debating on getting a side saddle or maybe Esstac shotgun cards but the curve of the receiver makes me wonder how well the velcro will hold.

I have an a300 UP with an aimpoint t2 on the scalarworks mount and within the first 20 rounds of birdshot after mounting it came flying off, I used the correct loctite, torqued properly. I just had the gun re drilled and tapped for larger screws and used the same mount again correct loctite and properly torqued and it stayed of for about 70 rounds of 00 buck, slugs and bird shot, this time I had used a paint marker on the screws and monitored them the whole time and checked to see if the dot was loose, the very last round I fired before leaving the range the dot came flying off again, screws hadn't backed out, they ripped right out of the reciever, I cant figure out what im doing wrong, ive seen many of these guns configured this way on here but I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem. I was thinking about getting the new vortex viper enclosed red dot and trying that out.
