Anybody just not marry a companion?

I really love Sam in the game, but tbh, I prefer him as some brother in arms. Kinda like the Arthur and John trope. After marrying him in my first playthrough, I didn’t really like the flirting stuff, so I just decided to not commit.

Ecliptic feels bland

Anyone else feel like ecliptic just... Doesn't feel very threatening? Their armor looks too boxy, and I feel given their lore they should have a bit more of an "I'm in danger" vibe. I envision an elite mercenary group and I think of the Jin-Roh armor, with two red dots for eyes slowly walking through the smoke on a burning starstation.

Why no vasco modification?

They gave us the automoton dlc in fallout 4 it would’ve made perfect sense to let us customize vasco to some extent

Absolutely INSANE that bathesda didn’t add an option to destroy Dazra and house va’ruun at the end of the dlc.

They kill apostates, if you decide to be a non believer the punishment is death and anyone who tried to help you leave the punishment is death for those aswell

One of the house leaders is working with the zealots

2 of the three “peaceful” house va’ruun leaders support starting the crusades again, 1 outrightly so and immediately and the other wants to wait to get stronger first.. the third thinks it’s a “complicated” question wether or not to slaughter all non believers indiscriminately.

What in the actual f were they thinking, am I insane?!

Redgrave shows some of the best potential for starfield quest design

Redgrave is a creation that has you help a new LIST settlement get off the ground. Its a fun little story that fits into the starfield world easily.

But the best parts are how many of the quests do things that should be all over the game. One mission has you destroy a derelict ship inside a mine. The catch is that the entrance is pretty narrow, forcing you to use a small ship. Then you have to navigate your ship through tight rocky corridors. Another mission is a straight forward fetch quest, but it at least does something that made it memorable. The item you have to get is beneath some boxes you have to physically move. Its a small detail but it makes the world seem so much deeper, not just running up to the 10,000th container.

Redgrave has a lot of these tiny details, game design, or under utilized mechanics sprinkled throughout that it surprised me that other mods/creations aren't using.

Are there any other mods/creations that do this type of thing?

Free Lanes + Watchtower :)

I've been playing vanilla up until lvl120/NG+10.

Got bored repeating the same faction quests for the 10th time, with little variation besides dialogue options. Even that got old.

Terran Armada was huge, like for most people out there. I've really enjoyed the new content. I love Delta, such a capable companion.

Decided to add a couple of popular mods, in addition to the Terran Armada DLC. I added the Trackers Alliance quests, Hells Gate, and most recently Watchtower.

And then it hit me: with this much extra lore, gear and systems, Starfield now feels like what it should have been since the beginning.

I now lead a fleet of 7 ships (including Frontier & Razorleaf, maxed out in upgrades). These two starter ships are actually useful as part of a fleet ! They tear through Watchtower invasions, the feeling is very rewarding.

The fleet system made me go back to ship building and on the hunt for crew. I am finding myself recruiting Mission Specialists at bars across the main planets just to crew my ships. And I'm loving it !

Creation packs adding new lore & quests were generally cool (Trackers Alliance, DOOM, etc) but Watchtower was an OMG moment for me. I've already played through 100+ hours on it and it feels that I can continue to play until the next DLC.

Next on my plate: replace all these Mission Specialists with proper companions, the like of Omari Hassan, Gideon Aker and Amelia Earhart (full list here btw.)

I get more ships than usual at Jemison resulting in frame drops, possibly a creation causing it or a bug?

Anybody have any idea what/who the SysDef 7th fleet is?

I found this while going for the visit wvery star system trophy. When I landed, everyone there was hostile. Everyone wearing UC marine and SysDef armor. Tried to google it but can not find anything related to any 7th fleet at all. Thanks in advance!

Noticed this in Londinion. A cool little detail.

The game’s lore says Stroud and Eklund were two companies which were merged when their respective owners/creators got married after the colony war.

In the ruins of Londinion we can find a pre-merge Eklund shipbuilder.

Which is your favourite ship manufacturer and why?

I'm making my own ship finally, and to try and reduce the cognitive load of choice, I decided to pick a single manufacturer to pick from, especially with Habs.

I chose Stroud-Eklound to start, partially since the ceo is a part of constellation, and partially because they market themselves as a luxury ship brand. However, from using the Habs it feels more utilitarian than luxury, but maybe I haven't spent enough time with the other makers yet.

Which do you like and why?
