I accidentally became one of the biggest Aleppo soap suppliers in the US.

A few years ago I started selling Aleppo soap retail because I genuinely loved the product. Fast forward to today… I’m pretty sure I now have one of the largest inventories of authentic Aleppo soap in the USA.

For anyone unfamiliar: Aleppo soap is one of the oldest soaps in the world, traditionally made in Syria with olive oil + laurel berry oil. Simple ingredients, insanely long history, and people with sensitive skin swear by it.

But life changes fast. I just had a baby, and it’s making me rethink where I spend my time. Instead of focusing on individual retail orders all day, I’m shifting toward wholesale + supplying brands, stores, spas, boutiques, and anyone wanting authentic Aleppo soap at scale.

White label, bulk supply, custom branding, plain wrapped bars whatever you need, I’m probably your guy now.

Honestly wild how a niche product turned into this big of an operation.

Curious if anyone else here pivoted from retail into wholesale after burnout/family/life changes?

What company to try next?

I've tried Dr. Squatch, Grizzly Naturals, Sudsy, and Black Stuff.

I don't remember if I even liked Squatch it kinda led me to branching out, but I'm tempted to grab another bar.

Sudsy I only tried one, it was High Seas Drifter, it was ok. They never have any stock though. I check daily and there is only ever one or two bars, and none of the ones I want so I gave up on them.

Grizzly has been amazing and my go to, I've sample about 9 bars and only disliked 2 cuz of weak scent. But them using actual oatmeal and poppy seeds and other stuff is amazing and feels great on the skin.

Black Stuff I tried cuz they had a Guinness themed beer and I like the spicier and woody scents, but it kinda wasn't great. So I didn't try anything else.

I'm just kind of interested in giving other companies a shot out of curiosity so I was looking for more recent recs.

I don't care about all natural either as I actually really enjoy the Dove charcoal bars. It was my go to body wash before I switched to soap and the bars are great.

Bar soap is freaking out my skin??

So, I wanted to simplify my skincare about a month ago and was influenced by an Instagram creator to use the Dove Sensitive Bar Soap since I was still dealing with a lot of breakouts even with my PanOxyl Acne Foaming Face Wash.

Worked great for a few weeks until the skin around my eyes/eyelids started to flake, crack, and went red.

Turns out, it was dermatitis.

Dermatologist gave me a prescription for Tacrolimus Ointment. It helped, but then the dermatitis moved down to my neck!! After some research, I learned that my Dove bar that helped my face actually start to clear up/heal might’ve been to blame.

So, I switched to the Dr.Bronner’s Baby Bar Soap.

Again, worked great for a week, but now my skin feels incredibly dry after I use it AND I’m starting to experience the first signs of a rash or dermatitis on my neck. I’m even experiencing some burning sensation around my mouth and neck.

All this to say: can some people just not use bar soaps?? I don’t know what is causing these reactions, and just want to get to the bottom of what is happening.

Can you recommend me some soaps and body washes that will make me love showering :)

I need help! I’m reposting this from a different post:

Ok so I currently hate showering and avoid it for various reasons. I shower but I do so in a rush and ina grumpy sort of way. Someone suggested I romanticize the shower. So I’m going to try.

Important: I have sensitive skin. I tend to overreact to things like fragrance and random extra ingredients like “ceramides.” I currently use Yardley bar soap or one of those French goats milk soaps I pick up at the market. I used to use Monsavon from France when my mom used to buy it for me, I liked that one. Used to use Dr Bronners but I’m kind of over it, very drying.

I’m so out of touch with body wash and soap. I never thought to take care of myself by choosing good/interesting body care products. I’m looking for that extra special something to my shower routine

Then I hear two camps: absolutely use antibacterial on pits and bite; or absolutely do NOT because it will cause the bacteria to become resistant?

also what’s the difference between soap and body wash? They aren’t interchangeable, right? I like to smell good! I can always moisturize after the shower. so I need soap only, yes?

I just want a good-smelling, non irritating shower routine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ones I’ve tried and don’t like:
- Neutrogena (The Rain one smelled good but didn’t lather great, didn’t find it to stand out for any reason)
- Aveeno (too moisturizing I think)
- Oil of Olay - smell great but too sensitive for all that fragrance now

Bar soaps for face? / Ingredients to avoid?

I have slightly oily skin and wish to try a simplified facial cleaning routine and go back to basics. I am learning about soap bars and how for some people it does wonders for their face. I was wondering if there is a list of ingredients, do's and don'ts when it comes to buying a bar soap for the face. I've heard good things about the Dove bar for the face and some other ones. Sometimes I will see a 'natural soap bar' in a shop but I will read the label and be uncertain if it's safe for the face or not as I don't know what to even look out for. I will put the ingredient list of one of the soaps I was looking at as an example below. I don't see any downsides of these ingredients but maybe I am wrong?

Ingredients: Sodium Coco-Sulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter*, Citric Acid, Aqua, Avena Sativa Kernel Extract*, Coco-Glucoside, Pentylene Glycol, PCA Glyceryl Oleate, Parfum**, Lecithin, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Cymbopogon Flexuosus Oil, Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex, Vegetable Oil, Maltodextrin, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Citral, Limonene, Linalool. * = Organic, ** = Scent comes from natural essential oils

What’s a soap scent that instantly makes a place feel cleaner to you

I’ve realized certain soap scents somehow make a room feel cleaner even before anything is fully organized. Some smells just have that fresh, calming effect that changes the whole atmosphere after washing your hands or cleaning up.

It’s interesting how everyone seems to associate “clean” with different scents too some people like citrus, some prefer floral scents, and others like plain classic soap smells.

What soap scent immediately gives you that “everything feels fresh now” feeling?

So I got psoriasis , eczema and sensitive skin in my family so I started making my own soaps and this one really makes a difference! Just want to brag. Do you feel a difference in your soaps.

I made this one using glycerin base that I colored using food grade coloring, chamomile essential oil for natural scent and goat milk.

Thought it was just my skin type for years. That uncomfortable, tight feeling every time I got out of the shower. Just accepted it.

Switched to a bar soap with simpler ingredients a couple of months ago. No sulfates and a few added oils. The dryness slowly just went away.

Not sure if it's what I removed or what I added, but something changed. Anyone else notice this after switching from body wash? Wondering if it's the soap or if I changed something else without realizing

Hey everyone!

I’m a small business owner specializing in Aleppo soap, which I’ve been selling internationally. I’m currently shifting my business focus to supplying high-quality Aleppo soap within the U.S.

I currently have over 10,000 handcrafted bars in stock here in the U.S., all imported from Turkey. I’m confident this is one of the largest available supplies of authentic Aleppo soap in the country.

As I explore this new direction, I’m looking to connect with small businesses interested in wholesale supply.

If you’re interested in offering high-quality, authentic Aleppo soap to your customers, I’d love to connect and discuss how we can work together.

I'll be honest, I never thought to check the undersides and back of them. I move them whenever the shower is cleaned but they never get cleaned. They are the angled ones very popular on AMZ. What's a better option? I also have the flatter silicon ones that have very little angle but I noticed those don't secure the soap bars very well and the liquid tends to pool.

Recommendation request

I am looking for body wash and/or shampoo that smells similar to Bath & Body Works' Cedarwood Sauna body wash. Any recommendations?

Been kind of annoyed with how most soap dispensers these days either overreact and keep pumping or just stop working after a few weeks. I’ve tried a cheap manual pump before and it gets messy fast especially in the kitchen when your hands are already dirty.

Looking now for a touchless one mainly for kitchen and bathroom use, nothing too fancy but something that doesn’t lag or randomly dispense too much soap. Preferably one that works well with regular liquid soap since I don’t really want to keep buying specific refills.

There are so many options like infrared sensor types, rechargeable ones, battery powered ones, and I honestly can’t tell which ones actually last longer or just look good at first then become annoying later.

If anyone has switched from manual to automatic, was it actually worth it or did it just end up being another thing on the counter that gets ignored after a while?
