Bar soap is freaking out my skin??
So, I wanted to simplify my skincare about a month ago and was influenced by an Instagram creator to use the Dove Sensitive Bar Soap since I was still dealing with a lot of breakouts even with my PanOxyl Acne Foaming Face Wash.
Worked great for a few weeks until the skin around my eyes/eyelids started to flake, crack, and went red.
Turns out, it was dermatitis.
Dermatologist gave me a prescription for Tacrolimus Ointment. It helped, but then the dermatitis moved down to my neck!! After some research, I learned that my Dove bar that helped my face actually start to clear up/heal might’ve been to blame.
So, I switched to the Dr.Bronner’s Baby Bar Soap.
Again, worked great for a week, but now my skin feels incredibly dry after I use it AND I’m starting to experience the first signs of a rash or dermatitis on my neck. I’m even experiencing some burning sensation around my mouth and neck.
All this to say: can some people just not use bar soaps?? I don’t know what is causing these reactions, and just want to get to the bottom of what is happening.
