Be Honest - dating / women success
I personally found a lot of SMPs to be more of a gangster / ghetto / sense helmet look. Would think that something less dense with recession that looks organic would be much better
That said, it’s clear that both transplants and hair systems elevate your dating life. I’m curious if fellow brothers can chat about if SMPs helped and to what degree. My gut says maybe a bit but not as much as a hair system. As not all women (white collar for example) dig the look. I could be wrong and just trying to learn. Please include your age and some details about changes in online dating results and in person. Thanks
Natural shaved effect SMP result "healed" from our clinic in France
Long overdue post.
All photos are taken indoors and outdoors in natural lighting—no filters.
There’s a lot of debate online about the longevity of SMP. You’ll hear that it won’t last, that you’ll need laser removal, or that you’ll regret it. Honestly, most of that is just noise.
This is my own SMP—now 12 years old.
Done in 2014, with just one touch-up in late 2017. Absolutely Nothing since.
Has it softened over time? Of course.
That’s actually part of what keeps it looking natural.
Constant touch-ups aren’t necessary—only when they’re truly needed. As an artist, I even discourage my own clients from getting frequent touch-ups unless it’s warranted. Most times less is more
12 years later:
No laser. No regret. Still looks natural.
And yeah, this is Reddit—people will say it looks faded or flat or the ink has gone abit blotchy. That’s expected. But the reality is, most people overthink SMP. Living with it for over a decade, I can honestly say it’s been a complete game changer.
There is no perfect hairloss treatment, but for me SMP reigns supreme and best bang for buck if you really want a peace of mind.
The biggest fear people have is: “Will anyone notice?” In 12 years, not a single person has. I’ve actually had people ask why I don’t grow my “hair” out—and when I tell them it’s SMP, they’re shocked.
That alone should say a lot about longevity.
If you’re on the fence, do your research, find the right artist, and make the call.
If you’re on the East Coast of Canada or in the midlands UK, feel free to reach out 🤙🏽
SESSION 3 OF 3 • AGE 55 • MULTIPLE LIGHTING, ANGLES & MACRO PERSPECTIVES
Advanced hair loss with difficult skin texture and visible scalp irregularities throughout the frontal region.

• Lower ambient lighting
• Professional studio lighting
• Macro inspection
• Frontal and rear perspectives
Fresh impressions appear darker immediately after treatment and soften during the healing process.
No filters.

Enhanced Scalp Micropigmentation
Client allowed me to share his results and written review.
3 sessions total. These photos are taken under studio lighting with no filters or phone editing.
Included some macro shots because that’s what most people ask for when researching.
If anyone has questions about the process, healing, or what to expect, I’m happy to answer.
I had a hair transplant in the past at the hairline. Can a SMP look realistic?
I kept the hairline because I’m wearing a system now. However, if I go fully shaved, I wonder how it’s going to look. Could a SMP help? But then the hairline would not look too “fake”? I want it to be as natural as possible. Thanks
What is that bald dot on my head is it alopecia areata?
I also can add that i have low feritin and i lose much hair
A recent SMP case from our clinic in France.
The goal was to create a natural shaved effect with a soft and realistic hairline. The work was done gradually over several sessions to avoid an overly dense or artificial result.
Photos are shown in natural lighting to give a realistic view of the result.
Happy to answer any technical questions about the process, healing or maintenance.
Work by Tricopigmentation Toulouse, France.
Anyone else see this? I usually order through Amazon every month or so, and today I got a little scared.
I was able to order directly through www.zeroshine.com but normally would use Amazon. I had a minor panic attack but I'm curious if it's unavailable for anyone else in the US?!
P.S. - I did contact them asking if they're removing it from Amazon. I'll update if I hear something.
UPDATE: Production is not being discontinued! In fact, they just can't always keep up with the demand. Amazon will be getting restocked as soon as it is possible. However, they always have it available directly through them!
My smp on the temples is fully gone
I did my (supposed to be) last session a month ago (3 in total). I loved the result at first! But after a month the smp on the temples its fully gone.. what happened?
Im going to do other two sessions soon.. i hope will work this time
Hello, I had a hair transplant a few years ago and have since decided to shave my head. I have some slight ridging along the hairline and am curious how SMP would work in my case. I plan to keep my hair buzzed at a very short length, similar to this.
I’ve already spoken with an SMP artist who believes it could work well despite the minor bumpiness, but I’d appreciate additional opinions. I’ve seen similar posts, but since my skin tone is a bit darker, I’m particularly interested in whether that affects the outcome.
Can you get scalp micropigmentation only on the sides?
Hello, I’ve been blessed with a mega-bald head where I don’t even have side hair. There are bald guys like Jason Statham who still have side hair, but I don’t even have that. And it really makes me insecure because having some side hair creates a frame for the face, while I just look like a complete lightbulb.
Are there cases like mine where a patient only gets micropigmentation on the sides?
I attach the kind of bald I have
He’s based in Montreal, Canada and I’m based in Toronto.
His work looks solid and I was thinking of getting what the photo above shows. It’s pretty sharp and low but I’m part black, with a tan skin complexion.
What’re your thoughts? Also, idk if pricing is allowed to discuss here but any idea how much he charges?
I’ve had SMP for 6 years and I’ve touched it up 2 years ago. I find that no matter what it always fades to a blue-grey colour. It still looks pretty good regardless most people can’t tell and ask me why I don’t just grow my hair out because it looks like I have a full head of hair. If I wait another 5 years I’m sure it’ll start looking blue again. I’ll be 35 by then. SMP helped me get over that harsh sudden sting of the “horseshoe” hairstyle I’ve had since I was 25. However there’s still a few things on the flip side I did not enjoy about having SMP.
- If I look at it really close I can personally tell it’s a tattoo. It’s not because “I know I have it” I’m an intelligent person, I’m confident that it doesn’t look totally convincing up close.
- The notion that from a social distance no one can tell. Sure, that’s great. But in my mind knowing anyone who gets close enough can possibly tell, gives me anxiety. In 6 years ONE person (and my lifestyle I see a lot of people) a stranger, noticed and told me my hair looks like a tattoo.
- I’m terrified of how I’ll get rid of it eventually.
If I let it fade naturally, exfoliate and let the sun do its work… I’m worried it’ll turn blue, fade unevenly or start to look bad/unnatural. I also hear that you CAN’T do it yourself, you have to laser your head. I already can’t believe I actually let someone tattoo my head, nonetheless laser it now…
My questions:
- What’s the best way to remove it? Several laser sessions, exfoliate, both?
- Do we all turn blue eventually? There’s no way we can just keep getting touch ups indefinitely, who’s gonna go over the same dots exactly right? We’ll over saturate our heads and inevitably need to laser them off.
- The person who did my SMP told me a whole bunch of lies like I need a touch up once every year. I feel like she wanted to oversaturate my head so she can get more money. She also always told me she had limited bookings to seem busy but I was always able to last minute change my appointment. Is that shady? I feel like we were all lied to on so many things. I feel like I no longer trust thing industry because I keep getting all of these different “facts” from people. Does anyone else feel this way?
- I am definitely not getting another touch up or a different hair solution. I’m good with being bald at this point. Have I urged you to not get SMP done? Because if you ask my opinion, I would say no don’t do it.
