103K Mile '08 L322 — New Owner
Hello! Well, I got L322-Pilled. Ooops! 2008, 4.4L v8 obs.
Stop me if you've heard this before. Guy in his mid 40s, wife tired of riding in his truck, he was tired of riding in her small SUVs. Neither of us could find a compromise, until...
Paid $5K for this. Wish me luck!
GOOD:
- 103K miles
- mostly 1 owner for 90K miles from what I can tell
- New water pump, radiator, and fuel pump last 20K miles
BAD:
- uh, was a MI car for most of its life, now down in FL
- ergo, has some rust on the rear hatch (bonnet!) and both rear wheel wells (you know the place)
WHAT IT NEEDS:
- oil change and new brakes and rotors happening rn
- headliner sagging
- more baselining: spark plugs, coils (?), transmission and diff fluid
- def need to find a rear hatch
- else?
OH! And geeze, what do I do about this key situation? Only came with what you see here, suddenly it's the 80s/90s again and we're pre-fob-era.
Hope to make this our reliable highway cruiser.
P38 still alive 🤘
Old girl is back with a new wheel bearing, new universal joint on propshaft and running beautifully.

My last of the line L322 4.4 TDV8
It's getting some work done over the course of the next month or so. The body is in decent condition but is starting to show it's age. Those upper tailgates are getting harder and harder to find!
Is the L322 trendy because it's cheap?
Hi fellow drivers,
I'm on my first range rover, a L322, and it's perfectly fine. Which got me thinking, is this truck trendy because people in their twenties and thirties can afford it? It was the luxury of these people when they were young? Is there a top gear aura on this?
The question is formulated in a provocative way but I really wonder if it's a bottom depreciation curve effect or not. Would the L405 be the same in 10-15 years once it's relegated to automobile antiquity? If not, why?
looking at a 2018 range rover sport HSE (3.0 supercharged) - how common are cooling system issues?
I’ve been researching the 2018 RR Sport HSE with the 3.0 supercharged V6
seen a few mentions about potential cooling system problems (water pump, thermostat, etc.), but it’s hard to tell how common this actually is vs just a few cases online
car I’m looking at has 90k km and decent service history
for those who’ve owned this engine - is this something I should expect and budget for, or more of an occasional issue
anything specific I should check before buying?
Need replacement "P" button
Can anyone tell me if this P button is available.to buy? The dealership is quite far and they are not very easy to reach by phone, thanks!!
Picked her up for 5k CDN, so like 5 bucks USD
2016 3.0 l diesel . 130,000kms . Let’s hope I can save the engine
Anyone have some advice on this? (Center Console)
The last RR I had didn’t have ports here. It had a fridge. This is a velar which has two USB ports for the CarPlay (obv) and a microSD. It looks like it has one installed? also an HDMI, Does anyone know what those are used for? I’m trying to connect the car with its own Internet. I assume that’s what the Sim is for?? does anyone know if that’s something you do through your cellular provider or is that through Land Rover? I was trying to do some update updates over Wi-Fi didn’t work, and what is the HDMI for? No headrest tvs or anything does anyone have any advice?
What would you say this rattle is? It seems to be coming from the Alternator

Cooling system upgrade
I have a 2019 aj126 l494. Looking to upgrade the cooling system to the metal parts. How much is jlr's parts or is anyone opposed to these?
2024 Sport - bumper mismatch
My car was involved in a hit and run in a parking lot. I had the front bumper painted at a local body shop for 500 bucks. The color is not a match. The car is pearl white but the bumper looks white now. I'm going to contact my local dealership to get a price quote to have it repainted but does anyone have any idea how much this will cost? Any advice? Thank you!
Range Rover Evoque - Door lock cylinder missing??
Hi all,
My 2022 RR Evoque had a "System charging fault" before the battery went dead. I went to access the car by using the key with the the lock behind the handle but to my dismay, the lock cylinder is completely missing!
I had the handles changed last year under JLR warranty, but this missing lock cylinder was never mentioned to me. I am in contact with them now but they seem reluctant to help now the car is out of warranty (now 4 years old).
I am shocked the cylinder is missing as not having an over-ride to gain entry to the vehicle seems dangerous also.
Any ideas on my best approach with JLR here please?
New to me 2013 Range Rover
Picked up a 2013 Range Rover with 130,000 miles from my independent mechanic. New rebuilt 5.0. All new cooling hoses and pipes. New front axles, all new brakes and rotors. Fresh fluids all around. 1 year warranty engine and 6 months bumper to bumper
Very pleased to add with my 2019 RRS Dynamic 5.0SC.
Wish me luck
Engine wouldn’t resume correctly
I got the “vehicle will shutdown if brake isn’t pressed” message because apparently when I backed into a parking space and stopped the stupid auto-stop/start kicked in to stop the engine before I put it in park.
So I press the brake to wake up the engine. I’ve done that in the past without any issue but today when the engine woke up it decided to sleep again immediately and it kept doing that for 4-5 cycles in about 10 seconds before I decided to shut down the vehicle altogether. Luckily it operated normally once started up again.
Anyone experience this behavior before and/or know if it’s indicative of a larger issue?

Update: I got the new wheels!
This is a follow up to an earlier post about the difficulty I was having trying to upgrade the 21" wheels on my 2025 RR. I was finally able to do the upgrade to the 23" black. I think part of my problem was that I wanted the 22" ones and I was told by the mechanic that they only offer these in 23". The upgrade happened at the Marin dealership, but not without a couple price issues that I had to iron out - like a sensor upgrade for $1,400. Anyway, the car finally is at its full potential and looks killer.
