Watson Lake sunrise access

Hello Prescottizonans. I want to bring a kayak to Watson Lake and be on the water at sunrise, which is about 5am. I see the entry fee station does not open til 7am. Is the Lake closed to boats before 7am? Im hoping I can self pay and catch the sunrise over the dells.

ISO potential friends

Hello I am a 22 F living in Prescott. My boyfriend (21M) and I have a hard time making friends and I guess I just wanted advice on where to meet other people our age. We are both a bit of homebodies so I’m sure this contributes to the problem but we are both more left leaning and not MAGA just looking for communities to make friends. We both like video games, hiking, and just finding fun stuff to do. I know there are the bars downtown but any other suggestions on events or places to meet people.

This made me realize how fragile modern healthcare actually is

I stumbled across this book after seeing it mentioned in a thread about long term blackouts. What made me actually take an interested in it was the fact that it’s written by a Venezuelan surgeon who had to keep treating patients after their healthcare system basically stopped functioning.

She wasn’t experimenting or theorizing. She was actively working in hospitals with no meds, no reliable electricity, and empty pharmacies. The book is a collection of the workarounds and protocols they developed just to keep people alive.

It covers everything from how to recognize a heart attack or stroke without machines, to what medications are still safe past expiration, to how they handled infections when antibiotics were scarce. A lot of it is stuff most of us have never had to think about because we assume help is always available.

I found it interesting not in a fear based way, but in a “this is what real-world medicine looks like when systems fail” way. It’s honestly more grounding than dramatic.

Posting here in case anyone else is interested in that kind of real, experience based knowledge rather than worst case hypotheticals. Definitely the most unique books I've read in the past few years. survivalhealthmanual.com is where I had to buy it because the author sells direct to consumer instead of through Amazon or other retailors.

Anyone late 20s/early 30s?

Hey everyone. So I'm a transplant here living with family after grad school and trying to figure my life out. I don't see myself here long term, but I'd like to build some semblance of a life here in the meantime. I'm 31 years old just feel very out of place here... I'm pretty liberal, pretty alternative (music), kind of a spooky. Very depth oriented, real existential sort of person. Not really a drinker or a smoker, don't vibe with the hippy sort of scene. I'm single (straightish female) and not seeing much of any aspect of my demographic represented here really. Would love to have friends to experience life with, would love a partner... So just posting to see if any eyes on this would resonate with me and want to reach out, or any suggestions on where I could connect with people. Thanks for reading

Transplants, how are you liking Prescott so far?

For those that moved within the last ~5 years, how has your experience been overall?

What have been the biggest pros and cons compared to where you came from? Curious about things like lifestyle, cost of living, people/culture, weather, growth, traffic, etc.

ISO Vet good with gastrointestinal issues

Normally I love our current vet but they don’t seem to be getting to the bottom of my dog’s chronic colitis. I’m considering going for a second opinion if I can find someone who has had success with more difficult cases of gastrointestinal intestinal issues as my dog does not seem to be responding to the traditional treatment methods

Outdoor pools in or around Prescott?

I just want to swim outside. I know I might need to wait 2 weeks until Memorial Day but as far as I can tell there are 0 public outdoor pools in Prescott even during the summer season. I just went into the Hilton downtown and asked them if they offer pool passes and they acted lowkey annoyed at me. Like ok girl, I was just asking, yall don’t even have a phone number on your website!!! Wtf!! I’m willing to pay yall money!!!

Best thing I can find is chino valley aquatic center but it is 35 minutes away and the hours are not clear on their website. I work until 5pm so something open past then would be ideal. I’m not rich so I can’t join a country club or something like that. What are people doing to swim outside?!?!

Maybe I’m dumb because this is my first summer in Prescott and I’m from Chicago where I walk out my door and 2 blocks down there is a free Great Lake to swim in. But how are yall surviving without even one swimming pool?! Is it just because everyone can afford to live in a boujee community with one?! I would genuinely be willing to pay someone who lives in one of those boujee communities to use their pool for the summer. Can we please share the love with students who are not rich?!?!

Anyway please help me.

Yavapai cops prowling for tickets

I’ve literally only ever gotten speeding tickets in yavapai county, twice on the I17 and once on the 69. Every time they were major dicks and once was entrapment (tailgated me undercover on the 69 for about 10 minutes and then pulled me over the second I started speeding up to create distance between us). They are always on the prowl this time of the month so be very careful on the I17 in yavapai. They are assholes with nothing better to do than meet their stupid ticket quota. If you’re a cop in yavapai, y’all suck and need to get a grip on reality

Best Photography Spots?

Visiting my family this week in Prescott near downtown and want to see if there are any good spots for photography (landscape & street) that are sort of hidden gems.
Thank you in advance!

Local gunshop for 22 revolver?

What local gun shop has 22lr/22wmr revolvers for sale? I know pretty much all carry pistols, I’m looking for a revolver. Super wrangler, wrangler or rough rider.

Just FYI for the Guy in the brodozer who tried to run me off the road after I got ahead of him in traffic...

Lane filtering literally reduces traffic and is safer for motorcycles (getting rear ended is pretty common), it's legal and is not a threat to your manhood.

Cops in this area are genuinely so weird

As stated the cops in this area are so weird. I was heading down sunset in PV into castle canyon mesa area at around 1:45 am because that’s the time I had gotten off work, and there was a cop in front of me quite a bit up. I notice he starts to slow down to under the speed limit and actually eventually fully stops in the middle of the road, and then as I come closer he starts going again. So now I’m behind him and then he gets into the middle lane(turning yellow lane) and he slows down and sits there for a second and I go behind him, (because this is my turn to go onto my road.) And then he proceeds to drive in the middle lane going down sunset, not turning down the street that the middle lane is intended for. So I go down my street and make a U-turn so I can park my car on the side of the house in line with the other cars at my house, and this cop literally appeared to make a U-turn on sunset to come down my street to see what I was doing I guess? I understand it was super early in the morning, but it gets to a point where it’s not making sure if a drunk driver or something of that matter, it’s just straight up baiting people. Like it’s seriously not cool and weird asfk, like think about if anyone else did this shit in a normal car. Not normal at all and weird. Totally protecting and serving. But yeah if anyone has any similar experiences let me know please

I'm search of an genuine haunting

In my experience I've never encountered an actual haunting. Only just the taps and foot steps but nothing I would call an actual haunting
