ISO Vet good with gastrointestinal issues

Normally I love our current vet but they don’t seem to be getting to the bottom of my dog’s chronic colitis. I’m considering going for a second opinion if I can find someone who has had success with more difficult cases of gastrointestinal intestinal issues as my dog does not seem to be responding to the traditional treatment methods

Success transitioning off Hills W/D?

My dog has a very sensitive stomach leading to constant colitis and our vet’s next plan of action is putting him on Hills W/D. At this point I’m willing to try anything to get his poop back to normal and stop needing to feed chicken and rice. But as an 80 lb dog, he eats a lot. And that’s gonna get reallly expensive. Thinking ahead but I’m hoping at some point down the line we can transition to something else that is maybe similar but still works. Anyone have success transitioning off Hills W/D to something else once your dog’s stomach
chilled out? (Fwiw we’ve already tried Purina PPP sensitive stomach)
