When people ask why I play romhacks...

This is Emerald Legacy Enhanced btw. Exclsior added following for the first pokemon in your party and since starting almost 200 hours ago I've been going crazy with screenshots! I love seeing my little homies--and sometimes very big homies--walking with me. It brings me so much joy. Thank you again to the original crew on Legacy and to Exclsior and all the other devs that worked on their individual features that he compiled. <3

Is normal that Cool Trainers can still use Hyper Potions in Hard Mode?

Despite one of the characteristic of Hard Mode is that neither your nor your oponent can use items in battle, the Cool Trainers still use Hyper Potions while I can't do the same. Is that normal?

Genlocke: Gen 2 complete

The Legacy Genlocke continues! Love the added challenge in these older games. The changes to Crystal caught me off guard, with lots of crits one-shotting team members. Lost Seadra to a crit flamethrower from the rival's Typhlosion. Didn't realize how low Seadra's special defense was. And the E4 went great, but Lance's Zapdos started a snowball that resulted in losing Starmie and Espeon. On to Emerald Legacy!

Genlocke ruleset:

  1. Capture the first Pokémon in each area

  2. If a Pokémon faints, it gets boxed

  3. Set mode/level caps to gyms/no items in battle

  4. If a Pokémon participates in a gym battle but doesn't come to the E4, it gets retired

  5. Champions get the following benefits: Max IVs->Good nature->Good ability->Shiny

Just wondering because as much of an improvement as the Legacy series is, I still sometimes wanna fire up the OGs. Wondering if anyone else is like this

I beat the E4 this morning >!--and after that I ran to the trick house to get my Eevee only to be pleasantly surprised by its shiny status--!< and I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed all the features and changes in this hack. It's my first of the legacy hacks, but now there might be a chance I'll back track a bit and tackle Yellow and Crystal again despite trying to play the full series in generational order.

Great job to everyone involved in these projects. Thank you for this!

I've got a Calm (-Atk) Mawile without intimidate in my hardcore Nuzlocke run, do I even bother to train it? Can it be useful? I know they buffed it but I try to avoid grinding if possible.

I had a (severe) mental breakdown recently and I've been a bit bedridden while recovering from it. I stumbled upon SmithPlaysPokémon and something about his voice and cadence is so soothing to my nervous system it's making the recovery a whole lot easier.

I'm not sure why. I suspect because gaming tubers love shouting and it's refreshing not being yelled at? But I don't think it's purely that. Like I said it's his actual voice and cadence that scratches a major itch in my brain and tells my nervous system I'm not being hunted for sport.

I haven't slept well in months (and then we wonder why breakdowns are afoot), but when I put his videos on I can easily fall (and stay) asleep. And not because they're boring. I love the vids. Because again, his voice is soothing for some mystical reason I can't understand lol.

Maybe it resonates at a certain frequency or something? I'm not sure.

But I mean it. It is uncanny (and much appreciated) how relaxing his videos are to watch.

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced or picked up on this?

Dragon scale Emerald Legacy

I’m trying to do a full dragon mono team (including non dragon pre-evos to begin with) and am struggling to find where I can get the dragon scale - I know OG Emerald doesn’t have it but was hoping Legacy would.

Is there any way you guys can allow more winged pokemon to learn the fly hm? It's annoying that many of them don't and I hate running to a pc to use fly if i dont have a pokemon that can learn it on my team. Fly is not a very good move anyway, it would just make it easier to use.

The pokemon that I think should learn the fly hm are:

Vivillon

Butterfree

Beedrill

Jumpluff

Mothim

Masquerain

Ledian

Vespiquen

Ninjask

Emolga

Yanmega

Magnezone

Gliscor

If a tiny wooper can surf, i think these pokemon should be able to fly. thank you for reading!

Bill's PC Box glitched I guess?

So I just started a run and tried to catch my 7th mon and I couldn't due to no box space. I get to the pc and see this pictures attached to post. Is there any way to fix this?

Traditionally I have had a very similar team type makeup through out most of my pokemon experiences. Fire, water, grass, bird, electricity, psi.
With coverage moves to give fighting, ice, bug, and dark.
I’m trying to mix it up a bit and want a golem: he would cover against flying, fire, normals, electricity, but I don’t have an answer for gyarados.

For me my must keeps are my cynder, psi, and gyarry. Do I need to change my other three?

First question is about Crystal Legacy. How will the Kanto Expansion work with the game saves currently in use? Will I need to reset my game to get ahold of a version with the new content, or is it just a case of saving in a Pokemon Centre, and transferring my save over to the new version?

Second question is about XY Legacy. This sounds like a really dumb question, but will the Heliolisk line receive access to the move Flash Cannon, whether by TM or otherwise (like via move reminder)?

I just think that the bright sun lizard that makes bright flashes, and gets Flash via TM, should learn Flash Cannon. I mean, Heliolisk gets Dark Pulse, and that arguably makes less sense than Flash Cannon.

It would give the line a cool coverage move to learn, it makes sense, and it gives Flash Cannon a solidly strong user of it.

I was scrolling through the roster when I got this. I completely forgot to check its summary screen so I have no idea what it looks like. I honestly thought it was a completely random bonus feature from within the rom at first.

I did however select it as the lead for my team, alongside Starmie and Typhlosion. However, when I actually went into battle Starmie was the lead instead, and the unknown pokémon is completely absent from my party screen even though it takes up its second slot.

If it helps I'm trying to build a Battle Factory streak through save states. I spent hours at this facility as a kid but never got the gold symbol, now I must have battled Nolan 11 times hah.
