Hi guys, I live in Rajasthan and the place I live has hardly any local stores so I’ve no choice but to order the fishes online. This is my very first planted, no Co2 fish tank.

I came across a lot of websites but I was quite confused. After comparing all the websites I finally decided upon freshwateraquatica and I finished my prepaid order and everything but afterwards checked out the reviews online and learned they are scammers. I placed the order late at night so I haven’t received the QR or any sort of Whatsapp message from them yet and thankfully I found out before I could pay and also mailed them to cancel my order.

Since this turned out a scam, now I’m even more confused which website to trust as there are tons and some has heavy shipping charges or very costly fishes. Then there are some websites only has a couple of fishes which I want the rest, order from some other website. Some websites stay out of stock most of the time or has bad customer service or low fish survival rate.

I’m very very confused. I also came across Bunnycart. I ordered plants from them a couple weeks back and theynd were quite ok. Most of them melted and were very tiny and very less rhizomes and a lot of then didn’t survived. The frogbit i received had one small bunch and 3 random leaves which ofc didn’t survived. A couple of plants that I ordered, such as Ludwigia Repens, Rotala H’ra Anubias nana gold, and one of the Vallisneria spiralis , went through the melting phase and now they are thriving.

I ordered 2 times from them as they are mostly out of stock. They gave the tracking at all but somehow my courier got in city a day prior than the mentioned delivery date way early morning and I received an update that I’ll still be receiving it tomorrow only which is the mentioned delivery date and they kept my plants there for a day even though they could’ve delivered it sooner and some of my plant would have better chances at surviving.

I also came across Himadri Aquatics, PetKadai, Ohmletshoppe, JAD Aquatics, FishyKart.in, deeshrimpindia, Best4pets, Blessings Aquarium, Aquashoppe.

If anyone has experience with any of these stores then please give me an honest review, it would really help me a lot.

Also if anyone has any experience with small home fish breeders like you see on Instagram, YouTube and stuff, then please let me know as well 🙏

I’m looking to buy- Dwarf Gourami (1) Neon Tetras (6) Platinum/Mosaic Dumbo Ear Guppies (2 pairs) Kuhli Loach (4-5) (maybe) Cherry red / Fire red shrimps (6-8) 2 zebra or spotted nerite snails

Thank you.

Suggest your favourite brands for aquarium set up: aquasoil, filter, lights etc!

I’ve realised the hobby becomes expensive when you have to keep upgrading because the LFS tried selling you stuff. 🤷‍♀️ I trust this subs opinions more. 😎

Your Most preferred brand of:
- Aquasoil / Sand / Dirt
- HoB / Sponge Filters
- Fertilisers
- Lights
- Heater
- Fish Food
- Water Test Kit

Going to buy my 2nd tank tomorrow! 🤸‍♀️

PS - anyone from Mumbai can recommend shops to buy 60-80 litre tanks? My usual shop doesn’t have stock.

I wanna set up a planted aquarium in a 4 ft long , 2 ft high tank, I've searched all internet for lighting, but it's either too expensive or too small for the tank .

Rn I'm leaning towards buying 2 bluepet flat nano s4 but I'm still sceptical . I'm open to all suggestions.

Indoor Terracotta Pond

Hi everyone, this is my indoor Terracotta Pond setup. It started off as an experiment as I wanted to explore how I could use terracotta containers for aquascaping. Always wanted to have a bit of nature in my office so I ended up designing this. Learnt a lot about small setups along the way as I am more used to larger outdoor pond setups. Yet to add some floating plants to it to bring out the movement of the water because of the small waterfall and also to further filter the water. Hope you enjoy it and try it out yourselves...

Just bought two fish- shopkeeper said they’re flowerhorn parrots. What do you guys think? Both are around 2.5 inches right now.

Are these actually flowerhorns that will develop a kok, or something else?

So as a follow-up to this post - https://www.reddit.com/r/Planted\_tanks\_India/s/QNxHA97tvm, I managed to get a tank of 2 ft X 1 ft x 1 ft, along with aqua soil, sand, a bluepet filter, a 16W LED light and some plants.

Its been around 4 days and the plants are slowly growing. I keep the light switched ON for around 7 hours. I had some 3 very small snails, looks like pest snails, but their numbers is upto 10 now. They do seem to feed on the bit of algae that is appearing.

I had the following queries;

  1. I plan to buy a water test kit, especially to check on Ammonia. Any experience with Bionix?

  2. Should I buy Beneficial bacteria? Any recommendations?

  3. Any other tips to check if the tank is cycled?

I am not looking to add any fish for now, as I want to focus on plant growth. I may get some cherry red shrimp though.

Thank you.

My tank is now a week old. I have added more montecarlo and more background plants are on the way. Even after doing more than 50% water changes a day my ammonia is still 1ppm-1.5ppm.
Do I still do 50% water changes everyday or every other day from this week on.

Finally I have decided to buy a good fish tank and start a new hobby .

Please let me know some quality ultra clear brands which I can buy.

I liked "ADA Cube Garden 90-P (90x45x45cm / 10mm) " but it's 59,000INR .

Its 20k above my budget.

Based on your experience, is any other brand offering similar quality & durability?

Please do recommend alternate options and where I can buy in Bangalore.

Thanks in Advance.

So this is my planted tank, It's been like 3 weeks since I planted it and it still isn't blooming yet,my plants are melting and the new leaves growth is very thin.Ive added diy CO2 system, filter, light (wrgb: by bluepet(nano S4 16W) ,I keep the fixed lighting hours and have done 3 water changes so far(weekly) ,but it still doesn't feel ready to put livestock in it,(The video was after I siphoned out the ,what I suppose was hair algae ,and all the dead melting leaves),also my is My hygrophila difformis shooting those roots everywhere in the tank, like what I saw online, they don't root so much on the stems,Is it normal for Limnophila Hippuridiodes and rotala to completely shed leaves before growing new ones? ,like my rotala has started getting the aquatic leaves but Limnophila still doesn't look ready, what might be the issues,I think I'll be getting my fish in a week or so.

Help choosing light

Hi guys, I'm about to set up a 1.5 ft planted tank with low to mid tech plants and diy co2 I'm using a well balanced dirted substrate and already bought a sobo 606h HOB filter with good quality filter media but having trouble deciding which light to choose LFS is suggesting me to use Bluepet br 40 (I'm using br 50 pic as reference),that one costs around 960 and has 3 modes and 13 watt and it's underpowered,I'm considering 2 neo helios s3 pro plus (1700) or 2 bluepet s4 nano 10 watt (1100). Lfs and some people saying that neo helios isn't worth it and doesn't grow plants well also the shop gives 1 year replacment warrenty if bought from him what should I do my budget is tight can't extend it much also the bluepet br 40 one have wierd colour you can see in YouTube only one guy reviewed it well.

Thanks.
