Old cartoon special.. unknown year, before 1990.

Trying to find a cartoon I saw maybe in 1987 to 1990, but it could have been produced way earlier. It was some kind of movie or special.. I think for Christmas? Or thanksgiving? I'm not from the US but there was music of drums and the fife. Main character was a boy. The setting I remember was night time. Has an old Disney vibe to it. I was too young to remember any more details.

Already tried searching with chatGPT, with no luck.

First post

Movie opens in a church. There’s a casket and the church is empty except for (I think a Priest and the widow) she’s crying.

Separately people walk in seemingly to confirm that the person is dead. One lady appears to stick him with a hat pin another (George Kennedy?) holds a mirror under the body’s nose/mouth.

I need help finding a movie from my childhood

I recently remembered about this movie that I watched when I was little on dvd around 2011-2013 but there is a high chance that that movie is older. But I can’t remember it’s name for the life of me!

So I remember that it had early 3D animation. I don’t remember the main plot but I remember that it had weird looking blue aliens and it had something to do with portals to a different planet/place maybe? And maybe (but thats a huge maybe) there was a conflict between natives and humans.

I don’t know why but I want to say that it was europian country production that made it.

Thats all I remember really…

I hope someone can help me with this!

HBO series

I am trying to remember a Sci Fi series that played on HBO in the early to mid 80's. Took place in England and a father and son drive in a small English village were weird things are happening (people are being made compliant or falling into a new religion.) I remember the lead bad guy sitting at a table and saying something along the lines "it is time" his chair would turn around and a bright light would come out of the floor to turn people, except the good guys reset the clocks and when he turned back around nothing happened until the light did go off and every one who was turned that looked at it was turned to stone in a Stonehenge like setting. The very end was the whole this happened once its going to happen again thing as the father and son see what looks like the bad guy driving into the village for the first time.

An old Asian gangster movie, staircase fight scene

I remember watching an Asian gangster movie many years ago, I'd love to figure out what the title was.

A group of young guys in Asia, maybe China or Hongkong, perhaps Japan, are working for a big crime organisation; things go wrong, and they flee to a country in South America(?).

The crime organisation comes after them, and there is a big fight scene, including Parkour style action in a building's staircase. It's a tall building, but not modern, more of an old favela/ project sort of neighbourhood.

The staircase is partly open to the outside, and the protagonist(s) jump in and out of the building, up and down that staircase.

I need help finding this movie!

I watched this when I was really little, maybe 5 - 6? All I remember is that these two homeless guys (Guy 1 and Guy 2) would go to the back of a restaurant, and a waitress would come out and feed them. One day, Guy 2 didn't show up. Guy 1 thought it was weird but didn't question further. Then the waitress came out and gave Guy 1 what looked like either potato wedges or some sort of meat. The only other scene I remember is Guy 1 going out into the town square to see a video on a building. There was a bunch of people tied up around a rectangular table with black bags on their heads. The video panned to the waitress revealing Guy 2 as one of the people. Guy 1 realizes he ate his friend and freaks out. That's all I remember. Any help would be appreciated!!

Time travel movie with a doctor

I saw this short clip of a movie where a group of adults time travel to the 1800-1900

They went to the hotel and found out that a room there is only a cent worth

And in another scene they were having an auction by the garden and one of the main characters betted $2.20 and everyone was shocked because that seemed expensive in that time or era

A blonde girl cheered and was saying "to doctor (character name)"

The blonde girl was like, making fun of the character because she thought that doctor sounded silly??

Pls help me 🥹🥹‼️

Peeling face movie?

So im yet another person who watched a movie as a kid in the 90s and have never found it again.

The only scene I remeber is a man sitting infront of a, I believe white vanity with a big beautiful ornate mirror, I think the room was very red or red lighting. And hes just sitting there and starts like putting his hands under his face (like a mask or something like that) but it looked just like a face. And i think took it off???

It's not poltergeist (100%sure) or face off (to my knowledge)

I remember nothing else, dont know if he was another person or a monster? Thats the only part that vividly sticks out in my head.

Maybe its not real and I dream? But if something sounds familiar let me know!

Thanks in advance!!!

A 1970s movie possibly, English production, about a controversial public figure being protected around the clock by government VIP guards.

I thought maybe it was Laurence Olivier as the public figure, but I don't think so.

One of the most memorable and disturbing scenes I recall was when the government VIP guard didn't hesitate to jump on an enemy grenade to protect the VIP and the rest of the panicked crowd, and seconds later blood splattered around the guard's belly.

Will be very shocked is someone can tell me this movie… 1990’s kids film

i remember so very little details but here goes..

I remember a cave with jelly like stuff on the walls… I’m not sure if there was people or something else trapped in the jelly I just remember the jelly on the cave walls. think it may have been pink jelly but could be wrong?

i also remember a kid in his room sad and his mum brings him his dinner on a tray.

those are the only somewhat clear memories I have, though over the years when I’ve been trying to figure out I’ve wondered was it about a teen wolf?

if anyone can identify this movie I will be greatly surprised and also delighted as I have always wanted to find it!

Popular movie in the last 10 years. “Bad boy” guy and “nerdy” girl fall in love.

Can’t remember much at all. Never seen it but want to. It was a nerdy girl (think like Enid in Ghost World), and a “bad boy” guy, who fall in love. Male actor is pretty attractive. There might have been song she sang, (karaoke?) or scene with a song that made the rounds on TikTok.

It could’ve been indie but it was popular. Americana vibes, could have involved a diner.

Please help 😭

Fantasy Movie before 1992

Hi all,

I am looking for a fantasy movie that is at least 30 years old I would say. I can only remember some strange details of which I hope that they belong to the same movie.

  1. There was a lake where people drank from and everyone who did so became blind. Could be that this was in the vicinity of a small community and they where either hexed or enslaved or extorted.

  2. There was some kind of video effect that was either tied to the drinking of water or maybe a magician/witch performing a spell. The video effect looked like the whole screen was flashing with color changes. Think of it like a negative (but maybe with variations with different color palettes).

  3. I think that the area around the lake/well/water source looked a bit like a dry steppe or mountain area. Not much green, but gravel and such.

I don't know if the movie was a US production or maybe something European as they also produced a lot of fantasy movies back in the days.

Please help me, this drives me nuts. No internet digging could help me so far.

I’ve been looking for a movie for 40+ years.

I saw the trailer for this movie on a broadcast system called ‘Preview’ back in the early 80s. I would have been around 10. It was a dystopian film in much the same sprit as Brazil. It had these ‘cops?’, or some government entity, that bursts through a door in the trailer and there is a tank with a battering ram instead of a gun. It seems like they destroyed the house. Oh, the the soldiers/cops have Nazi style helmets and masks that reminded me of Darth Vader.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Help!

I can't find this movie anywhere and it feels like a fever dream but I know it was real because I loved, watched it heaps. Early 90s on VHS. All I can remember is a girl who is a tomboy, maybe like 10-12. I think her and her family have to move somewhere, looks like rural/desert. She's obviously not happy about having to move. She meets a group of kids and becomes friends with them. I can't remember why but there are bad guys after them, I think they stumbled across a crime or they had something the bad guys needed but they get away on ATVs in the final big chase near the end of the movie.

Trying to find an old animated series about a family in a forest and a train 2014s/2015s

I’m trying to find an old animated series I watched as a child, and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere. I found it by accident while switching through channels, so I don’t know what channel it was on

Here’s what I remember: The art style was more realistic, not exaggerated like typical anime. It felt similar to older European-style animation or something like Les Misérables. The story takes place in a large wooden house in the middle of a forest. There is a big extended family living together: A strict, cold father who didn’t show much emotion and didn’t allow the children to leave. Around five children (some teenagers). An aunt living with them as well, along with her husband and their children. There is a railway very close to the house. The train looked old, very long, and it was important because it seemed like the only way to reach a nearby city. The nearby city was much more modern (cars, developed), while their life in the forest felt older and isolated.

Important plot points: One of the sons (a teenager) is the main focus. He has a little sister (around 7 years old) that he deeply cares about and wants to take with him if he leaves. The children are not allowed to go to the city. A large forest fire starts at some point. The father refuses to leave, saying the fire won’t reach them. The fire becomes a major turning point in the story. The overall tone was serious, heavy, and not like a typical kids cartoon.

Late 90's Indie drama "20 something's cast/post breakup/I never reached my potential/stoner friend/broke down car/can't escape this town" kinda film.

I could be fusing a few movies together but I really don't think so.

I vaguely remember the satellite navigation menu saying the title of the movie was "Hanging with [ridiculous friend name]" or "[ridiculous friend name]'s Thoughts".

In the film the main character was going nowhere in life, he was an aspiring writer as I recall he had returned home and there was a romantic subplot (either reunited with an old flame - got burned again or had a second chance at an unrequited love).

He did a lot of smoking dope and venting his frustrations with a carefree zen stoner friend who had a ridiculous nickname. As for the nickname. It was something truly awful like "Burp or Barf or Dirt".

When the main character is at the end of his rope with the town the local mechanic calls saying his car has been repaired and he drives off into the desert for - I want to say Phoenix - for the big opportunities that will surely turn his life around.

It was an abrupt and not very hopeful ending. You got the feeling he would never be satisfied.

Not a comedy but gave off some Kevin Smith vibes. No high stakes. Not surreal, kind of bright but the tone was aggressively normal and bleak. No famous actors. No famous songs in the soundtrack.

I've looked at a few films from this era Go-Getter, Low Life, Slacker and none of these are the film in my head.

Appreciate any thoughts! Thanks for reading!

Christmas Movie - Prob made for TV

I remember a quiet afternoon around 1990 where I watched a Xmas movie on TV and then could never find it again. There was a “real” Santa who helped out a teenage girl who may have run away from home. i distinctly remember them in a hot air balloon but other than that I can not remember details other than liking the movie. Thanks for any help.

Please help! 90s American movie

Hey! So I have both very specific and very vague recollections of this movie. I'll summarise what I think I remember:

- Story takes place in a mountainy area, lots of forests and peaks

- From what I remember it's a family movie (mom, dad + two kids I think)

- Something to do with a man getting Bigfoot's abilities, or maybe it's the abilities of other animals

- Sinister mining/deforestation plot (I think)

I know this movie exists, please help me find it!
