A 1970s movie possibly, English production, about a controversial public figure being protected around the clock by government VIP guards.

I thought maybe it was Laurence Olivier as the public figure, but I don't think so.

One of the most memorable and disturbing scenes I recall was when the government VIP guard didn't hesitate to jump on an enemy grenade to protect the VIP and the rest of the panicked crowd, and seconds later blood splattered around the guard's belly.

Real reasons for paper being rejected by SSRN

Perhaps I must be the only academic in the world whose peer-review published paper has been rejected by SSRN, and yes I feel embarrassed! But has anyone else (or care to admit!) they've experienced the same with SSRN? This is the response I got from them recently:

"Thank you for submitting your paper to SSRN. All submissions undergo a thorough evaluation. After review, your manuscript does not meet the criteria for posting on SSRN. This decision is final, and we do not provide rejection details. We appreciate your interest."

Goodness, even the judges on America's Got Talent provide more constructive feedback to its contestants.
