Dear NZXT

Since Windows update KB5083769, NZXT Cam has had major connectivity issues between the cam itself and it reading any information from our motherboard (CPU/GPU info specifically)

I've been monitoring this subreddit a bit for a fix, and all I've seen is more and more people report the same issue as me, if not worse.

As customer of your product, I feel your acknowledgement towards your customers from a company perspective is unacceptable. You should have acknowledged the issues, and ensured us a fix is on the way, as the recommendations you gave us, are outdated and inadequate to our specific issue between CAM and Windows 11.

People like myself and many others on here have been struggling to find a permanent fix for this issue, so we don't have to constantly reboot our PC to make it work, or mess with our settings.

I understand the latest windows update has messed around with how the USB reads and feeds information but, there should be better feedback to the community as a whole rather than individually dealing with the same situation.

You NEED to improve your overall community engagement, if it's more than 5-10 people reporting the same or similar issue, it NEEDS to be alerted to the community as a whole. Even if people are not being effected, it's worth noting Incase they themselves become effected.

For context I just finished a Bachelors in Business Management and I'm using my 4 years learning in customer engagement and relationships in this message.

But NZXT. You NEED to be more open, transparent, and engaging with the community instead of being quiet and dealing with the situations individually.

This isn't an attack. I'm here to give my honest recommendation.

Air Cooled NZXT H2 Flow Build

Hey guys. Looooong time lurker, first time poster on r/sffpc.

When I saw the NZXT flow for the first time a couple months ago, I knew I wanted to do a "cool" gaming build in it, meaning selecting parts that are interesting to me for one reason or another vs going for what's "meta". That's how I ended up with a Core Ultra 5 250k Plus and a B580 build. All I play is Overwatch on a 240hz 1080p panel, so as long as the build can handle that I'm happy!
I also recently saw this interview where the creators of the NZXT case were asked if they would consider making a mesh panel to replace the tempered glass that covers the CPU area of the case, and their response was:
"strapping on an air cooler at this point it just seems... y'know, the pros of it just dont seem all too great."

Okie dokie.

So anyway, I went ahead and designed a custom mesh side panel that matches the cases aesthetics. I didn't want or need a liquid cooler for this build. The 67mm tall Thermalright cooler is doing great in synthetic workloads and gaming with the chosen CPU at stock settings.

Also side note:
For those who have built into this case, is it just me, or are the factory intended cable tie-down points kinda stupid? I prefer my "automotive wiring harness" inspired cable management lol.

Specs

  • CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 250k Plus (New)
  • CPU Cooler: Thermalright AXP120-X67 (custom mesh panel to allow this guy to breathe)
  • Motherboard: ROG STRIX Z890-I GAMING WIFI (FB Marketplace score, used)
  • Memory (RAM): 96GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 (Just what I already had)
  • Storage (SSD): Samsung 970 500gb (Used)
  • Graphics Card (GPU): Intel B580 (Bought it new 'cause I thought it was cool, but haven't had a chance to use it until now 😄)
  • Power Supply (PSU): Lian Li Sp750 (Used)
  • Case: NZXT H2 Flow
  • Case Fans: Stock plus 2 random 140mm NZXT fans I had around

RMA whiplash

I know this is a bit choosy beggarish but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask for a PSU upgrade after the c1000 melted my 5090 ( I def made it clear I was ready to pay the difference when I made the request, I asked if it was possible and how we could go about it if it was). 12:45pm today I get an email saying they got the approval and asking which model I would like, I reply with the model and then at 3pm I get an email saying they're sorry but they can't approve my request... it's not even different reps, now I really wanna know what happened to poor Juan between 12:45pm and 3pm...

Just a small Lian Li upgrade… and now I’m obsessed

I couldn’t resist anymore and finally upgraded to new Lian Li fans – and now I’m officially part of the Lian Li cult 😅

And honestly? I’m so happy with them. These are probably the most beautiful fans I’ve ever seen in a PC build.

Temps got a little bit better too, but the biggest thing for me is the noise level. In idle, my PC is basically silent now.

What’s funny is that I finally understand what people mean when they talk about “pump noise.” Before this, I literally never noticed it because the rest of my system was louder 😅

Absolutely loving the upgrade so far.

Cam / Detection issues after update.

About 6 months into my build (no issues) and cam just stopped monitoring my pc, and the kraken won’t display said read-outs.

I know from consensus posting it seems to be the latest windows update, I had factory reset my PC thinking it was something I did.
If anyone has any fix recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.

H6 Flow ontop of H9 flow

Went to microcenter over the weekend and picked up some parts to make my girlfriend’s pc match mine, a mini-me.

For anyone thinking of whether to get the H6 Flow or the H9 flow, get whatever you like most, both are fantastic cases.

My New H6 Flow Build

I finally decided to upgrade my pc, while building it, I had to replace my old motherboard (msi pro b760m-a wifi DDR4) because it wouldn’t post and detect a ram slot due to a bent pin (even though it worked the whole time before even with the bent pin) and I couldn’t fix it. I got myself the arctic freezer iii 360 pro with this build too and I can honesty say I’m so happy with the final outcome.

GPU - Zotac RTX 3080 Amp Holo

CPU - i7 14700kf

CPU Cooler - Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360

RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32gb (4x8)

MOBO - B760 Gaming Plus Wifi DDR4

CASE - HZXT H6 Flow with 2 Arctic p14 pro fans and 4 Arctic p12 pro fans

SSD - Crucial P310 2TB

PSU - Corsair RM750e

NZXT-ESC now supports live “Now Playing” overlays on the Kraken LCD

I turned the NZXT Kraken LCD into a fully customizable “Now Playing” display 👀

NZXT-ESC can now show:
• Album covers
• Song title / artist / album
• Auto-hide when music stops
• Browser audio support (YouTube, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)
• Spotify + basically anything exposing media info to Windows

And the best part?
It all works together with existing overlays like CPU/GPU temps, RAM usage, GIFs, videos, clocks, and more all inside the same layer-based layout system

This update uses my companion app: NowPlaying.WebSocket.

Real-time audio visualizers reacting to your music are already in development too

Still polishing things and there may be some bugs, but I’m really excited to finally share this feature

Just finished doing a rebuild in the updated H9 Flow. The case is great to build with, plenty of room to work with and cable management is a breeze.

I managed to squeeze 2 fans in the rear exhaust area. I've got 2 more reverse fans on the way to replace the ones in there now. Overall I'm very happy with out it came out.

Edit: I miss spoke originally, currently the rear 2 fans are reverse fans blowing out and I have standard fans on the way.

A few months ago the leds on my front fans just stopped turning on. Fans still turn ok, I just have no lights. No options for them in GCC either which is weird because there used to be.

Gigabyte B650 motherboard if that matters.
