RTX ROG ASTRAL 5090 12VHPWR Scare! I was using about 22gb of vram, on average, with my local AI assistant. Everything was fine til I got a quick black screen and immediately everything shutdown. So I took a close look at my connection and noticed this. The shroud was coming off one of the 2 top wires. And just a side note: I have GPU Tweak iii installed and had the green light confirming the connection was good. Don't know if that wire with the shroud coming off had anything to do with it but I noticed something else when changing the wire for a new one. I just happened to have ordered and received a right angle cablemod 12vhpwr cable a day before this happened.My original cable was Corsair. Upon examination of the 2 there was a huge difference. Not only was the cablemod much thicker gauge, the cablemod has 4 connectors going into the PSU as opposed to the Corsair only having 2.Any ideas as to what YOU may think happened?
