NZXT-ESC now supports live “Now Playing” overlays on the Kraken LCD

I turned the NZXT Kraken LCD into a fully customizable “Now Playing” display 👀

NZXT-ESC can now show:
• Album covers
• Song title / artist / album
• Auto-hide when music stops
• Browser audio support (YouTube, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)
• Spotify + basically anything exposing media info to Windows

And the best part?
It all works together with existing overlays like CPU/GPU temps, RAM usage, GIFs, videos, clocks, and more all inside the same layer-based layout system

This update uses my companion app: NowPlaying.WebSocket.

Real-time audio visualizers reacting to your music are already in development too

Still polishing things and there may be some bugs, but I’m really excited to finally share this feature

I tried to reach out about this through the official channels both the NZXT Discord and NZXT support.

The result? No real answers.

Support told me they don’t have visibility into GitHub at all, and on Discord I didn’t receive any meaningful response either.

At the same time, the official GitHub organization (NZXTCorp) has been sitting there for years with:

  • no updates
  • unanswered issues and pull requests
  • no visible ownership or communication

From the outside, it honestly feels like the entire GitHub side has just been abandoned or at least completely ignored.

And that’s the part I don’t understand.
NZXT is a well-established, premium brand. But this situation doesn’t reflect that at all.

I’m not trying to attack anyone I’m just being direct:
This creates a disconnect between the company and the community.

If GitHub is no longer being used, that’s totally fine.
But leaving public repositories in this state, with no communication and no clear ownership, sends the wrong message.

At this point I’m just trying to understand:
Is this intentional, or is it simply being overlooked?

Has anyone else noticed this?
