War & Psychiatry
Hi all! I have a conditional offer with MSc War & Psychiatry. Reaching out to see if anyone has taken this course before? I haven’t been able to find too many reviews from past students so I’m just curious! Thanks!
Pre sessional course
Is this pre sessional course only for those who didnt meet english requirements?
KCL MSc Economics & Policy: how math-heavy is it really?
Hey everyone,
I’ve just received a conditional offer from King’s College London for the MSc Economics & Policy (part-time), and I’m trying to get a better sense of what to expect from the course.
For a bit of context, I’m finishing my undergraduate degree in Economics. I managed fine overall, but I didn’t particularly enjoy the more technical side—especially econometrics and some parts of micro. I’m much more interested in the applied/policy side of economics rather than heavy theory or maths.
I was wondering how technical this programme actually is in practice. Is it manageable for someone who isn’t a big fan of the more mathematical aspects of economics? How intensive is the econometrics component, and is it more applied or still quite theoretical?
Also, since I’ll be doing it part-time, I’m hoping that makes it a bit more manageable—but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s taken the course (or something similar at KCL) about workload, difficulty, and overall experience.
Any insights would be really helpful—thanks in advance!
info for 26/27 students!! (from a soon to be 2nd year)
okay so i’ve seen a bunch of questions on here especially since the portal for accom is now open for you guys + SFE applications are beginning to get processed!
i went through kaas first year so ill let you know everything i did to secure accom etc as i had many of the same anxieties ive seen expressed on here :-)
after sending in my SFE application i was super worried about how quickly i would get it, as i also needed to apply for kaas but it only took 1 week! the same day i got that back i took a screenshot of my ‘Letter of Entitlement’ and emailed it to kings for kaas processing.
when you do this make sure you screenshot all pages even the blank one at the end! make sure it’s in the right format when you email it!! i think mine was in JPEG (you can change this on the files app)
I sent that off on a friday and got it back on the monday after - did not take 4 weeks as they said ! (very relieving as i was super anxious about kaas)
oh btw the essay thing for kaas is super simple and doesn’t really matter - it is allocated on how quickly you get it done not how convincing it is. (also like if you qualify financially lols).
once you have all that sorted for me, they gave me a weeks access onto the portal. meaning that i had 7 days of continuous log in into the portal so i could browse which accoms i wanted - not sure if this is the same for 2026!!
this was extremely stressful and i definitely became compulsive over logging in and checking for new updates. i would literally log in between revising a level flashcards it was awful. i think after day 4/5 i realised the accom i wanted was all taken up so i chose gdsa on a whim (it was the only one for the last 3 days that was an en-suite).
it wasn’t really my top choice but i wanted a private bathroom lols. luckily last year (and i assume this year) they allowed you to change your accom once after your first booking - so this gives more time to choose your absolute one if that makes sense???
luckily the accom i wanted refreshed right in front of my eyes lol (maybe compulsively checking between flashcards works) and i managed to book it!!!
very stressful but i just thought id share bcz it as quite literally the most panic inducing process ever!
if anyone has any questions about accom, results day, offers, or kings in general feel free to ask :-)))
i really hope this helps!!!
Just got an offer for Kings College Classics 2nd year
Im transferring to Kings College into the 2nd year from Kent University. I have a few questions if someone could answer please. Classics and the Ancient World BA (or if your doing another humanities subject)
•Are the lectures 1hr or 2hrs?
•Do you take 3 modules a term or 2?
•How many assignments per module do you need to hand in?
• Im commuting so would like a general idea of the timetable layout (are lectures close or spaced out through the day, how many days a week on average do you go in to class)
•What are the exams like? My current Uni doesnt have examinations so I dont really know how university exams work etc.
Thank you 👍
Am I cooked
My situation is a bit complicated, so please bear with me here. I'm a Turkish student who wants to study psychology abroad. I graduated last year, decided to take a gap year, but this year I missed the applications for several reasons, so I couldn't apply to universities. So I considered applying for foundations in UK, and KCL has appealed to me since I first saw it. But in terms of studying psychology in UK is different than in Turkey cause in Turkey, you need to study equal weights in the last two years of high school to study psychology, which means you don't see science at all, plus my math has always been bad and in this case, it needs to be opposite. Despite all this, I saw the foundation as a chance to recover my gaps and if I succeed, to go to the university I desire. So I applied to the KCL's Health Science route 10 days ago, but still haven't heard from them. Plus, I applied during a time when they don't guarantee to look at applications and I also think I kinda screwed up writing a personal statement as well. So it is clear that there are lots of drawbacks. Do you have any suggestions I need to hear? I can give more info if needed.
Can I get into kings if I don’t meet the conditions of my offer?
I got an offer from kings for BSc neuroscience back in December, however I’m not sure if I can meet the offer conditions (AAA) as I’m passing the A level program in one year instead of two, and I’m writing 15 exams in summer, which is a lot.. it’s a dream of mine to study at kings (I’m an international student) and I would really really want to start studying there this year.
What can I do if I won’t meet the conditions of my offer?
(P.s. I had to condense the a level program to a year due to IB getting banned in my country. before A levels I did one year of IB)

History and Political Economy at KCL
I’ve just gotten an offer to study this course at kcl, I was wondering what sort of fields you could get yourself into. I’d also like to know what the course is like. is it interesting?
KCL’s MA public policy? Thoughts?
Hi everyone,
I’ve recently been admitted to the MA in Public Policy at King’s College London, and I wanted to get a better sense of the program from current students or alumni.
I’d really appreciate any insights on things like:
- Overall quality of the program (teaching, structure, workload)
- How practical vs. theoretical it is
- Opportunities for internships, networking, or policy-related experience during the degree
- Career outcomes after graduation (what kinds of roles people typically go into, and where)
I’m particularly interested in social policy and governance, so if anyone has taken related modules or followed a similar path, I’d love to hear about your experience.
Also, how well does the degree position you for roles in international organizations, NGOs, or policy consulting?
Thanks so much in advance, any advice or honest feedback would really help!
urgent
This is like the 19920191th post ive made here about accommodation but whatever
I feel so stupid right now. i went on kings accommodation and ALMOST!! booked a room. I did not go through with a deposit or anything and so I thought i did not book one (obviously right?)
HOWEVER!!!
when i went to check later on (around 30 mins later) i cannot book a room because i apparently have a room already?? here comes the moment of stupidity, i go to cancel the room (that i am 100% certain i DID NOT BOOK) and i cancel it- (this is completely my fault as i did not read up on cancelling rooms vs changing rooms and whatnot, im pretty sure that now i can only book a room after alevel results day) but i thought it would be fine because i didn’t book a room in the first place?!?!?
now i cannot even access accommodations and ive been emailing kcl residences but they are no help at all theyre not answering my question😭
i am not eligible for KAAS and so i would have had to pay a deposit but i didnt and i assume the room was still booked?
again cancelling the room was a rushed decision and i did not take time to think about the consequences however i really did rhink i was fine because i didn’t even book a room so how would i even cancel a room that i did not book?!?!????
im so lost and im panicking a bit😭
does anyone have any suggestions? emailing has gotten me nowhere so maybe i will call
booking accommodation
hello! i just wanted to ask if anyone else is struggling/ has struggled to book accommodation?
I have a couple questions…
the first two pictures are what happens when I click on the 48 week contract button, i do not and have not indicated that i would qualify for either kaas or adp, so i am unsure what’s going on there.
i was able to access the accommodations up until i put in my student finance application, maybe that is related? however even from there i would not qualify for anything, has anyone else experienced this?
-the next three pictures are what happens when i choose the ‘next’ button, so the regular 40wk contracts.
i am able to see the available accommodations and click on the room codes but all that appears is whats on slide 5.
i am unable to proceed amd what happens is on slide six.
i am really confused, but honestly it might just be a me problem, i might have misunderstood how to book the room amd im just being silly
i’ve also sent emails to kcl but am unsure if i am writing to the right people, so if anyone has any contacts that would be greatly appreciated.
thank you so much!
