Was given inedible food

Am I being unreasonable here or is this completely unfair from Just Eat?

I ordered food and the gammon I received was literally raw/undercooked. The vegetables also looked old/discoloured. I took photos because I genuinely didn’t feel safe eating it and ended up throwing the meal away.

I contacted Just Eat support straight away and the FIRST agent actually told me I was eligible for a refund and was about to process it. Unfortunately my WiFi disconnected mid-chat before it went through.

When I reconnected, another agent/team leader suddenly refused to refund me saying they had “reviewed my claim history”. Apparently because I’ve complained before (when items were missing/wrong etc.) they now won’t refund me at all.

That makes no sense to me because if restaurants send missing items or unsafe food, obviously customers are going to complain? How does that suddenly make future complaints invalid?

The most frustrating part is that they barely let me respond before closing chats, and now they’re completely ignoring the fact the food was unsafe and that another agent already confirmed I qualified for a refund.

I’ve got photo evidence of the raw food too.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Is there any way to escalate this properly? Would you eat this meal?

DOB ISSUE ON ANDROID

Anyone facing the DOB issue on Android? The DOB toggle is not clickable for a week now. So you cant put the customer's DOB to complete the delivery. Yesterday they sent a notification saying they have fixed the issue with an update but their was nothing on playstore.

Hi everyone, UK here. I recently placed an order with JustEat and paid £31 etc, and the order on the screen for last hour said “thanks for order”. It never progressed beyond that. Then it kept saying it could be delivered an 30-40 mins, so it’s over 90 mins. I assume they don’t have drivers hence order was not prepared. So as we were hungry I went to cancel due to no delivery but it said I will not get my get my money back.

As I’m super stressed with other things, I assumed I would a refund. I didn’t read it properly. Has anyone else experienced this? They stole £31 for no delivery and I’m shocked they can do this. When I emailed them, they said because I cancelled I accepted no refund so I don’t get one. What can I do to get a refund. I’m so angry and upset. Do I take hit accept the fact of this?

Appreciate any advice. I won’t be using them again :(

I want to share my recent experience with Just Eat, because it highlights a serious issue with how their system works, and how customers can end up paying for something they never receive.

I placed an order for £16.33 (including delivery). It included 4 slices of pizza (the main item), fries and a dessert.

When the delivery arrived, the driver asked for a PIN to confirm the order. The food was handed over in sealed packaging, so like any normal person, I accepted it in good faith assuming everything I paid for was inside. There’s no realistic way to open multiple sealed bags and check everything at the door while the driver is standing there.

After opening it, I realised the main item, the pizza, was completely missing. Only the fries and dessert were delivered.

I contacted support expecting a straightforward fix, but instead I got multiple copy-paste responses saying that because I provided the PIN, the delivery is considered complete and no refund can be issued.

But that makes no sense.

A PIN only confirms that something was handed over, not that the order was correct or complete.

Their system basically forces you to confirm delivery before you can even check what’s inside, and then uses that confirmation against you if something is missing.

So the process is:
• You receive a sealed bag
• You confirm delivery
• You open it and something is missing
• And you’re told it’s your responsibility

There’s no real opportunity to verify the order at the point of delivery, yet all responsibility is shifted onto the customer afterwards.

I escalated this several times and got the same response every time, “final decision”.

At this point it’s not even about the money anymore, it’s about how broken this system is.

I’ve lost confidence in the platform and won’t be using Just Eat again. Just sharing this so others are aware.

Screenshots attached for transparency.

Scam?

Received this after my first shift with JustEat on Saturday. I did have one restaurant delay but I was in contact with support during to inform them of the delay and the payment for that is still present. Can't see anywhere in the app to contact support and confirm if this is real?

How to actually get a refund on Just Eat?

I’ve had a couple of issues recently where one order never turned up at all and another time the food was completely wrong compared to what I’d actually ordered. I tried going through the app and contacting support but it felt like there were just loads of different explanations and delays without anything actually getting resolved properly. I’m starting to wonder if it’s even realistic to get a refund in these situations or if it just depends on luck and persistence. Has anyone’s actually managed to get their money back consistently?

Not a single order 😅

Hey, folks. I never really expect my JustEat to be mega busy - especially with the nicer weather etc. Roo is ticking over okay, and the odd UberEats order, but I haven't had any kind of order from JustEat for a few days now - not even a horrendous double or 15 miler.

Anybody else experiencing this? Have I been blacklisted? Does the acceptance rate suddenly actually contribute to the amount of orders you receive? Or is my app just broken?

Basically I ordered a burger meal with a Dr Pepper and a kebab with 2 sprites only my burger came. I said to the driver where are the drinks (as I didn’t notice the missing food) he argued till I said show me the receipt, which then he replied with ahh sorry the shop is closed now. I requested a refund and got this reply

I did an order today which contained paracetamol so had to give ID info. I put my dad’s full name and DOB because he usually answers the door and just thought it would be easier. I think because I was doing it in a rush, I may have accidentally written the wrong birth year for my dad.

The driver asked for this info and my dad gave his and the driver turned away. He then knocked out door a minute later and told my dad that the info is not correct on his phone. My dad gave his name and DOB again but still no luck…

Literally 20 minutes passed and the driver knocked our door again to say that his phone is blocked and he can’t bypass anything. I felt bad because maybe it was my fault. I told my dad to tell the driver that perhaps I wrote the wrong birth date and to try the date I think i might’ve written. But the driver said his phone wasn’t letting him do anything.

The driver then asked my dad to call just eat to ask for help to unblock his phone?? This part really confused me because surely as a just eat employee, you have more access to resolving your own issues yourself?? I still feel bad but just wondered if it was us the customers who were meant to call just eat or the driver??

The address on the on the app by the drivers is shown correct but about 50times now at late hours I keep getting delivery drivers banging on my front door when I haven’t ordered anything.

Edit: the neighbour puts their address in correctly, so it’s not really their fault but these drivers still show up at my house

I keep asking to see their phones and ask them what map app they’re using, but they’re not interested in showing me or telling me how they got here or they don’t speak English or understand.

I’m fed up of going around in circles and banging my head against a wall. Answering the door and having a confused delivery driver not understanding why I don’t want to take the food or give them a confirmation code.

I’ve gone to the correct house and asked them to reverify their address and explained the situation but it hasn’t changed anything.

And I’ve also edited google maps to verify the correct address as far away from mine as possible.

What else can I do?

Hi community,

I along with the populous seem to be sick and tired of these delivery apps. They seem to be gouging users and the restaurants with their fees, charges and absolute shitty service. I have been contemplating on building a competing app for a good part of a year now. I work as a developer and I’ve just been laid off. So maybe it’s time I start on this.

I have been thinking about a few things.

- What would an ideal user experience be? What are you ok paying for/not paying for?

- as a delivery driver, what are your pain points?

- anything else that needs to be looked into?

This post is just for me to get an idea of what the market is looking for. So forgive me if it’s too vague or if I missed something; but feel free to drop a comment on something you like to see or don’t like about in the current system.

Thanks.

I placed an order for 3 items. Unfortunately the takeaway called to tell me that one of them was out of stock and asked if I wanted to substitute it for something else or a refund. I wanted a refund so the caller told me to report it to just eat after the order arrived and they would confirm the missing item on their end. So after the order arrived I reported the missing item and was later denied a refund based on the information they had.

Can anyone tell me what I do now?

Been doing this for a few months and still not sure how restaurant reimbursements work

Last week I had a KFC order that I waited 25 minutes + on ( it was my last order and was dropping off near my home). I noticed I got an extra £7.20...nice wee bonus

I was in KFC last night, again it was last order, it was a double, 30% bonus from 18:00-2100 and last to hit the challenge of 9 orders. Waited for nearly 40 minutes but didn't recieve any reimbursement

Do they not give it during the challenges/bonus periods?
