Do a lot of people dress up when they see a show at Pappys & Harriet’s?
Going to the Saxsquatch show tomorrow. Wondering if other people will be in costumes? Xoxo

Would recommend, but every place in the park is gorgeous in its own way.
do you guys have any recommendations for campsites in jumbo rocks? I am looking for cool rocks to climb adjacent to the campsite. I also want to be able to park close to the site. thanks!!
Pumped for the new moon, but wondering what the impact will be on the west side of the park.
Hey y’all, just spotted this snake on the trail to Willow Hole. Walked around it and it didn’t bother me. It left on my hike back. Just curious what kind of snake this is.
Two months ago, u/albertafalls asked about the location of an old Ansel Adams photo
I suggested that it looked like the Live Oak area, and they confirmed via Google Maps.
Yesterday I finally got a chance to actually go out there and try to take the same shot. Here's my result!
Obviously some differences between our shots:
- The Joshua tree is gone and some of the rocks have gotten moved around, I assume by the park service given this is now a picnic spot.
- Mine was taken late in the day (around 5pm) so the shadows don't line up
- I suspect u/abertafalls was right about him having a rig on top of his car, as the angle is a bit different.
- and of course completely different gear. I'm shooting digital vs his film
But overall still really neat to find where a photograph was taken 84 years ago! I did the same thing with another one of his iconic photos in Monument Valley a few years ago.
So we just stopped at the McDonald’s in Yucca Valley (close to JT) before heading into our last day of Coachella, and… wow.
Place was packed (obviously), long line, everyone just waiting their turn like normal humans. There was a group of women sitting behind my husband while he was waiting, and one of them just would not stop complaining about how long her food was taking. Like full-on ranting while her friends were clearly trying to calm her down.
Then she gets up, marches to the counter, SLAMS her order number down, and starts demanding how long her “fish fillet sandwich” is going to take — “two hours? three hours? four hours?” 🙄
But it gets worse.
She starts talking to the employee in the most condescending way possible, slowly over-enunciating every word like he couldn’t understand her. Super disrespectful, super unnecessary, and honestly just gross behavior.
Meanwhile the employees are just trying to keep up with a huge rush of people.
The wild part? They all looked like they had just come from church… which made the whole thing even more ironic.
Like ma’am… it’s a McDonald’s in the middle of a festival weekend. Your Filet-O-Fish is not an emergency.
Shoutout to the employees for dealing with that because I could not. Nobody deserves to be talked to like that over a sandwich.
If you were there, you definitely know exactly who I’m talking about…… and yes I have a video of her. lol
Ok folks, summer is almost here. There are good/bad, large/small and expensive/reasonably priced swamp coolers out there. What are some good options for Yucca Valley?
I had climbed up on top of some boulders to watch the sunset and noticed this coyote trotting around down on the ground. I watched him wander around for a few minutes and then saw the rabbit scurrying bush to bush. I’m pretty sure he was tracking him! He eventually gave up and the rabbit lived to see another day.
Anyone have tickets to Saxquatch tomorrow that don't want them for whatever reason, im trying to figure out how I'm going to see this show
Uploading the photos here since I can’t upload them in the comments. The photos were taken at Live Oak Picnic area in Joshua Tree National Park. Mine were taken on March 12 at 1:17-1:18pm.

Here’s the discussion post:
Wife and I decided to head to JT for a couple days of our LA vacation. We’re borrowing gear and won’t be prepared for a full two day loop. Instead we plan to piece together short day hikes, leave the gear in the car, then late afternoon head in to the backcountry not much past the 1 mile requirement for a quiet night alone under the stars.
Would appreciate advice on a backcountry parking lot that can be accessed by paved roads, reliably have a parking spot on Thursday night, with a hassle free trail to find a camping spot. We’ll hike back out first thing in the morning for more day hikes the next day, so keeping it simple is more important than quality of the trail, but of course nice views are a bonus. Thanks!
Came across this fella chilling out. I understand the red rattlesnakes are protected in California. Beautiful and dangerous.
