Simple one night backcountry camping
Wife and I decided to head to JT for a couple days of our LA vacation. We’re borrowing gear and won’t be prepared for a full two day loop. Instead we plan to piece together short day hikes, leave the gear in the car, then late afternoon head in to the backcountry not much past the 1 mile requirement for a quiet night alone under the stars.
Would appreciate advice on a backcountry parking lot that can be accessed by paved roads, reliably have a parking spot on Thursday night, with a hassle free trail to find a camping spot. We’ll hike back out first thing in the morning for more day hikes the next day, so keeping it simple is more important than quality of the trail, but of course nice views are a bonus. Thanks!
