Hello r/samsung / r/GalaxyS24,
I’ve been a dedicated Samsung user and supporter for over 20 years, having owned nearly every flagship since the early Galaxy S series. Unfortunately, I’m now facing a persistent and frustrating problem with my Galaxy S24 Ultra that has significantly impacted my daily use.
The device, purchased from Altex Romania and still well within its warranty period, freezes randomly. During these episodes, apps become unresponsive, the keyboard disappears, and the screen no longer registers touch input — even the on-screen restart option is ignored. The only way to recover is a forced reboot. I have documented this behavior on video multiple times.
I have already sent the phone for warranty service twice. Both times it was returned without a proper fix, and the random freezing continued. This often causes me to miss important work calls, as the phone becomes completely unreachable during these episodes.
I’ve tried everything on my end: factory resets, setting the phone up both with and without restoring my backup, different settings tweaks, and more. The issue persisted in all scenarios.
After escalating the matter, Samsung Romania recently contacted me. Their final position is that they will not provide any further solution or replacement. This is especially disappointing given that the device is still under warranty and my long-standing loyalty to the brand.
After extensive testing, I finally identified the root cause: the freezing started right after the One UI 8.0 update and matches reports from other users experiencing the same random locks and unresponsiveness.
I’m truly disappointed with how this has been handled. Here are two short videos showing the exact issue in action. *not a screen protector issue *tried clearing home app cache (not a long term solution) *not a touch issue -home app fails *wiped multiple times -factory reset and in meniu wipe cache *no backup start

Hello guys, I have a samsung s24 ultra and I have been meaning to buy a wireless charger and utilise the wireless charging function.I want to have one by my bedside so that when I come home tired I could just place it on the charger and sleep.I also find wireless chargers very aesthetic when on a desk. I have been looking at some wireless chargers that are available on Alibaba and Amazon but I haven't yet decided on what to buy at the moment.I would like a charger with at least 45 watt fast charging capacity.I want a wireless charger from a reputable brand.I have seen some wireless chargers on Mr.whosetheboss youtube videos (Qi 2) or something like that. I would like something similar to that but at an affordable price.I would prefer the charger to be circular in shape and lie flat on the surface as I think the phone is not magsafe compatible. I am looking forward to getting on which wireless charger is good and fast at the same time.
Hello everyone does anyone know when they will start rolling out the One UI 8.5 stable version update to the samsung galaxy s24 ultra?
I always read about battery issues when a new update comes out.
I'm a little excited about the new features and the HUD upgrades, but I'm not sure about updating because of the said problem.
Has anyone ever seen or heard of cases of damage to the spen by the phones heat?
Ik about the burning smell
Idc about that
I wanna know about actual damage
Like writing issues
Capacitor damage
Deformation or such things
Regular usage(that increases the temps)
Not any outliers that cause increases in temperature
Galaxy S24 Series will receive the Stable One UI 8.5 Update shortly after Galaxy S25.
The rollout will Start Next week in major countries, confirms a Samsung moderator in Canada.
Hello everyone!
First time Galaxy flagship user here. Ive been using a mid-range Honor 90, and before this, a Galaxy A12 (OneUI 4.1) which was a horrible experience that made me think all Samsung phones are like that. Well, after a long debate on getting either Galaxy or iPhone, I picked up my first flagship ever, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. I ditched the S25U because it has some issues + higher price for the same thing and the S26U's horrible display quality and downgraded cameras. I also have the Galaxy Watch 8 LTE paired with it, and soon, the Galaxy Buds.
To be clear, I picked up a refurbished unit, New like condition (no scratches or dents at all), and they have also installed a brand new battery for me too, 256GB Black.
My first impression is that this phone is awesome, apps open instantly, it handles multitasking easily, the chipset inside is an absolute powerhouse and will be for the next years, the display is beautiful, the cameras are light years ahead of most phones. And remember, this is extemely far from an outdated phone, its still among the best as of today.
Well, I love the phone. I love the shape, the phone looks absolutely beautiful and premium, it gets full monthly updates until 2031, the OS is awesome, it has top notch specs, everything is cool.
The issue? Ive picked up the phone exactly 3-4 days ago, and my issue is that I think the phone is unusually hot, and the battery drains pretty quickly. Also, is it me, or is the quick panel animation sometimes laggy (or maybe its the adaptive refresh rate that shifts it to 60hz-ish).
Is this normal? I did not transfer anything from my old device btw, and I am running OneUI 8 on April 5 2026 Patch, GP System updates is April 1 2026.
Also, some facts about the phone or useful tips as a newcomer to the flagship party?
Thanks in advance.

I suddenly started to get connection issues with cellular data and reception, like in my own room I suddenly started to get no reception or data, did someone else experienced this?
So this pop-up? Takes forever to go away? Is there a way to change the length?
The main alarm that's usually at the very top deleted for me over night. I had it set for the usual time I wake up and it was active when I turned my alarm off but now that I'm going to bed, that alarm is suddenly gone. Strange.
