[DnD 5e}How to add Token height in v14? AKA Foundry deeply needs real, current documentation

Not sure it matters but this is for a DnD 5e game. Do we not have a way to set the height of a token? I'm just confused about half walls and interreacting with token vision.

YouTubed enough to figure out making walls and levels but I am not seeing anything for Token height. A 3ft tall character and a 7ft tall character should not have the same vision but I'm not seeing anyway to change that.

I saw on another post they are talking about updating the documentation. It needs to be done yesterday! It doesn't make sense that they put out these releases with entirely new features and we just have to guess. Now I just have to post to Reddit and hope someone figured something out that I didn't. It's honestly the biggest barrier to Foundry vtt.

What Macros do you use? [System Agnostic]

Heyooo! I recently discovered there's some incredible macros online and I was curious what ones you guys use? Like I have to sum damage rolls into one output, one to "fake" damage rolls for irl play such as fireball, another to delete the last template and a few more fun ones!

But I'm probably missing out on a lot! What would you recommend?

I do my DND prep on my laptop normally but used desktop. What files do I need to transfer to move my maps over?

So to go from laptop to desktop I gave it a google and found I needed to move the appdata/local/FoundryVTT folder along with my own destination for stored data. Now I've done that and made edits on PC, Im at a stage to migrate back to laptop. Do I still need to be transfering the /local file or would the designated storage place I declared for world files be enough?

I only have 1 world on foundryVTT anyway if that makes a difference.

[Help] Trying to get Foundry to work on a Chromebook

Hey! Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm trying to get foundry to work on my Chromebook. I can get to the log in page but when I put my details in and click 'Log In' nothing. No loading symbols, no error message, nothing.

I tried on Firefox and it worked but because of the nature of Firefox on a Chromebook it was slow to the point of being too slow and laggy. Please let me know if there is no known fix as my Chromebook is the only device I can use for our table top game

How to keep journal's art and borders when transferring to another world

[PF1e]

Hey people ,

I'm kinda new on this foundry vtt thing, so pardon my ignorance.

I bought the pf2 kingmaker module and now i'm slowly porting all the contents into a pf1 world, since i figured that porting the whole journal would be a real pain i was thinking that maybe i can port only the art of the journal so my players can use it for notes taking.

I tried for some time editing the json of the pf1 world but for the love of god i just cant make it work

Is there an easier way to retain the cool Journal borders, headings, and art? I would really like to carry them over so everything looks neat and coherent.

[DnD 5e] Runewords System (Looking for Feedback) — working with SC Simple Sockets

Hey everyone

I’m currently developing a Runeword system that integrates with my module SC Simple Sockets, and I’d love to get some feedback before I lock in core behavior.

How it works (current idea)

  • You socket gems into an item
  • If the gems match a specific order + combination, a Runeword activates
  • The item itself stays the same
  • It gains:
    • Activities
    • Active Effects

The big design question

Should a single item be able to have multiple Runewords?

Example

Let’s say you have a 4-socket item:

[ A ] [ B ] [ C ] [ D ]

And these Runewords exist:

  • AB → Runeword 1
  • CD → Runeword 2

Options I’m considering

1. Diablo-style (one Runeword only)

  • Entire item must match ONE combination
  • Runeword need matchs slots
  • No splitting

Clean
Easy to balance
Less creative

2. Multiple Runewords

  • Each valid combo activates independently

More build variety
More sandbox feel
Could get out of hand fast

Edge case (important)

[ A ] [ B ] [ C ]
  • AB = Runeword X
  • BC = Runeword Y

Should both work?
Should overlapping be blocked?
Should one take priority?

Looking for opinions

  • Do you prefer a Diablo-like strict system?
  • Or a more flexible/custom system?
  • Would stacking Runewords feel fun or broken?

This system is being built specifically to work with SC Simple Sockets, so your feedback here will directly shape how it behaves.

[DnD5e 4.3.9][V12.331] Creating an item that spends charges to deal damage

I want to create an item with 10 charges that allows you to spend those charges to deal an amount of damage equal to [number of spent charges]d10, and have those charges actually spent on the item. I have midi qol and I’ve been messing around with activity settings (I set it up as a save) but I just can’t make it work. I managed to set up rolling an amount I set up for scaling once but somehow when I try to repeat it with the same settings it also adds extra dice on top, so if I set the scaling to 3 it rolls 3d10 + 2d10 for some reason.

So ideally what I want is:

  1. To click on the save activity

  2. Get a prompt for the amount of charges I want to spend (e.g. 6)

  3. Have it roll that many d10s (e.g. 6d10) and remove the 5 charges from the item

  4. Next time I click the save activity have it show the amount of uses I have remaining (e.g. 4).

Number 4 I have figured out, but the rest… not so much.

[PF2e] Official AP Foundry modules, duplicating size of maps without breaking regions

Specific to Abomination Vaults official Foundry module. I wanted to duplicate the size of maps (dividing the Grid Size by half) but then found that all the regions from the official module (that track difficult terrain, roofs, weather effects) were shifted down, for some reason. And Foundry is a pain to move them (no matter what I tried, I couldn't manage to move it to the right place).

Anyone faced the same issue and found a fix for it? Is there a module that makes it easier?

Question about sharing modules with friends

[System Agnostic]
I have a question about sharing modules that contain content from the PHB 2024. A couple of friends and I bought Foundry and the PHB 2024 (we each have a copy in our own foundry account). We all speak spanish, but the PHB isn't in spanish, so I created a module with translated copies of important items like classes and spells, and I wanted to share it with my friends. Is there a problem with doing this? I understand that sharing paid content is against the rules, but since we each have purchased the content, I figured it might be okay?
