ufc 6 beta is garbage

we want simulation, not arcade. If we wanted arcade, we’d play tekken or mortal combat.

Remove flow state it’s actually disgusting and the person who thought of it should be fired immediately.

Same game as 5 but with (some) different animations (which are ass btw) no rag doll, no new subs, still no elbows on the ground, no follow up. I can go on and on. This game is ASS.

so fucking disappointed. We’ve been waiting 3 years for this garbage and the sad part is that EA will get away with it once again, because idiots will still buy it. I’m cancelling my pre order.

This is by far the worst UFC game yet. “Oh bu-but..new animations” shut the fuck up. It’s clunky as hell and so poorly made you’d think they’ve worked on it for a month.

If you seriously think otherwise I got no words for you, cope harder? It’s literally no way that anybody can be satisfied with this.

Do better.

Edit : EA, you literally have the blueprint, ufc *3*. just remake that and we’d be happy. UFC 6 is NOT an mma game, it’s a fighting game - like mortal combat, tekken.

Just ran into Max on the beta

His striking is legit as it is in real life. Had to wrestle him and got an absolute fluke tko from ground and pound

The models look super familiar to an old game…

I can’t be the only one who sees this picture and think of the EA MMA models, right? They look nearly similar to me. Anyone else think the same thing?

Hated it at first, but UFC 6 might become the best MMA game of all time.

It's not perfect, they need to fix some of the jankiness, glitches, and damage (too many flash knockouts in my opinion).

But the new fighter uniqueness feature for all the fighters is actually incredible.

Anyone that says this is just UFC 5 is crazy. This is the biggest jump we've had since UFC 2 to UFC 3.

The worst part about it is that grappling is still identical. If you play for the grappling, you'll be disappointed.

There is a learning curve. If you play this like you play UFC 5, you are going to have a horrible time. You are rewarded for playing like the fighter would fight in real life, and the fact that they have actually made that work, and it's not just some gimmick, is pretty insane to me.

I say it might become the best MMA game of all time because the potential is there. If they have captured the uniqueness of all ranked fighters in every division, that will be honestly mind-blowing, and they deserve serious credit.

I'm debating whether I should purchase the Ultimate Edition, I just wish they'd tell us what fighters we get, and what the 2 game modes are.

Don’t listen to these people telling you UFC 6 is the same…

I’ve played the beta and you can’t fight in UFC 6 how you do in UFC 5. Striking is more unforgiving, try to blitz someone throwing wildly and a straight right hand could knock you out. You really have to learn to pick your shots and get in a good position to hit your opponent. It’s not perfect by any means but with a couple tweaks this game could actually be good!

UFC 6 Beta closing

I want the beta back, don't make me go back to 5 😞I was enjoying 6. It's honestly the best UFC game we have. The fighter's uniqueness was what we needed, but they're annoying for leaving grappling the same, and the flowstate visuals gotta be changed. Either way, its going to be a boring gaming month until the game comes out lol.

I’m definitely not going back to UFC 5

I can’t believe now I have to wait till June 12th to be able to play UFC again, the only downside of the beta

Firstly, Legend (EA Game Changer) said we can talk about the beta now, just not share media from it.

Okay, so the game feels like it has the bones of UFC 5 (at least as responsive as 5 in most ways, stepping body jabs/straights feel sluggish though, like UFC 4), but there are more varied animations (big plus, they mostly look good too, Alex's moveset especially looks really nice, a little loose, but mostly accurate), the movement speed feels quicker.

Knockdown animations are improved but not UFC 2 level, though some of them do look really good before transitioning to a UFC 5 kind of position on the ground.

The damage is quite strong. You can't eat too many shots on the block, and counters seem to be really powerful. Unblocked combos/successive unblocked shots seem like they can really take your health away.

Leg kicks use the L2 button now and are snappier than UFC 5. Body kicks are just left stick towards opponent and a kick button, like Undisputed 3.

One thing I noticed though is that holding L2 and then holding a kick button gets you a switch body kick rather than a low kick. It sounds complicated but I think once you're used to it, it will feel natural.

Grappling is the same as UFC 5 (cage seated positions are nice though). Submissions from my one interaction seem the same, still a submission bar and it takes more than one submission to tap you out (at least if you have reasonable stamina as the one being subbed).

Seems to be a new knockdown animation added when against the cage, functionally the same as the usual knockdown-near-cage animation, but it looks really realistic, you fall down on your side, kind of like Cannonier did against Whittaker, and you can get KO'd on the way down. I like it a lot.

Best way I can describe it is that the game feels like a loosened up UFC 5, with the movement speed turned up by 15%, and with a lot more unique animations for fighters. DDP's jab looks really good.

To me, this game is a net upgrade over UFC 5, I'd like a bit slower movement maybe, but I'd rather it be too fast than too slow and potentially too clunky.

For reference, I thought UFC 5 was the best/most realistic EA UFC game, but I had the most fun on UFC 2. I've had some knockdowns that give me some of that UFC 2 feel, even though the ragdolls aren't like 2.

The ragdolls are, at times, like a looser/more realistic version of UFC 5, and it seems that they blend a looser ragdoll into a UFC 5 "on the ground after being knocked-down animation".

I'm hoping that the looser movement makes LHW and HW feel good. Undisputed 3 is still the best, IMO, but this is the best EA UFC game they've made as a total package. Considering realism vs fun.

Flow state needs to go though. Like people are saying, it looks like it's from a fighting game. Doesn't fit in an MMA game with realism as its intended approach. Also, I wish there was a realistic arena lighting filter/preset we could use.

EDIT: Also if you didn't know (I didn't), overhands and special kicks are L1 + R1 plus a punch/kick button. Thanks to u/knyelvr for letting me know.

If we ever needed proof that EA are out of touch on what the fans really want then flowstate is just that.

Who asked for a fillable power meter that gives you a super saiyan-like window for combos and an insane visual. Legitimately feels like a terrible mobile game feature, genuinely such a baffling decision.

Striking feels pretty good aside from that and the ground/clinch feels unchanged. Just a complete joke for the first instalment for 3 years

Let's be fair, the graphics is insane! Plus, the trailer was gameplay and not full of CGI. And those complaining about the animation, that's normal since it's an MMA game, not Street Fighter or Tekken. It's natural that the moves are the same, but there was a different animation if you looked closely at the trailer. And if you saw Holloway’s Head Movement, it was something else entirely. The game is also packed with content, as was clear: an open world in Career Mode, conferences, FaceOff, and two expansions are coming in the future, maybe Pride mode will be one of them.

UFC 6 playtest thoughts, as someone with too much time on UFC 5

When you boot up the game the main menu and all that is already wayyy better and not as low effort. Once you get a fight though, you can feel the weird filter clear as day, i'm fairly sure 5 had the same issue tho.

Striking:
If you try to strike like it's UFC 5, you're gonna get fucked up, especially now that people are more accustomed to the new striking. You probably hear of people saying the striking is clunky, or janky, or some shit like that. Sometimes it does yeah, but once you get the combos flowing it feels fluid as fuck, far better than 5, and more comparable to 2. Besides, most of the hate you see about the striking is likely coming from people who either didnt change their style from 5, or just suck, or both.
The fighters signature styles are also sick. Pereira actually feels like Pereira now. You can feel the chama in every punch and kick, and in-game he actually throws like Pereira. Same goes for each fighter and their own styles. The modes are also really good especially Alex's. Except for DDP's torso tho they gave him a lightweight frame and he looks goofy 😂
Im 50/50 on the flow state though, the idea itself is great but the execution is overdone particularly with the visual effects. I feel like if they really tone down the effects or make them very subtle then there wouldnt be nearly as much hate. Flow state also doesnt make you invulnerable by any means btw, you can still get chinned if you get hit just right, which leads me to flash ko's. People are probably pissed about them but I like it, because its more like real life where you could just get caught by that one perfect strike no matter how your fight was going, and you can get knocked tf out.
Head movement is janky asf rn tho, feels inconsistent and so do the hitboxes.
Theres also a couple new drop animations, one is similar to when Conor got caught by Khabib, and theres also a new cage sitting position after a knockdown where its more like when Izzy got caught by Strickland.

Grappling:
Exactly the same as 5 plus a butterfly guard when youre near the cage, which gives you 2 options to get up, which I think is better than 5 where your getup near the cage is easily telegraphed. I dont have much experience grappling in 6 though because 7/10 times it makes my game run like a slideshow for some reason, and gets fixed as soon as i get on the feet.

Damage:
The crunches and sounds you hear are violent and the blood is a bit crazier than 5, and the visual damage is overall more consistent rather than mollywhopping someone in 5 and leaving nothing but a swollen eye, then getting hit by one punch that leaves your face looking like someone wringed a tampon on your shit.
The bruises are also crazy now, i'm constantly leaving peoples shoulders and torsos purple.

Overall I feel like its a decent foundation for the game but there's a lot to be polished.

I think thats all i have to say but feel free to ask any questions.
