Maps of Faerûn in 1501 DR

I have been working on "reskinning" the Mike Schley official 5.5e Fearûn map. I am using his super high resolution map and adding all my own roads, cities and what not. This way I can add a lot more than what he has on his original. I have learned so much about Faerûn from my research and from community comments. Thank you everyone for all! I have even tweaked some of the physical portions of Mike's map to fit better with lore. I have tried to base everything in the map on actual Forgotten Realms canon. But I will admit there a a few fanon things in there.

As for the political map, I have obviously had to come up with most of the boundaries on my own, with lots of input from the community once again. Ultimately, these kind of boundaries for the most part do not really exist, but I like the idea....

Again, thanks for all the input and please keep it up. I will eventually post a super hi-res version for all. For now here is a link to a Google folder with higher-resolution versions than in the post.

Made a morel mug that feels like tavern gear from a druid camp

I have been making this handmade ceramic mug inspired by morels and trying to hone in on glazes that make it feel like something you would find in a forest settlement or druid camp. I wanted the surface to feel earthy and lived in, not clean or modern. This firing got much closer to the look I had in mind.

A little table side drama, just want to rant. get told I'm wrong.

playing dnd with a long time group, was rolling good all game, rolled my 3rd d20 in a row. (first 2 were skill checks so didn't count as anything crazy). the DM was getting annoyed with my rolls, grabbed my d20 rolled it, got a 4, 11 and another 4 and handed it back to me. (they always will notoriously bad), when it was me turn again I grabbed a different d20 (didn't want his taint all over my rolls) got a 18 and the DM said it didn't count because I changed dice. so I rolled the tainted dice and got a 3.

I know it's stupid, the roll wasn't super critical to the success of the party. we made it through the combat just fine and the rest of the session was fun except for me, but i kept to myself. I been kinda heated about it for 3 days now. it's just a game, I know, but he tainted my dice and crushed my hot streak.

First session

I just DM’d my first session of DnD last night and had a great time. Tried looking for groups to play with and found that very challenging, so I decided I would just DM. I have listened to some popular lets play podcasts and was able to participate in one one shot. So I was anxious but felt I could probably pull on enough threads of knowledge to make it work.

The group I played with ranged from totally new to very inexperienced, and it was just with the 2024 starter set. But man I am buzzing, I can see why people really love this, we are all looking forward to continuing the game!

Brand New DM! Any tips?

I have played D&D for about 2 weeks now with some friends and it has been a great time.

I realized that this could be a great way to spend time with my family virtually so I volunteered to DM (for the first time). We will be playing Dragon's of Stormwreck Isle.

This will be my first time playing through this adventure as well. I didn't like the style of map that was included in the adventure guide so I decided to learn how Dungeon Scrawl worked and I built this in about 2 hours. I know it is a littler different from what the adventure has on the map, but I have decided to give my new players some more overland travel opportunities by creating a dedicated trail.

If anyone has tips for running this adventure, building maps, or being a good DM I would appreciate the positive feedback! <3

B161 - Eftirlífskip

Wondrous (Longship, Sentient) – Artifact ()

These blue longships have rounded heads with a green line around the head and two light blue curved back horns on top. The ship has seven square green shields attached to each side of it that curve down to the bottom of the ship. The light blue oars have curved, pointed tips.

Eftirlífskips typically have calm and collected demeanors, and are usually used to ferry spirits across afterlives for whatever reason, making them nearly unseen on the Material Plane. Eftirlífskips’ crews are most commonly Celestials, and almost never mortals, although Eftirlífskips will usually follow the commands of any captain that treats it with respect and takes care of it.

While the magic used to give them life allows it to move independently, it still requires a crew in order to travel at a regular longship’s normal speeds.

Eftirlífskips use the Longship statblock with the following changes:

  • It is a Construct
  • It is Lawful Neutral
  • It has Int 10, Wis 10, and Cha 10
  • It gains immunity to necrotic damage
  • It can move through any liquid or liquid-like substance (like lava or acid lakes) without taking damage from the substance
  • It gains a move speed of 15 ft that it can perform itself by rowing its oars, but cannot operate its own sails or row its oars at max speed
  • It has Truesight with a range of 120 ft, passive perception 10
  • It can speak all languages
  • Twice per day, it can perform the Plane Shift spell. This transports itself and all its passengers to a destination on an after life plane or from an after life plane to the material plane. It can choose the destination or have the location (including the plane) be random, but the destination it arrives in will always be a location a boat its size can fit while being on a substance it could sail on, like a port or a large pond. The spell is also much more precise, as you will appear very near the desired location, like just outside a city’s port. If a passenger does not want to plane shift, it can attempt a DC 20 Charisma save to remain behind, although this would result in it falling into whatever the boat was floating in when the boat shifts. It can also attempt to exclude any passengers from a plane shift, such as crew that have disrespected it, who must make a DC 20 Charisma save or be left behind.

Wanted: Advice for Time loop Sidequests

Hi all you wonderful, creative people!

I am running a short 4-6 session time loop campaign for my freinds (and my birthday!!) later this year. I am looking for some quests that I can give my party to level up and find clues to foil the BBEG and solve the time loop.

If you have any ideas for a quest with a plot that can be solved definitively and conceivably in 24-48 hours in world please leave a comment!

They could be thematically relevant to the time loop, or not at all. amd they can be any level of difficulty, because if the PCs fail they can always try again tomorrow :)

Dungeon Master seeking help/advice.

So I’m a dungeon master for and I’m currently trying to develop a dungeon but I’ve hit a snag, I know the general premise and design of the dungeon but as far as the puzzles/encounters Ive been brewing for a while and like to here what other players/DM’s have to say.

Here’s the premise, the players are set to steal a priceless relic from a long dead mage, but this mage loved magic and was careful to leave his treasure well guarded. The dungeon is 10 floors of a tower, with the first floor being a standard room and the top floor being where the treasure is. They must go through the dungeon and cannot fly and enter from above. They must go middle 8 floors are all themed around the eight schools of magic

Necromancy

Divination (this room is already done)

Illusion

Enchantment

Evocation

Abjuration

Transmutation

Conjuration

I’d like to keep a mix of puzzles and monsters so things don’t get stale and the rooms can be done in any order. I’m just pouring over the Monster Manual and Player’s Handbook at the moment trying to come up with interesting ideas but I’d love to hear what you guys think.

Building a Biblical campaign. Need help

So me and my kid came up with an idea for a Biblical campaign where the PC’s are all Chaotic evil. Eventually that lead to making the big bad Jesus himself. I will also add Moses, Cain, and Adam (as well as some disciples and other biblical characters). What I’m having a problem with is building classes and stats for these folks. Can any of you more experienced DM’s give me a hand? Please and Thank you.

Collecting 4e Dark Sun Campaigns

I’m trying to collect all the 4e Dark Sun campaigns. So far I’ve found Bloodsand Arena, Sand Raiders, and Marauders of the Dune Sea. Is that everything? I also keep seeing Ashes of Athas mentioned. Is that an official campaign?
